We stopped at LA 57 near the Ennis Welcome Center and were amazed at the quality of the shop. I ordered a hot latte and my wife ordered an iced latte. Both drinks were absolutely delicious. Smooth and perfectly rich. My hot latte's milk was expertly steamed. The shop is large with plenty of seating. The staff was fast and friendly, and the bathroom was very clean. What more can you ask for in a coffee shop in a small town? Well, they had a lot of delicious looking pastries in their display case, but alas, we just ate lunch. I have used her for showers before and she always makes stunning baked masterpieces that look beautiful and taste heavenly. I have started calling her my "cupcake goddess" because her baked goods are out of this world. She is tremendously dependable and always delivers exactly when she says she will. Even though I hadn't hosted shower in a couple of years, she instantly recognized by contact when I called her to order for this shower. The customer service is the best I have ever had with a baker and I have ordered from the best in Dallas. She is the only baker I use now for entertaining.

When I picked it up, it did not look like my inspiration pictures. There were purple flowers on the sides with pink one (no purple in the inspiration pic), no pearls, no vintage lattice work-just pipped the flowers on the sides with green stems (no stems in the pic) and the top writing. I was disappointed. I asked them to include blue flowers to balance out that it felt a little too girly, and they went back and added them which made it look better. I am not sure if the inspo pics got lost in the shuffle or if too much creative lee-way was taken but either way, I felt a little let down but was not going to let it ruin my day. However, on the drive home I still felt like it was pretty, but just not what I had in mind. I decided to call Bittersweet which is local to us and ask if they could add a few elements like the lattice and pearls. Faith was so kind on the phone and told me to bring it in being also clear that they aren't gluten free. I understood, but since we don't have true allergies I told her I was comfortable with them fixing it. It would not medically harm anyone if there was cross contamination. When I got there I showed her the original picture and sent it to her personal phone. Later I went to pick it up after taking my little to lunch, it came out it and was FANTASTIC! They added all the elements it was missing that I wanted and loved. It still doesn't exactly match my pictures but it looks SO cute now and I am very very happy! When I went to pay, she told me to just go enjoy my cake and that they were happy to help. THIS is how you win business, friends!! ANYTIME, I am ordering goodies, back to school treats for teachers, holiday yummies or cakes that aren't for my GF kids, I will be getting them from Bittersweet!!!! Thank you, Faith!!!

Walked in and the place doesn't look like it was cleaned from the previous business day or maybe longer. There was random food in the food cases that looked sketchy. The coffee/espresso machine looked dirty along with the rest of the kitchen area. There are tables and furniture all over the place. Books and games shoved in places and then random silverware out. Look I am all about having a comfy place to stop and have coffee. But this place really needs to stop and re-evaluate what is going on here with everything. I ordered a caramel macchiato and could only get the small. The guy making the drinks said after so many the machine over heats so could only do the small. It was not good, not sure what was missing but the flavor was terrible. I would not go back to this place in the state that it is today. If I was looking for a coffee place (non-chain) I'll head to Winnsboro or Quitman for the two coffee places available in both of those cities.
