I live in Brookline, Massachusetts and was having ongoing issues with the boilers in my building…read more After some investigation, I discovered the problem was related to my chimney, it did not have a stainless steel liner, and the top of the chimney was not constructed correctly. The flues were positioned too far below the chimney cap, which was causing draft and venting problems. I contacted several chimney companies for estimates, and while many sent representatives, the one that truly stood out was Freitas Chimney & Fire (freitaschimney.com). The owner, Roberto, was not only professional but also incredibly personable. He was the only one who went above and beyond during the inspection. Unlike the others, he removed the chimney cap, removed the venting pipes from the boilers, took detailed photos, and thoroughly explained what the real problem was. If I had gone with another company, I likely would have only lined the chimney and still been left with the underlying issue. Roberto's insight saved me from a potentially costly mistake. I hired him for the job, and he did outstanding work, keeping me informed throughout the process with photos and videos showing each step. His pricing is very reasonable, especially considering the level of detail and professionalism he brings to the job. The only downside is that he's quite busy, but that's simply because he's so good at what he does. If you're willing to wait a bit, it's well worth it. I highly recommend Freitas Chimney & Fire. They're professional, clean, knowledgeable, and very easy to work with. Richard Winston 7/26/2025

Steff, who was pleasant and professional during our conversation, said she would try to get a technician to my home today. I was quoted a price for the job which was fair and reasonable. Thirty minutes later, a Kiwi utility truck entered my driveway. Technicians Gabe and Regan introduced themselves and I gave them an overview of my woodstove and chimney. They wasted no time and immediately went to work. They thoroughly cleaned the chimney and removed all the glazed creosote; they went on to clean the stove, stove pipe, chimney cap and screen. A thorough inspection was performed, and I was happy to hear the clay flue was in good shape.
