She thought of every amenity possible to make this a luxurious experience. The house was beautifully decorated with many fine antiques...it was very cozy and extremely comfortable. We had a large suite in the 3 rd floor ( of course no elevator, but what would be the charm in that?). We had a peek a boo view of the lake across the street. The large soaking tub was a welcome relief for this weary traveler and she even provided bath salts and bubble bath. I felt like I was in heaven! I would definitely make this a get away if we didn't live 3000 miles away. Small caution on our room. My husband is 6'3" and he conked his head in the declining ceiling more than once (I think it is the first time I heard him cuss in 46 years....but he is over it and wants to book the same room next time....consider yourself very lucky if you are able to land a reservation

We had no experience outside the ordinary. *It is an old building that has been rebuilt at 3 different times in history and to varying extent. *Stayed over 6/17-18/25 Room was a Queen room. Floors sloped, but expected given the age. The building is on one thermostat. We're from Florida and the room was uncomfortably warm. Window facing brick building next door so opening the window didn't allow for a breeze. There were 2 glasses on dresser but there was no ability to get water or ice. There is also no coffee in the Hotel. You would need to wait for restaurant to open at 11:00am. This made the stay uncomfortable and is the reason I can't give more 's. *Area for improvement would be to have limited refreshment access to Hotel guests and refresh the air quality as it was musty. *Onions restaurant has a nicely executed Menu. Which was 4/5's! Clams sweet and cooked perfectly but not all of the shells were open upon serving (which is a no-no). Haddock Salad had beautiful color and fresh julienned vegetables on hand and fish was crispy and not overcooked. *Tavern opposite of the Restaurant and has local Brew on Tap. 7 Taps and each really good! Beer lines tasted clean and temp was good. Beer tasted crisp and delicious. 5/5's. Parking very limited. Satellite lot approximately 2 blocks down on same side of street.

The man at the front desk spent more time on the phone with (what sounded like) his wife, making odd and presumptive comments about me--while I was standing right there. It took over 30 minutes just to get my room key. Unfortunately, check-out was no better--another 30 minutes wasted on what should've been a simple process. To make matters worse, I was asked to write down my credit card number on a piece of paper because their system was down. Absolutely not. That is a huge security concern and incredibly inappropriate!! For the price I paid for a two-night stay, this experience was unacceptable. Hospitality 101: treat your guests with professionalism and respect. Sadly, this inn failed miserably on that front. I left feeling frustrated and disappointed, and I will not be returning. Have stayed here about 4 times over the past few years visiting our children at summer camp. The owners, Janet and Doug, are wonderfully friendly and charming folks who I have really enjoyed getting to know. Their home is a lovely old farm house with a great deal of charm; lots of antiques, some low ceilings, creaky floors, antique locks on the doors, etc. The rooms are small, but comfortable. You'll find a few cob webs and a little dust, but this is a trifle. Janet makes a cooked-to-order breakfast often asking what you'd like the night before. She is an excellent cook. The best part of a visit to the Inn is the idyllic backyard (see photo) which is immaculately kept and is stunningly beautiful. It is quite relaxing and serene. Sit and listen to to the quiet. Once you sit down and take in the view, you do not want to move. There is also a screened-in porch for those wishing to avoid the sun and flying annoyances. The property also has access to a nearby pond which is a short walk via a path through the woods across the street. Canoeing and rowing is possible, or simply sit and take in the water view and others enjoying the lake. The Meadow Farm Bed and Breakfast is a lovely oasis.

Jane is a lovely host, and it is apparent she seeks to please her guests by cooking up hearty, tasty breakfasts. This is no measly continental buffet...We were prepared fluffy scrambled eggs, blueberry pancakes, buttery waffles, bacon, sausage, fresh fruit, coffee and orange and cranberry juice. Enough to stuff us and our bottomless pit teenage son, and she gladly accommodated his food allergies. If that wasn't enough, Jane also has coffee/tea available throughout the day, and some cookies/pastries for grab and go. The 3rd floor Shabby Chic space is roomy for families with children with three separate sleeping rooms. As converted attic space, the angled ceilings are a bit low, and the tricky stairs and ceilings make it more suited to young shorter guests (we're all 5'8" or less). Cleaning protocols seem really solid, including bed, bath, and dining spaces. My only criticism is that while the numerous dried and/or fake roses are part of the theme/decor, they inevitably collect a lot of dust - not great for those with allergy sensitivities.

We made reservations on January 15, 2020, for 2 adults and two nights, August 19th and 20th. On the…read moremorning of August 18th (the day before the reservation) they called us and told us that they had double-booked the room and because the other party had booked prior to us, our reservation was canceled. They had our reservation for over eight months and waited until the day before we were to arrive to tell us they had double-booked the room and that we no longer had a reservation!! The Plymouth, New Hampshire area is notoriously difficult to get a room in the August timeframe. That is why we made our reservations in January. Now we are faced with paying $500+ a night for a room (if we can find one in the area) or having to travel an hour or more from a hotel room in another area to attend a wedding in Plymouth on the 20th. If this hotel really cared about its customers, they would have let us know immediately that the room was overbooked.

The library room was very comfortable, the road is quite, and the farm is very peaceful with several beautiful horses and a great view of the mountains. Anne was very accommodating of our dogs, and was able to take them outside for a break while we were away downhill skiing. This is a very dog-friendly B&B! If you like cross-country skiing, bring your skis! We didn't, but there are miles of trails right from the farm, and Anne is very knowledgeable about them. The weather was very cold when we were there, and it was such a pleasure to come back to the 2 wood stoves! We definitely hope to come back!

Ann, Ken and their dog, Teddy, could not have been more accomdating. The Mountain room is lovely with a very comfortable bed and a wood burning fireplace. Breakfast was just perfect. Ann even offered to watch our dog while we went to dinner. Definitely the place to stay in the area, especially if you are a dog or horse owner.
