this review is for past service, not recent service. I thought they did a good and bad job. They discovered why my unit wasn't working with EM heat, it is because the previous company did not connect the wiring. AIM A/C connected it. That's the good. The bad is, during the AC Heat service, the technician did not flush out the drain pipe. During the year, the water in the drain backed up and the safety switch stopped the AC from working. I had to find a HVAC company and pay for a service call, in which this problem should not have happened if AIM A/C flushed out my drain pipe during their service call. Add to this, it happened on a Sunday, and when I called, I learned they do not work on weekends or past there normal business hours. They went from my go to HVAC company to off my list HVAC company. read more

I had a horrible experience with this company. I would not recommend them to anyone. They'll do shoddy work, overcharge you, deny you any amount of customer service, and probably not actually fix the problem you're having. I regret contacting them, and feel robbed. My AC went out one day (unit was clicking and not cooling), so I called and they sent someone out. The technician said that my coil was leaking and was very low on refrigerant. He said that he could patch the leak, and that the issue would be resolved once more refrigerant was added. He spent about 30 minutes outside then told me that the leak was fixed and the job was done. A few days later, the unit completely stopped cooling. The house got up to 89 degrees. I called the company again. They asked when they could come out, and about 5 minutes later, and before I could respond, the same technician texted me saying he was on his way. At this point, we were frustrated with the service they provided and just told them not to come out at all. All of this cost us about $1450. Nothing was fixed and nothing was resolved. I called Garner (another company) the next day. They sent someone out who told us we still had a leak in the same spot, and that whoever tried to patch it did a shoddy job. The solder was on the bottom of the pipe, indicating that it hadn't been cleaned properly, and very little solder had actually been applied. Garner said that we needed a new coil. This would cost about $6000, and they said the part would be difficult to source. Finally, we ended up signing up for a home warranty and filling a claim in an attempt to actually get the issue resolved and save some money on (possibly) a new coil. American Home Shield (the home warranty company) dispatched Climate Control Solutions. They sent someone out who confirmed that the technician from AIM did a poor job patching the leak, and that we had no refrigerant. It all leaked out in a few days. The technician from Climate Control Solutions confidently said that the leak could be patched, and he said we wouldn't need a new coil after all. Climate Control Solutions spent about an hour and a half (compared the the 30 minutes the AIM technician spent) patching the leak. It has held for weeks now, and the issue has been resolved. At this point, I was extremely frustrated with having spent about $1450 on absolutely nothing with AIM. The technician from Climate Control Solutions indicated that the refrigerant should be warrantied with AIM, and that we should be able to get a refund for at least that, if not labor as well. After all, AIM effectively charged us $1450, without fixing anything at all. I contacted AIM after that. I explained the situation, the fact that we were charged, but nothing was resolved, and that another company was able to actually do the work effectively (for $400 by the way). I told them that I expected a refund. An office administrator answered my email, saying that their manager was on vacation and if I didn't hear anything in a few days to contact them. I didn't hear from them. I emailed again, letting them know I still expected a refund and that I hadn't heard from them. No response. A few days later, I emailed them again. No response. About a week after that, I emailed them again. No response. They are intentionally ignoring my emails, denying proper customer service, and keeping my money for a service that was ineffective and incomplete. I'd highly recommend Garner Heating and Air or Climate Control Solutions over this company. As I was writing this, a representative from AIM called in an attempt to explain away the issue. This was 10 minutes after I sent them an email saying I'd write this review. This was after about 3 weeks of no response and intentional ignoring. He was extremely rude, abrasive, dismissive, and said he wouldn't give me a refund but he'd have the owners call later. Again, don't use these people. Go somewhere else. They don't understand customer service and they're crooks. read more

Decided to go with them because they have a low $69 service fee...but they get you with their other fees. I paid over $200 for them to unclog the drain! So don't let their low service fee fool you! On the plus side the technician got here an hour early that's why the 2 star. read more

Around bedtime on a Friday night in early June, I discovered that my AC had gone out. I woke up early Saturday and called several companies. AIM was the first to return my call. They were understanding and placed me on the same-day schedule. The technician, Kenny, arrived sooner than expected, and was professional, kind, and courteous. My AC was fixed before 11 am and at a fair price. I was thoroughly impressed by the superior customer service of AIM during what was a stressful moment for me. I've had a yearly contract for several years for my home. 8 years ago I received great bid from AIM with three different options for new HVAC system with information to help make right decision for myself, the installation was perfect. We bought a house this year with a unit serviced by AIM. Twice our screen has gone out on us causing the system to shut down, once being over a holiday weekend, and both times they've prioritized us and added time to their next day schedule. Kenny came out both times, and he was super kind and very professional. He did a wonderful job, helped my husband find a shorted out wire that was the root of the problem, and had it fixed up in no time. He also got our unit flushed (no telling how long it had been), and walked us through how to better maintain the system. What a great experience with this company!! We had been told by another company that our A/C needed over $900 work due to a leak. I didn't feel good about that interaction and decided to get a second opinion. What a difference with AIM! The technician was prompt friendly and courteous, responsive to all questions and thorough with checking things out, even using two different methods to confirm. Did not try to take advantage of my problem but fixed it, saving me $900. I asked if they could be my plumber, electrician, carpenter....because I was so pleased. AIM installed a new 16 SEER unit for us this spring, and performed some A/C air-handling "corrections" on the original construction-contractor install. It has handled the heat this summer admirably. The house is cooler than on comparable days last year, and our utility bills are considerably lower, even though 2001 to 2012 is an apples to oranges comparison. I believe that this unit is more efficient and cools better. AIM offered a good pricing/cost option list, secured all our rebates for us, and got the job done in one day as promised. 3 years ago this company installed a completely new air conditioning system in our home, every single component inside and outside were replaced to the tune of $8500.00. My wife immediately complained about high humidity levels so I called them back out to inspect their work. Of course they said everything working fine. Our humidity level in this house runs about 70 at times even when ac cranked down. We started having mold problems and now furniture has mildew. We never ever had this problem and we have lived in this house over 36 years. I just wish I could file lawsuit but after they installed the ac me and my wife lost our jobs. I hope you listen to this review and don't use this company. We recently had enough money to buy a dehumidifier and started using it last night at 9:30 pm. We were wakened at 5:30 this morning by it's alarm and the drain tray was full. That's how much humidity their ac has been pumping into our house. read more

They offered loaner interior AC units to give us some relief from the heat until the scheduled install date. Kenny was outstanding in explaining issues, being proactive and getting work done right away. Angela is the easiest person to work with in the world. Estimate was clear, invoice was fast and accurate. She scheduled everything with my tenants. The best part is Kenny's phone call to let me know what he sees and his assessment. He also snaps a photo of the filter and sends it to me. The invoice has good documentation on the status of my hvac units. We had a feeling our 7 year old home was having yet another issue with the coil. Bad design, already had 2 replaced. We had a few people come in and give quotes, but Kevin was the only one who went room to room, measured and told me exactly what he would do since the unit was already overworked, undersized. Gave me options from ultra budget to top of the line which told me everything I needed to know. I waited a few weeks to ponder and sure enough, the coil decided to go out. Gave Kevin a call, had the order made and he got it done. Fast, courteous and clean and now my house is colder, consistent... and QUIET.. WOW. That new ac is about as loud as a freezer condenser and you barely know it is on. He even has my master bedroom, which was always hot in summer, cold in winter as cool as the rest of the house after some redesigned ductwork. This review is 4* simply because of the price of repair. Philip, the technician, was incredibly nice. Turns out we need a new evaporator coil and they quoted me around $922. I wanted to go with AIM because I believe in local business, but the neighbor across the street got theirs replaced for $650. I could not justify paying a higher price on a teacher income, so I sadly had to go with another company. I wish I could have given them my business. read more

After you totally dropped the ball on installing a hot air return, the office manager called me and apologized and told me that the issue would not happen again. I had hired someone else to do the work. I figured I would give them another chance when my AC Fan motor was making noise. I was told the tech would be out between 3pm and 5pm. I had even called the office manager with model numbers so they could have parts in hand, ready to install instead of having to have them come back. At 3:30pm, the guy shows up. He takes a look at my system. It is not making the noise now. He tells me that he can not replicate the issue, so he can not do anything. I turn the AC unit off myself, show him the noise as I move the fan blades the noise it makes. I tell him to check the fan motor. He tells me he can not find anything wrong and does not feel like he should charge me. He calls the office and they tell him to charge me $45 just for coming out. He leaves and the next morning. The AC motor is out. I am sitting in a house with no AC and no way to contact these folks because they do not work weekends. I leave a message telling them that his tech was WRONG and they owe me $45 because the tech did not fix the issue to begin and should have never charged me if he was not to going to even check the AC motor like I told him to. The second technician that came out was totally clueless. Before he left, he mentioned he could replace the motor but it was going to cost me over $500 for the part alone. Ironically the part and labor is usually closer to $400. I thought their part and labor prices were a little on the high side. I might have opted to have him replace the motor that day. It is pretty scary when you know a little more than the technician they sent out. Thanks but no thanks. I will not be calling you guys out again. read more

Our freon was leaking in our A/C and the whole system was 12 years old so we knew it was best to replace the entire thing. We had 3 companies give us quotes. Kevin at AIM was the only one who actually took measurements of room sizes, temperatures, etc. The other 2 companies came out, looked around and both said we needed a 3 ton unit, based merely on the fact that we had a 3 ton unit. Kevin recommended a 2.5 ton and explained why very thoroughly. I had to ask one of the 3 to email me his quote. He had expected us to make a decision based on him flipping through a bunch of charts at our house. Long story short (too late), we went with AIM and a 2.5 ton Lennox which we are loving. Kevin corrected the duct work in the attic and our front 2 bedrooms are now as cool as the rest of the house, which they had never ever been, even when it was new. 76 degrees feels cooler now than with the old system and I believe it's because the system is sized appropriately for the first time, and it's taking out more of the humidity than the oversized 3 ton unit did. Additionally, we got an excellent warranty on a highly respected name brand product and at a lower price than the other 2 companies wanted. Kevin handled the warranty registration and we've already received our rebate from the utility company. I highly recommend AIM. read more

We have used AIM for years. They provide excellent, knowledgeable service, and above all else, they are honest and show up when they say they will. A few years ago, I was told I needed a new system by someone else, but AIM was able to service my system and keep me running! The same thing happened to a friend. Another time, I needed some duct work repaired. After 2 no-shows from two other companies, AIM came right away and did this little, sweaty job for me. They charge a little more than some of the other guys, but again, they are honest, and aren't just offering a cheap deal so that they can come in and sell you a new unit. Give them a call! read more

Can't say enough great things about this company. Kevin and Sesar and their installation crew are true professionals. We actually had another AC company come out to give us a quote, but ultimately decided we wanted to go with AIM because Kevin actually sat down and explained everything so thoroughly and never made us feel like he was trying to sell us anything that we didn't really need, but rather explained what each thing did and allowed us to decide on our own what option we wanted to go with. I really appreciated that he also gave us insight on ways we could save money down the road. Kevin and Sesar are very honest and thorough in their work, and they were so down to earth and personable that they felt more like friends by the end of everything! They did an amazing job installing our new AC unit and making sure we understood how to use the controller for it. They also did an amazing job cleaning up afterwards; you honestly would have never guessed they were even here with how clean they left everything! I would absolutely recommend this company to all my friends and family if they ever had issues with their AC; especially if they're needing to get a new one. Last but not least; we LOVE our new AC! We can already tell the difference! We got the Lenoxx 20 seer with XC-20, and got an air purifier installed as well, and let me tell you, the air in our house feels so much crisper and I KNOW that air purifier MUST be working because the past week I've had to use nasal spray to open up my nasal passages bc I have been so stuffed up from whatever was in the air, and now I can actually BREATHE, and I haven't had to use any nasal spray at all! The provider was professional and was able to diagnose a rather minor problem and fix it immediately. The cost was reasonable for the service. Kevin, Jesse and the gang are fantastic. My AC went out in October, had these guys out for a second opinion. Kevin spent a good bit of time on the phone with me and sent Jesse out for an evaluation of what was going on with my system. I was fairly certain my 14 year old system was going to need to be replaced. I'd researched some things in advance and had some "ideas" that I thought I needed. Jesse and Kevin helped me pick out a highly efficient system, without adding a bunch of stuff I would have otherwise (that I didn't really need). My first bill was down $100 from the month prior and roughly $80 from last October. The service and professionalism from AIM is beyond reproach. It's not often that you find a place where you are a name and not a number anymore. The entire process, from the first phone call, I felt as though service was important to them as a company - and that I as a customer was important to them as well. We finally found an AC/Heating company we can trust. They also fixed our AC to work correctly in a 2 story house. Now the whole house can be cool at the same time. After spending several thousands for radiant barrier and window film, they installed new zone control and dampers that work correctly and keep us cool. The owner is also quick to respond to questions. Another good thing is that they are local and very close to my house in Kyle. Use local business when you can!!! read more

AIM was wonderful in a not so wonderful day for me!!! My AC went out, I reported in the evening and they were there 1st thing in the AM. After their estimate, I agreed to the service and they brought some portable units for me to use until my house could be serviced. Because of my work schedule it was 2 days until I could be there for them to service my unit. The portable units were a God sent! It kept me comfortable until they could service. Now, they could have fixed the very next day, but I was unable to get off work, so was able to keep those units until they were able to come to the house. Once they were there, the guys were professional and they kept me updated all day as they worked on my house. My unit was over 12 years old so I did have to have a total replacement. Yet, they gave me different options...basically put a band aid on it, which they would do...or replace...which I did want. The service agent was so professional , I never felt pressured at all. Because I did not need a furnace replacement he made sure I knew all my options for when I do need a furnace replacement so that I picked something that would have a furnace comparable. Thank you AIM...I will use this company again...without hesitation! read more

Beware of hidden charges and poor salesmanship. Here's my story... I have a bad A/C. I called a few companies to get 2nd opinion. I went with AIM because of these reviews. I guess you can't always believe what you read. So they come, say it could be this, that, or the other thing... and they charged me their usual fee for diagnosis...fine, fair enough. So, we get to the next stage. Try to repair. So they send out a guy with a component. They try to install it and turns out the compressor is actually shorting to ground...so, the entire unit is kaput. So, they charge me time to do that work... not happy, but fair enough. But then to really get my goat, they charge me some B.S. "pick up fee" for a part that did not even get installed. What crap is that? But, in for a penny, in for a pound. So, I negotiate for them give me a credit if they replace the entire unit. Well, they want 3% uplift on credit cards...that sucks, but they are a small business, so since I don't have the five grand in petty cash, I have to suck it up. But then, more than a week out from the appointment, I ask to go with a different unit than what we originally discussed. They tell me they want to charge me a $50 restocking fee when I never even signed nor accepted the proposal. They had already acquired the other part(s). They already charged me a previously undisclosed amount of $$$ for "pick up" of a part that I didn't even get to keep. What crap is that? These guys will nickel and dime you with hidden charges unless you get EVERYTHING IN WRITING FROM THEM UP FRONT... But, better yet, go with someone else. These guys are incredibly unfriendly and don't give a damn about long term service relationships other than to get their petty fees and to get in and get out. MOVE ON FOLKS OR YOU'LL GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR. read more
