We just bought a new house and found that the dryer vent was detached and blowing lint everywhere in the attic which is a major fire hazard. I reached out to Evan and he responded SO quickly. He came out on a Sunday morning of a holiday weekend to help us out. He noticed we had a wood stove and let us know he also offers cleaning those as a service too and that he'd have time to help take care of that for us. I have used Evan for many years since Covid Pandemic...mainly for HVAC / Central Air unit maintenance and cleaning. He has always been on time or communicative in letting us know when he is arriving or if he is running behind on a previous job with an update for expected arrival time. He constantly gives updates on worked performed, outlining every bit of detail of what needs to be performed and at what cost to do the work. He also is very meticulous with his work....something that is uncommon with many contractors and workers these days who are simply in a rush to get in and out as quickly as possible. Finally, I am happy with his pricing. I have had my entire Central air system serviced including ducts and vents fully cleaned for only $350 (up from $300 prior years due to the whole inflation thing going on). I should of done this long time ago! Our dryer was taking longer and longer to dry. I decided to give it a shot by calling professional vent / duct cleaner - much much cheaper then replacing the dryer. The drying time is down from 1.5 hours to 30 min. Its a miracle :). I was so impressed that I requested to also have all vents in my house clean - admittedly a service a never done before - but we really should. I scheduled air-duct cleaning for my home after living here for seven years. Evan offered to show me photos of the ducts, but I knew that they were bad (he mentioned the visible dust and debris on the vents). In my defense, our previous house had forced hot-water heating and window A/C units, so I was a little vague on how often to clean the ducts or even how necessary cleaning them is. Evan found mold in some of the ducts and on a few vents, so he sanitized the ducts and helped me size the covers for replacement. He also changed the filter on one of our furnaces (pretty dirty) and told me that both furnace filters were improperly placed (the attic furnace had too small a filter to work properly). More than all of this, though, he said that the ducts had lost their seals over their lifetimes (36 years, the age of the house), and in one place, a duct needed bending into place. The drafty ducts brought attic air into the system, which isn't ideal (and likely causes higher energy costs). I plan to have him return to do the sealing. He also mentioned that the attic fan was running unnecessarily, which I hadn't known and didn't realize should be monitored (only necessary during the hotter summer months). Finally, I had him check and clean our chimney. I didn't get a quote upfront because I didn't know how many vents we have, though I'd looked into duct cleaning previously and believe that Evan's price is competitive.
