Hired to clean my dryer vent. I will say the tech who showed up was very nice and he even took his shoes off when he came in. He cleaned my vent from the outside in (which I thought was strange) because I was told he would do this**the technician will disconnect the vent from the dryer machine itself , and then from the inside-out he will clean the vent from lint and everything inside with specially designed equipment only for the dryer vent. If possible he will clean the outside of the vent as well ( If it is not too high in the air exit )** So he actually didn't disconnect the dryer from the inside first, he actually had it turned on while he cleaned it from the outside. 1. I could hear it running and 2. I could hear the alert it makes when it turns off). I could see everything blowing out and all over the place outside, also I heard a loud noise but then nothing so I figured it was just part of cleaning, about 10 minutes later the tech calls me downstairs, the dryer is now disconnected and he told me he found all these broken plastics pieces just inside the vent where the dryer connects. He has no Idea at all what happened or what the pieces are. I go upstairs and google and it looks like the blower wheel broke apart. The tech now reconnects the dryer and turns it on and it makes a loud noise, He says "maybe it's unbalanced" I mean really??! I mean maybe the piece would have broke anyway (dryer 8 years old) but at the very least admit it happened. He had the dryer on previously while he was cleaning and it sounded fine. So anyway I pay him because he did clean the vent, I want to pay CC , he suggests venmo, I say cc is fine , he says he'll have to charge me a percentage for fees, I told him I didn't care, so he goes to put thru card then all of a sudden says he just got a text and the system is down so I have to pay another way...Ok..LOL. So he leaves and I looks outside and there was Lint everywhere! I told him he didn't need to go crazy picking up every piece but he didn't pick up anything, All over my bushes, grass, blew up to my deck. The more I thought about it I decided to email the company with pictures, told I would hear back Tuesday. They wanted to send the tech back so I could explain what he didn't do?? then they gave me this explanation**** *** Technician said that he cleaned your dryer vent from both sides. From the inside - out and from the outside - in. When he touched the hose from the inside out , he found plastic pieces inside of the vent, which he reported right away to you . He believes that those pieces were from a dryer blower ( plastic blowers are rare and this probably means that it needs to be changed ) . Those pieces were already there , generally he doesn't touch the machine itself at all which means he couldn't cause those pieces to be there. As for the mess, he says that he picked up like 95% of it , but because it is kinda picky small stuff and the dryer vent was clogged a lot, so the smaller portion of it was probably blown by the wind around the bushes . He says also that you have seen him how he looked after that and he told you that because of that clogness the blower was putting too much force and probably got overheated and that caused those broken plastic pieces. That is what he said , if you want to have a word directly with him please let us know, or suggest what we should do. Thank you.**** I mean the plastic pieces were already there?? he cleaned up 95 percent?? and I'm the one who told the tech what I thought the pieces were!?? Honestly a manager/owner should take responsibility for his employees and not go back and forth with a customer. Also they state they are BBB accredited and they are not. Stanley Steamer came to my home, assesses my unit, explained all that would be done & emailed me a quote. I decided to shop around. Requested a quote from Lowe's Cleaning service. Over the phone, Nik sounded nice & explained what was involved like Stanley Steamer did. However, the price quoted was 50% less than Stanley Steamer. I asked Nik, why is the price so significantly lower than their competitors? Nik's response was "it's because Lowe's promotional pricing." I asked Nik, if there is something I am not asking or thinking of that would make the price so different. Nik assured me that there are no gimmicks just a promotion that includes duct deep cleaning, sanitizing, deodorizing, and air freshener. So, I scheduled to have Lowes clean the ducts and my bathroom vents (additional charge). When the technician arrived, he was not friendly but we're not here to make friends. My neighbor happened to see me & she too agreed he was not friendly. (1) Anyway, when the technician looked over my unit he said bathroom was not included. I said yes, that's what is in the quoted price. I called Nik who spoke to the technician in there language (European). The technician said he doesn't want to be responsible for the exhaust fan. I told him, my son & I will move the exhaust fan you can have access to the vent. He agreed. (2) Once the exhaust fan was moved, the technician said, it's not dirty & won't clean. I tried to explain that the vent extender was clean but not the whole vent. Because of the language barrier, I called Nik again. (3) Nik spoke to the technician, in their language. Nik got back on the phone with me. The vent is clean. I explained the vent extender. Nik ignored my explanation of I saw the vent when the exhaust fan was installed & the vent needs cleaning. Nik said I am wrong, it's probably my cheap China made exhaust fan that was made incorrectly causing reverse polarity & pushing the air out vs pulling the air in. ** Also, bathroom fans don't get dirty or dusty because of the moisture in the bathroom. I (Nik) am on a recorded line & if you can prove your vents are dirty, I will pay for another company to clean your vent. Dust only collects on the exhaust fan. The technician only cleaned the air ducts, asked for payment only for the ducts & left. (4) As my son & I talked, it made me think if I received all of the services. I called Nik again and asked, how will the sanitizing take place? Nik said, the tech will bring in a tool to ad fog in the furnace. I said to Nik, the technician did not do that. So, Nik had to call the technician to return to my home. I'm thinking what else did the technician not complete? But I was fed-up, at this point. (5) I send Nik pictures of my dirty bathroom vents and still was not contacted to honor the statement to pay to have my bathroom vents cleaned, if I can prove my vent was dirty. BEWARE! read more

Very professional service: We bought our house in April 2020 and during the inspection, the inspector suggested to get the vent/duct cleaned. Our neighbor referred Lowe's Cleaning Services. We made an appointment and the person (Mickey),who came for our house for duct cleaning, was good. He was not in rush, took his time and did 100% satisfactory job. Mickey was also very explanatory in regards to all the questions we had. His advice for changing the furnace air filters periodically is going to be so helpful, which we wouldn't have known. First and foremost, they were quite competitive on price. They came in a few hundred dollars less than some of the other companies as well. But still more expensive than a groupon type of company (where you never know what you're gonna get). They were prompt, called 30 minutes prior to confirm, and professional. The problem with choosing an affordable service is that you often get what you pay for. Lowe's Cleaning Services is the worst company I have ever encountered. They are condescending and treat their customers like trash. The initial cleaning was fine and we asked them to come back again for a dryer vent cleaning.They originally quoted me $249 for the basic cleaning package and an additional $30 for dryer vent cleaning. First we opted for the basic package and realized later that we also should have gotten the dryer vent cleaned. When I called back, I was told I would be charged $100 for the dryer vent cleaning to which I reminded them that they were also cleaning all of my neighbor's vents (a referral from me that I now regret) the same day we wanted them to come back so it would not be an extra cost (gas-wise). After some back and forth, the manager got on the phone: Manager: "You didn't tip our guy last time so he was not happy. It will be difficult to get him to go back to your house unless you promise to tip. I can lower the price to $50, but you have to promise to tip at least $20" Me: "It is not standard to tip for vent cleaning unless the person is working overtime or goes above and beyond what the job requires. Manager: "Well, the guy was upset, so I don't know if he'll want to accept your job if you don't promise a tip." Me: "I can't promise something in advance of not knowing what the service will be like." Manager: "You know, in America...we tip." (silence as I'm completely speechless) Me: I'm American and I grew up here, but thanks for the reminder. (obviously, this is beside the point. no one should be treated this way regardless of where they are from. it was the only retort i could think of at the time) I took an informal poll the next day in my office of 2K+ people. No one said they would tip for vent cleaning unless the person did something extraordinary beyond what they were paid to do. To everyone considering using Lowe's to clean your vents, don't bother unless you want to feel like garbage. To Lowe's management: treat your customers with respect and please pay your employees a living wage so they don't have to rely on "promised" tips from customers to survive. read more

10 stars! Mick was sent to clean an old air duct who the previous owner had neglected to do for I believe over a decade. The dust and dirt was so caked on to all the air duct grills that it took him over several hours just to clean and disinfect. I am giving extra 5 stars as he had to come back due to renovations being done and was not able to do his work at the time and promised he would return again. He was prompt on both occasions.
