Last week, my rental property in SJ faced an unexpected issue as my trusty air conditioner from 1999 finally ceased its 24-year-long service. Remarkably, it endured for a whole 24 years. Given the urgency of the situation, I turned to Dimitri, who had been highly praised by a close friend for his exceptional integrity and top-notch craftsmanship demonstrated at two of her properties. Responding promptly, Dimitri visited the very next day to assess the situation and provide a quote. Without delay, he ordered the 3 Ton Bryant System. A week later he installed it today! Notably, my tenant was astounded by Dimitri's workmanship and attention to detail. Not content with just addressing the air conditioning concern, he identified and brought to my attention neglected areas such as the copper piping, filter grill and electrical box, all required replacement. In a testament to his honesty and professionalism, Dimitri could have simply focused on the installation and left these issues unaddressed. I had also asked if the duct work should be replaced as some of the rooms were not receiving air flow. He recommended that we install the AC first to see how the new unit will work before replacing the duct work. He could have easily told me it was needed. This is honesty at its finest :). Without a doubt, Dimitri is an expert you can wholeheartedly trust for any air conditioning work. His dedication to quality and his willingness to go above and beyond make him the ideal choice for your AC needs. read more

I called Dmitri when my A/C stopped working during a heat wave. He was fully booked for a week. However, he was able to squeeze me into his schedule and fixed the issue in the same afternoon. My A/C is working now and it's a big help coz of the heat wave. He's professional and his price is competitive. Highly recommended. read more

Dimitri was the only vendor to come back with a quote from my original inquiry from March. Once I contacted them again several months later, he was at my door the next day to verify the work that would be required. We discussed air conditioning, because my electrical panel is old, updating is required and would need to be completed before final A/C installation. We decided to go ahead and add the A/C coil so I wouldn't have to pay more later for updating the ducting as it had to be changed to fit the new furnace anyway. He gave a good recommendation for using the BTU size for our house. This, combined with moving the thermostat near the air intake really changed the way the house feels. There are less cold and hot spots in the house compared to our old setup. I'll be calling them again after the electrical updates are made so we can add the A/C. read more

Dmitri was very quick response and set me up with a appointment next early morning to help check our heater, he found out the issue immediately once he got in the house, he told us we need to change filter every three months. This is a common mistake made by people, but Dmitri was very nice and gave us a free estimate even fix the issue without charging us, I asked if we need to clean ducts, he said no need at all, just change filter is ok. thank you Dmitri very much to solve our problems! I highly recommend Air AC Construction to everyone because of their professional and kindness! read more

Went on Yelp and did a search looking for someone who could help us with our Carrier furnace that all of a sudden stopped working a few days ago. The Yelp engine pulled up a couple of other businesses (Air AC Construction was one of them) when I asked it to send out the job to others and I'm so glad that they included Air AC Construction. Dmitri was very responsive on messaging and come by as promised and on time. When I turned on the furnace, it was working for some reason. I felt a little bad because he made a trip out here but the furnace seemed to be working fine. He took the time to explain to me that it likely shut down temporarily because of a variety of reasons. Before leaving he gave me tips to keep the filters changed frequently and let me know that the thermostat module that we have could cause a problem in the future and we may need to replace it. He didn't try to upsell or recommend anything I didn't need. Overall, he was very courteous, wearing a mask and wiping his shoes before entering the house, honest, knowledgeable about his craft and I'm sure amazing to work with. Air AC will be my go to for any furnace related issues in the future! read more

I am delighted to write this review. I still can't tell if it's a Bay Area problem or it's generally true, finding a reliable contractor has been incredibly challenging in the last few years. After interviewing six HVAC contractors, I decided to go with Dmitri and couldn't be more glad. Dmitri replaced our 30-year-old furnace and installed a new AC (we never had one before). My place wasn't easy to work with (lacked electrical fitting, AC lines) and required out-of-the-box thinking. I think, among other good points that reviewers have mentioned, problem solving is Dmitri's unique strength. He made the same job look easy that all the other 5 contractors thought was highly complex. I have followed up with him few times (inspection, HOA issues etc.) and his post install service has been top notch as well. read more

My 29-yr Heater totally stopped working Wednesday this November. Need to replace ASAP to keep the family warm. Contacted several contractors for pricing. Dmitri provided the best pricing for Carrier heater with robust warranty. Dmitri also provided further discount since my next door neighbor was replacing heater at the same time. Equipment was purchased and installed the next Week. Very happy with Dmitri. read more

My AC failed late night during the hottest time of the year. AC Air was able to respond quickly (within minutes!) and was willing to come in first thing in the morning. They arrived on time and got the job done quickly. Without their help, I would have been living in 100 degrees without AC for a day or two. Such a life saver! read more

I got referred to Dmitri from a Chinese website and it is told that he is really good at AC repair( which turned out to be true) I hired different contractor for quote and the ones before Dmitri seems not have a lot of patients and immediately dropped the conclusion that my AC pipe might be leaking and he couldn't fix it, he offered to add some Freon for $550. ( my scenario is 1 AC unit and split to 2nd and 3rd floor, 3rd floor works fine and 2nd floor does not have any flow coming in) I was suspecting that 2nd floor controller is having the issue so I asked Dmitri to double check for me today. He first use a machine to check and detect no leak of my AC pipeline( which I thought so too) then he double checked my 3rd floor and 2nd floor AC blowing port and eventually determined my 2nd floor control panel is bad, after opened it he found out the controller is fried with black marks, so the only solution is to replace that since Honeywell no longer produced the 10 years old controller. I happened to have a nest controller so I asked Dmitri's help to replace the Honeywell controller with nest, right after replacement the 2nd floor AC started working( hasn't been working for half a year). The total end up charge is $225 which I think it is fair. PS: I would highly recommend Dmitri if you have a problem with your AC, he and his crew did look really professional and most importantly patient! Thank you Dmitri. read more

Dimitri did such an amazing job installing a new AC! Also provides the permit if needed Im so glad my husband found him on yelp! Doesnt leave until everything is working doesnt rush and explains everything and answers my questions! Made sure all the vents work in my house one by one Poor guy went in my attic and came back out dripping sweat! Very hard working team! Very very happy with them! Thank you read more

I found this company on Yelp as I asked for several quotes from various companies and Dmitri was one of the first to respond and his availability worked well with mine. His initial trip was to diagnose the problem and it was determined that it was a pretty good sized job for him to get my heater working again before the winter. He told me the issue, quoted me, rescheduled a follow up appointment and just got the job done. He was responsive, reasonably priced, punctual, and quickly diagnosed the issue. I could not ask for more from a heating and AC company. Please give Dmitri an opportunity if you have any heating or AC issues. read more

Dimitri was nothing short of Fantastic! They showed up early (I was impressed) went right to work on the diagnostics and in a very short period of time showed me the defective capacitor which was the source of my ACs problem! He had the right capacitor on his truck and replaced it in a very short period of time and tested the unit. The thing I was most impressed with was the manner in which Dimitri explained the problem, what probably caused the capacitor to fail, all in a very simplistic manner in which my wife and I could understand. The time in took to get a appointment, showing up on time, having the part on his truck, replacing it at a very reasonable rate, and his explanation of what went wrong were utterly fantastic. I will call him immediately on my next problem that I may have with heating/AC! read more

Dimitri was responsive and informed me of what the heating issue was and recommendation to keep the unit functioning. It is a very old wall heater unit and will need to be replaced. However he got it working for now and advised how much a replacement would be when I asked him. Very straightforward and professional. I will call Air AC Construction from here in. Very impressed! read more

tl;dr: Dmitri was reasonably priced, quick to complete the job, and professional from beginning to end. Go hire him without reservation. Detailed: I reached out to various contractors and they were a bit pricier. Dmitri explained that we could get the same name brand AC system or save with a generic version that uses the same manufactured parts. After some research, he was correct. Warrant was the same too. So, I saved myself about $2k. On the day of the job, his crew crew covered the flooring with sheets, managed to work through some tricky wiring in my old house, and got AC running by the same day. Amazing. HOA approved. City Inspector approved. I cannot express how happy I am with his service. Shop around, but look no further. Dmitri is your best solution. Super friendly too :) read more

I am residential real estate agent. So I work with vendors all the time. I have a great network of professionals from plumbers, electricians, contractors. Like anything its a constant evolving list. I typically don't like to use large companies because you never know who you are going to get. I like owners of small firms, and I like to have a good relationship with them. When my previous HVAC professional moved out to Arizona last year, I was scrambling to find a new reliable contact. I had tried a couple of different people, but it didn't work out. You see these guys are busy and their is no shortage of work out there for them, so they can be picky and in some cases you get attitude. I was so relieved to meet Dmitri with Air AC Construction. He was direct. Did a great job and did it in time. I felt like he was going to be a good contact. I then referred him out to some of my clients and they were super pleased as well. I still didn't have a great relationship with him, but I felt that he was a good guy. So fast forward to yesterday. I get a call from an agent who is representing the buyer on a listing. The home is about to close escrow in a few days and during their walk through the furnace wouldn't turn on. So I contact Dmitri at 10 PM at night and ask if he can take a look at it. He gets back to me and says he is really busy, which of course is understand able, but asks me where the home is. Fortunately it was in Palo Alto and he had a job in Menlo Park so he says he can stop by. He was on time and started trouble shooting the issue right away. Turns out it was a bad thermostat and he got it replaced within a 20 minutes. Cleaned up the furnace and did a quick tune up. If you are looking for a new AC or heater, give Dmitri a call. He has my complete endorsement and will be referring all my clients to him. read more

Dimitri responded my txt message right away and visited us 2 days later at 8 am on time, and provided us the quote that evening. He clearly answered all my questions and provided professional solution which exactly meet our needs. Dimitri arrived on time on day of installation. It took a full day for the installation, and everything went smoothly except as my house is very old, there is some unexpected pipe conditions, he immediately solved the issue with his extensive experience and patience. thank you again Dimitri! we finally have our AC installed, and furnace replaced. I would highly recommend Dimitri to anyone who needs the furnace and AC installation and repairing. read more

Highly recommend! Dimitri was professional, on time, clean, and reasonably priced. I had him come out and replace an old gas wall furnace. I would HIGHLY recommend Dmitri! We got our furnace replaced and AC installed in the summer. He responded very quickly on Yelp when I looked for a quote, he showed up on time (he said 8am in the morning then he showed up at 8am!), he gave reasonable quote, he and his dad worked very professionally and with high quality, he communicated clearly why we need to do this and do that, they cleaned things up after work. Also, he contacted later to see if everything worked correctly. Two things I want to highlight. We lived in the townhouse and when he almost finished installing the AC, our neighbor came and said she wanted us to remove it because of the potential noise (though we actually got her approval before the project started)! Dmitri explained to her where the AC unit was installed and her it shouldn't impact her house and he followed all the regulations, many many thanks to Dmitri for his professionalism! The other was that he helped us get the permit free of charge. He needed to talk to the city for it and fill the application etc.. During the waiting process, he proactively and consistently sent messages and kept us updated on the progress. Because of Covid, the inspector didn't want to come to our place for the inspection, Dmitri came in the morning and communicated with the inspector and we got the permit. I would definitely recommend him and we were so glad that we hired him! read more

Dmitri was great to work with. I used the "Yelp Quotes" tool and sent requests to 5 companies. Out of all of them, his response was the most no-nonsense. "Yes I can fix it. I'll be there tomorrow." After 5 years, our new HVAC decided to go on the blink - no less on one of the hottest days of 2020. Going on YELP for recommendations, I was given 4 company's who all responded within 10 min of my post for help. Of the four, Dimitri with AC/AIR was the only one who was able to avail himself within a day. Upon his arrival, he immediately determined the problem with my AC compressor. He showed up 2 days later in the early am with the new part and problem resolved! Dimitri was on time, knowable, and extremely skilled at what he does. Great PR skills, respectful and supportive. In a nut shell, if your in need for a qualified HVAC service professional - Dimitri is a serious contender! Good luck read more

Dmitri was excellent. Great work, fair, honest, etc. Would hire again and recommend in a second.

Thank you, Dimitri for your quick turn around on installing a new furnace and Nest thermostat in our home! We appreciated not only that you fit our job in ASAP, but the speed with which you accomplished the task on the day of the installation. We appreciated how available you were to answer our questions both before the job began and then again while you were onsite, how attentive you were to details (like adding a plate behind the Nest thermostat to cover the unpainted area from the previous thermostat), and how clean you left the space. It's rare to find an installer who is knowledgeable, patient, professional, and who can be relied on. You were all these things and more! We're very happy with the work and would recommend you to anyone! read more

Highly recommended! With impeccable timing, our very old furnace sprang a gas leak in the middle of a cold snap and a pandemic. After leaving messages with a few HVAC companies and then sitting around for two days huddled under electric blankets, we put out a message on Yelp. Dmitri responded quickly and then arrived just as fast. He got his hands on a replacement furnace even sooner than he'd promised and was able to come over and install it right away. He was prompt, professional, tidy, and a good communicator. He and his assistant both wore masks and followed social distancing guidelines. It turned out to be a slightly more complicated installation than expected due to a wiring issue, but Dmitri had the know-how and patience to get the job done. We'll definitely call him the next time we need this kind of work! read more

Another GREAT review for Air AC Construction! We first hired Dimitri in 2018 to replace our thermostat and he did a fantastic job at a fair price. He knew exactly what was going on with the heater, fixed the issue and now my heater is working perfectly. I HIGHLY recommend Air AC Construction. read more

Dmitry immediately responded to my Yelp inquiry within 10 minutes of sending out the request (AC unit was not pumping out cold air). Scheduling was easy. This was the second time I hired Air AC. They came out within 12 hours of my yelp inquiry during a wildfire producing choking smoke that kept us indoors and a 100 degree heat wave when they undoubtedly had more work than they could handle.
