George (technician) arrived timely and was very thorough. He explained things to me every step of the way. He is approaching this very methodically - ok, so it's not the igniter, let's look at the next link in the chain... I saw George called out by name in other Yelp reviews, and I understand why he comes so highly recommended! He called the manufacturer to discuss his findings, but the manufacturer tech team wasn't available. He let me know he would be calling them again in the morning and that he would reach out to me with an update. I've had plenty of negative or so-so experiences with other service technicians from other companies. This experience with George / Astera is so positive that I'm posting my review even before the service is completed. This is the second time Ibbotson has been out and both times, Ibbotson addressed the issue for far less than we feared we'd have to pay. We're not kidding ourselves. We understand we are on borrowed time with this furnace but rather than exploit the situation we had a good, educational talk with our technician about ultimately replacing our system and given honest answers and solid options. It turned out my AC unit needed a new compressor and more freon because it wasn't cooling enough and too much ice was building up on the coils in my home thus causing a leak when the ice melted. Andrew also saw that the drain tube coming from the unit inside was clogged. He cleaned the tube and got everything working properly again. He also recommended using less restrictive filters for my system, stating that the higher quality ones are too restrictive and don't allow for efficient air flow thus making the unit work too hard. All of his recommendations are paying off since my system is no longer leaking and is working much better than before. I'm grateful for his knowledge and expertise. He's honest and has fair pricing. I've referred him to many of my neighbors.

The impressive part was the quick response from Vlad who is the owner and a technician. He was able to send someone the next day. The person figured it out and got it fixed. However, something was off on the repair which I noticed and Vlad again quickly came out to correct it. These days it's hard to get the type of attention and response from most businesses.
