I ended up having to go back again after realizing I also needed a VIN verification - to anyone needing ONLY the VIN verification, you don't need to go to the lanes for the emissions testing, you can park outside the doors at the side of the building. This place was an awful experience. The manager who's ID#11233, deemed my car unable to be tested because of the traction control. I have never heard this before, all he would tell me is I need to have it looked at and bring it back. Took it to the dealer and they found nothing wrong with the car and said it sounds like the guy was full of it and to take it somewhere else. I then took it down the street to your competition in Golden and it passed with no issues. Thanks for wasting my time, and your techs are rude and don't seem like they want to work or help people. I had a great experience here! I stopped by on a Thursday around lunchtime and was prepared to wait for at least the 14 minute wait time that was listed on the website. As I drove up, somebody immediately flagged me down to head right into the bay for my emissions test...no wait at all! The techs were all incredibly friendly. I came in for a VIN inspection on my company vehicle from out of state. The lady at the desk could not tell me the difference between a VIN verification and inspection and made it very clear that she was not going to assist me in clarifying. When she came outside she kept making remarks about me being in her way even after I apologized. When I was going through paperwork in my glovebox, she asked for specific documents from me but then said I didn't need them and she couldn't care less? I'm a former employee at Air Care Colorado. One of the most corrupt jobs I've ever worked. To put it simply, if you didn't have connections with HQ, or liked by the management teams. You were treated like you weren't shit. There was a time when a few employees got caught drinking on the job, instead of taking immediate termination actions, the managers swept it under the rug like nothing happened. After that incident, fellow employees started to do whatever they wanted like drinking, smoking weed, wax, etc. because if management wasn't going to take action for serious violations, there's nothing stopping them. Keep in mind we're in charge of other people's vehicles, so being sober is a MUST!!! A few months after the first drinking incident, a couple of employees got caught drinking on the job again, only this time they fired the guy they didn't like, and kept the other employee because the manager was "close" with her. To this day, the company, it's managers, and the employees that got caught drinking, or consuming other forms of drugs are still there. You might ask, "why didn't I go to HR about these incidents?" Well HR could care less, they're just looking for paycheck. Emissions in Colorado needs to be abolished if this is how the company will continue to run. The blonde lady in the front asked me a question and I didn't fully understand. a few seconds later it clicked for me and I corrected my answer. by then it was too late as she had already processed a document. she ended up having to redo it. She was quite rude in response to my misunderstanding. it made me uncomfortable during the process that I don't understand much in the first place. They were fast and seemed to be cheap. It was a little confusing on where to wait for your car and how to know when it was ready.

Polite and hardworking. I know these shops get a bad wrap but they are understaffed and constantly working as there are always lines. I work in centennial but live in northern Lakewood. For 3 days, as I drove home from work, I drove past 3 different locations to see if the line was decent and every time it was not. So, on a Friday I went and got in line at the golden location around 745am and waited for them to open. There were already 8 cars in front of me but when they opened it only took about 15 minutes to get through. I see bad reviews about people complaining about the wait time but their staff cannot control how many people are constantly showing up yet they push through. From what I saw I don't think they ever have slow days. So, try and go first thing in the morning, or take your chances with other times during the day with the rest of the mass majority of Coloradans. Pack a book, a snack, maybe load Netflix on your phone and just be patient and kind back to them. read more

I looked on the website for the wait times and the ARVADA location just said open- indicated no wait time. it said there were 7 lanes so I was hopeful the wait wouldn't be bad. Turns out only 3 lanes were open? No wait time on the site. I had to move lanes for whatever reason. After waiting for an hour to go through the process - once my car was done there was only one check out person for two lanes so you have to wait for that as well. Not sure why doing this stuff has to be utter torture. Probably lack of staffing, they have signs everywhere saying they are hiring for $17/hr which not very many folks can live off of. I got through but it's like why have this website where you are trying to be transparent and it's just lies? Just be aware the wait is probably going to be way longer than you expect read more

First of all they should eliminate all of these stations. Since they can test your vehicle in about one second as it drives onto an onramp these testing vehicles should be placed in specific areas and these large testing centers completely eliminated. The wasted time here is ridiculous. I needed to get a test and checked the wait time. Instead of the usual 60 minute wait time the website said there was "only" a 20 minute wait so I rushed over and got there a few minutes before 5PM with plenty of time to spare before the 5:30 closing time. There was one car in front of me waiting to pick up an entry coupon but the street to the coupon machine had a row of cones blocking the entry. Guess what? They were closed. Arbitrarily shut down and would not any other cars in. MR. TRUMP, TEAR DOWN THIS WALL!! read more

I visited station 5004E (44th Ave) on 7/29 at 3:30pm. There were two lines and I chose the wrong one. The other line served 3 cars for every one my line served. If you have an AWD vehicle DO NOT choose the inside lane number 6. The "45 min wait" turned into two and a half hours. At some point the long line behind us realized they could just go through the much quicker and shorter 2 wheel drive lane and once at the front the workers would just moved them to be the next in line of lane 6, skipping everyone in line. They did this 7 separate times letting 7 different cars just skip everyone. So pro tip, if you want to skip the AWD lane just go in the 2 wheel drive lane and you'll get to cut everyone! read more

Spent around 5 hours over 3 days to get emissions for 2 cars at the Broomfield location. First day (Tues) waited about 1 hr and 15 mins before our Accord finally got in the bay. Our car goes zooming through and out of the bay. Some kid said he couldn't test it because the TPMS light was on. It took me 10 seconds to hit 2 buttons to recalibrate and the TPMS light went out. But, since he drove it out of the bay, I would have to get back in line. Pissed by then, so I brought the car back the next day and waited about 1 hr and 30 minutes before car passed inspection. The next day I took our other car for the inspection. Took 2 hours and 10 minutes before car got into the bay. This location has 4 lanes, but only 2 were open this whole time. When my car was finally in the bay, they decided to open a 3rd lane (of course). The other 2 days before only 2 lanes were open both those days. WTF, over 2 hours to get an inspection? Ridiculous. Obviously Air Care Colorado doesn't give a rat's ass about the wait times. A lady (who was really nice) said it's like this (wait times) all the time now. read more

Denver location on Warren Street. Only 2 of 6 bays open and the staff completely forgot about the lane I was in when moving cars forward. Even lied when asked about it and said my car wasn't eligible to use the lane I was sitting in. Another person finally signaled for me to move forward into the lane the other person lied about. A necessary evil. Not a place I love going but it's more pleasant than the dentist. The earlier you go the easier it is to get through quickly. Sometimes early AM you see a line but that's just the early birds. Have to go so may as well get it over then head into work. Have never arrived after nine so I can't say how it is. Looking at past photos and reviews it sounds like a thirty minute plus wait just to enter. Ugh. The waiting areas could use a new coat of paint. Think of waiting for ages at your local dealership while your car is serviced. It's ok but not comfortable for sure. Can't say if the Denver locations are any better. This is one of the closest inspection locations near my home so i continue to go. My car was through quickly and I was given a piece of paper and invoice. Wasn't cheap considering what they did but you have to comply with big brother. read more

Being new to Colorado, the emissions process and need for VIN Verification are all new to me. I was feeling pretty anxious and dreading my visit to take care of these details before getting my car registered. However, the Arvada Air Care location made it all so quick and easy! I went in on a Friday afternoon and was done in 15-20 minutes. Each of the three staff members I interacted with were friendly and welcoming. As stated on their website, if you only need a VIN verification, go directly to the office. But if you also need an emissions test, just let the technician know when you pull into a line. There are two line types: one for vehicles with all wheel drive and one for standard vehicles. So, figure that out before you arrive. read more

The Parker location has only one bay open, it said 26 minute wait but the first day I tried I was there for an hour and there were at least 15 cars ahead. I tried again on the next day getting there by 7:45 there were already 10+ cars waiting, they opened at 8:00 and I was out of there at 9:15. I only dealt with one employee who was extremely curt and not at all friendly. Thank goodness I don't have to do that again for 2 years. plan at least 2+ hours if you go to the Parker location. read more

I'll will begin by saying that I have only done emissions for my vehicles at locations in Denver. Never before at this location. My past experiences have been positive. Having moved to Wheat Ridge and purchased a used car, I found myself very near this location and popped by with my wife riding shotgun after a quick lunch on December 28th around 1:30. I got my ticket at the gate and pulled into the non AWD lane being my car is rear wheel drive. A young lad approached my driver's side window and claimed I should be in the AWD cue and not this one. "All AMG's are all wheel drive! Your in the wrong lane!". Knowing full well what make, model and drive configuration my car has, I told him politely that he was incorrect. He walked away with a discouraged look on his face. So be it.... As requested we moved up in the line to just behind the truck in front of us and another gentleman came up and asked us to put the car in park, leave the ignition keys and step out of the vehicle. We jumped out and headed towards the waiting area vestibule and approached the entrance. A very aggressive bearded 55-60 year old in a knitted winter cap, boots and a clipboard snapped at me and my wife. "Is that your car pal?" Yes it is I proclaimed. He trounced..."I guess I'll have to pull it into the bay for you" with a very angry snare and aggressive tone. I spun around, telling him we were just instructed to do so. He spun around and proceeded to get up in my face and ask if I had some kind of "fucking" problem? Whoa. I've been in a few street fights in my day and know what usually happens next. I don't fall for it anymore like my younger days. My wife and I entered the door to the waiting area while he continued to bait me into a physical conflict with threats of "kicking my ass." It gets better. Three different personnel moved my car out of the non AWD line and into the AWD line against their policy and signage. Oh well. We grabbed our receipt for the test and got the hell out of there. Happy New Year Everybody! And never again at that location...... read more

I would leave a 0 star review if I could. Im currently waiting in line, been here for 1.5 hours already and there are still at least 6 cars ahead of me, so at least an hour wait. I showed up at 8am, there was no one directing the lines and no clear organization system. Every employee has been extremely rude as well. I will not be returning to this location or Air Care as a whole, I will find somewhere else to get emissions done and I recommend that you do the same. read more

Went to pass emissions and an employee there drove the car with the handbrake on. The car obviously started smoking because the employee drove the car 4 times. When I talked to the manager who not so politely said I can do a claim with them. And wanted their mechanic to look at the damage their employee did to the car. Not a mechanic but their mechanic. If they can't even put down the handbrake, I wouldn't trust their mechanic to look at the car. And after all that not only did they did charge me, but failed the car for emissions. Instead of offering to run the emissions again free of charge without the handbrake, said to pay up. I don't recommend going to this location if you value your car and don't want it damaged. read more

The service was awful at the Littleton facility! Prior to going tried to check the wait times on the website - It has been down all day. I went anyway; I had arranged my schedule and was prepared for a wait since many companies are short on staff, As anticipated, it was over 30 minute to make it to the service bay. Once at the service bay i was "greeted" by very disagreeable guy, Travis, who was unhelpful and discourteous. I asked for a range of how long the wait would be 5 minutes? 30 minutes? so I could wait outside due to Covid (and since outside, I was not be able to see when the car was finished). He responded - I don't know, every care is different. I again asked for a range, not a guarantee, and he responded rudely I can't give you one and turned and walked away. I went inside to the indoor waiting area after 20 minutes so I would know if the care was ready. It was already completed and sitting out front, However, I wasn't called for another 10 minutes to pay. When paying I spoke to David the manager who said he would talk with Travis. Too bad we don't have any choice of vendors and are stuck with this company with staff who behave like Travis and such poor service. read more

Lipan St. I needed a vin verification along with my emissions test because I was registering a vehicle from NY to CO. The charge was $25 extra, but if I had waited and gotten the vin verification at the Denver County MV office it would only have been $20. $5 isn't much, but it bugged me. Besides that, the employee who did the test was really nice, great customer service. He gets 5 stars. read more

So I needed an emissions test yet it was right during a COVID surge and we've been hunkering down. Ugh! Colorado does have a website which indicates the approximate wait time. Still you have to be fast! I had previously tried the facility in Golden but by the time I got there the wait time had gone to over 20 minutes from like 8 minutes. Anyway when I checked this facility it indicated 8 minutes and I drove directly there with all due speed. Turns out this facility moved me right along. Apparently emissions testing has changed from the last time I needed it. Now I was able to stay in my vehicle (masked and gloved). They do an initial review as you enter the facility. Then they put you in line and when you pull in they perform the testing though unlike years ago they don't test your car by spinning the wheels. Instead they plug into your car and do other simple things that had me out of there fairly quickly. There was no waiting beyond a couple of minutes and we are now able to pay with credit card. Before they needed cash or a check. Easy peasy! I had been dreading this process so I brought two masks in case I had to wait inside their waiting area which is bad news during this COVID time. However nowadays this process is quick and this time was pretty quick plus I stayed in the car not this lengthy but narrow waiting room. The people were all masked and efficient. By and large there was social distancing although they do open your car door once or twice so the six foot rule was not practiced at those times even though they moved with as much speed as they could. Overall I'm pleased with this facility and while it's not a pleasurable experience it was fairly fast and efficient. I would make sure the day of or day before that you travel more then a few blocks and hit a brisk pace to prevent any issues with carbon buildup or not being ready to get tested. In these times We are driving much less we have to so get the car moving briskly for a little bit to keep it from getting into problems from lack of use. This facility worked out best for us so worth a try. I went mid week just after lunchtime after checking the website for wait time and that was best for me. read more

I was one car behind my girlfriend and it took me an extra 25 minutes to leave this incompetently run facility. Both vehicles are regular, front-wheel-drive, everyday cars with no special needs and no emissions failures. It's bad enough that the State of Colorado is addicted to the revenue of these useless facilities and it's extremely maddening that they can't hire competent managers and staff! Another driver came into the line 15 minutes after us and was out in another 10 minutes. It was a 2010 Corvette so the OBDII test was not the reason.
