This left me shaken up. I spoke with several other companies and then Vernon came out. I can say that immediately you feel safe in his presence and it's very clear he cares about ensuring people are safe and FEEL safe in their homes. He is a former cop and it shows. He is someone with the experience and instincts to really understand safety and that was very apparent in our conversations. He's not a salesman - he's a security expert who knows what you need and is honest and direct. He didn't try to upsell me on excessive unnecessary items like other companies. He asked about my goals and truly sought to understand exactly what I wanted before giving his suggestions. I asked tons of questions which he answered thoroughly and patiently. The best part about the experience was he could instantly tell I was shaken up from a previous incident and was so compassionate while still being direct. He talked to me about how to keep myself safe in case of another break-in given the layout of the new house and improve overall house safety in other ways. He even noticed the doors weren't installed correctly and missing tiny parts that make a door super easy to kick in. You don't always get more bang for your buck and it's definitely much more expensive than a DIY Google Nest self install, but I will sleep better at night knowing I got the true expert advice I needed to keep myself and my home safe. Due to the permitting system in the area and the issues with the owner of the house I lease there may be issues with getting one feature but I am going very out of my way to find a way to get what he thinks I need. So glad I made that last call to APS.

He was also wobbly when I asked how long the install would take which would affect the price ("it depends"). I didn't need it carved in stone when the guy came to the house, but I think that after I walked him through the house he decided we could afford more - and this was the owner, not some sales guy. I guess he thought I was stupid, but I'm getting more quotes now.

To our disappointment, I quickly searched on Yelp. 'High Definition Audio and Video' called me a second later and said they were able to do it the same day with a fair price. They were super responsive. They showed up on time and mounted the TV in a timely manner in the same day. I am impressed by how efficient they were. I would highly recommend this company! Eric came out for an in-person consultation, which was incredibly helpful. The original spots we had picked for our cameras would've left blind spots, but he walked us through better placement for full coverage. I honestly expected them to be booked out until after Thanksgiving, but to my surprise they were able to squeeze us in--and even came out to install everything in the rain. We purchased our own cameras and my husband requested conduit for added wire protection. The installers went above and beyond, and their cable management was truly impressive--everything is clean, tidy, and perfectly routed. What would have taken us days (and plenty of frustration!) only took their team a few hours. They were quick, efficient, extremely neat with their work, and also genuinely friendly and kind.
