I had my reservations when I came to Ah'sya. I assumed the food would be catered to the area which prefers bland food, but I was pleasantly surprised. Shrimp spring rolls - I'm so glad they don't add pork, but if you like pork they can include it. The accompanying peanut sauce had a nice sweet tang. Yum! I ordered the chicken and eggroll (bun) dry noodle dish. The chicken was grilled thigh meat which was moist and flavorful. The eggroll was a good combo with the chicken, it was tasty. The pho was pricier than other locations that I've been to in California. This may be because there aren't other Vietnamese restaurants in the area. I was torn and was going to give only 4 stars for the small amount of sprouts and foliage...but the broth was just so delicious. I chose the crispy egg rolls for an app....delicious. They had mushrooms that gave them a great flavor that I've not tasted before. For my Pho I chose #1 a combination of all those beef parts I enjoy. I have been newly introduced to pho so I am not an expert, but I am hooked after eating here. A friend recommended the #14 Beef satay (which I would have totally looked over and never ordered) but it is so so good. A creamy, spicy, peanut sauce soup with such complex flavors. I was also told to try the pad Thai and I have to say it's the best pad Thai I have ever had. Different from the Thai places in town, but I prefer it 100%. My friend ordered Pho Ga which is chicken and noodles in broth, with extra basil and limes. It was so delicious....I can't decide what my favorite dish is!! I came to this restaurant on a Friday night at 6:45 pm and the hours on their sign say they close at 7:15. I was turned away and told that they were closed and they would not serve me. I have been here in the past and the pho is good. The staff has never been very friendly and prices are slightly high compared to other pho restaurants for what you get but I have to give this place one star because they were rude and denied me service during their "open" hours which is unacceptable to me. Please do not visit this restaurant since the staff has such poor customer service. read more

After a fruitless effort to find Ah'sya yesterday afternoon, I turned back to Yelp and got a clue from a tip that Thane H. left on Yelp. I wouldn't know where they moved but his tip told me Sunset Plaza. I went to the new location this evening and had the pork and egg roll combination vermicelli bowl. The fish sauce was served on the side but I just poured it all over the bowl of goodness and stirred it in. It was very tasty! I ordered a Vietnamese coffee but when I was told it would be 15 to 20 minutes to make, I changed to a Thai iced tea which was served in a sealed boba style plastic cup. Service was very good and the two men were on top of everything. Of course, it's a small place and there were only two other tables occupied. Still, the service was good. This is our favorite restaurant in St. George. I have been eating here since he was over behind Texas Roadhouse and often worried he was not going to make it. Then he moved to Phoenix Plaza and I was thrilled to see how his business took off! Tom always has a smile, is friendly and courteous. I have eaten everything on the menu at one time or another, and have never been disappointed. I also have no favorite because I enjoy every meal so much. I would recommend this restaurant to everyone, and see no reason at all that they would not enjoy. We told ourselves... the people running this place better be Vietnamese or at least Asian ... I guess we're a bit biased, especially knowing we're in St. George and the Asian population is not much but man oh man... was this place awesome or what? (awesome!! - not what) I will definitely be coming back everytime we visit St. George! My only beef with this place is that the proportions aren't the biggest, but you leave just right - not too full and not hungry, with enough room for dessert, that is actually quite perfect and American standards have made my desire for bigger is better the norm... so it's not really a huge beef. I had the cold Vietnamese noodles with grilled pork and fried spring rolls drizzled in the fish sauce - yum yum yum. We also had the spring rolls as a side dish - kinda small here though, only about 4 little rolls that looked more like Phillipino rolls. We also had the curry chicken - wow, was it delicious - we went with a 5 and it was spicy but good!!!; the pad thai - a bit surprising - kinda sweeter than we expected but still delicious; the fried rice - not bad, nothing out of this world. My experience with Vietnamese food is limited to my meals here. I love it. The pork chop with egg rolls in killer! I also like the fresh spring rolls with plum sauce. The serving is about average for an Asian place, it isn't their strong suit, but the quality and flavor of the food make up for it. I heard that the food was great at this place, but from the moment that I walked in the door, I was treated like I was a burden. No hello or pleasantness at all. A gentleman was paying at the counter for his food and the wait staff was demanding that I place my order almost over him; as I stood behind him. He was very pushy and treated me as if I was slowing down the production line. I asked about the coffee and was told that it would take 30 minutes. If the wait staff was pleasant, I would have ordered a meal and gladly waited for the coffee that I heard was fantastic. Weak broth, weaker customer service. Ordered the Phò Tom (shrimp phò), came out and bowl was smaller than traditional pho serving bowl. They did not have the usual condiments on table and I was presented a very meager amount of basil, jalapeños (2 pieces) and bean sprouts. The broth was weak tasted salty and that's about it. The noodles were OK and there were about 6 shrimp in this serving. When he dropped it off, I asked the owner/server for some sambal and he flipped out! He barked, "What dat?" I explained that it was spicy red chili paste with seeds. It comes in a jar with a green lid labeled Sambal Oelek. "Then you say chili paste!" He did an about face and disappeared behind some curtains. A couple minutes later he brought a tiny dish with perhaps a tablespoon of sambal-uh CHILI PASTE. I did not bother asking for more. What a jerk to yell at a customer for asking for something that is standard fare in Vietnamese restaurants serving phò! Anyway... no mo phò in St G for me! read more

Had a craving for pho and went here for dinner last night. We started with the pork spring rolls, they were served with a delicious peanut sauce that was the star of the dish. Also ordered the number 6 pho with eye round steak flank and brisket. They only had one server in a full restaurant but she somehow managed to get things to our table very quickly, she even brought us some chili paste even though it wasn't on the table or menu. The pho was very good, especially the broth, I couldn't stop sipping it. What great find this little retauranut was. Visiting from Florida and didn't expect to find any decent Vietnamese food in St George, but boy was I surprised. We started with the shrimp spring rolls which were very fresh and served with peanut dipping sauce. The sauce had good flavor and aside from the asking price ($6.50) everything was great about this app. We then moved onto to order a bowl of pho to share and I am glad that we did. The serving size was huge and everything was very flavorful. I've eaten a lot of pho in Florida and wasn't expecting much here but was pleasantly surprised. This is probably the one and only Vietnamese restaurant in town but it's absolutely not the BEST. I came here once a couple years ago and didn't like the food/service and never came back. Now feel like eating pho (Vietnamese beef noodle soup) and give it another try. I'm totally disappointed just like the first time here. The service is just ok, there is only one guy who runs the whole restaurant, picking up the phone, seating customers, taking orders, bringing out food...etc...so that's why it takes a long time to be seated and get your order out. I waited a good amount of time to get my Pho. The portion was quite small, a little bit of noodles with a few slices of meat, all I could see was just the soup and it costed about $12 with tax. It will be worth it if the the food tasted great but it wasn't. The noodle was chewy, meat was rubbery and dried, and the broth tasted like can soup. If you have experienced the real Vietnamese Pho, you won't like this place. I definitely don't recommend this restaurant. read more

Spent some time reading the other reviews and I agree that staff can seem rude (they're just weird). Portions are a bit small, especially BC it is supposed to be so large. I don't wind up coming to this place as often because of the early closing time (7:15), it's ridiculous! Food is good enough to keep me coming back occasionally though. It's definitely a take out recommendation situation. There is a liquor store in the same mall so stop there too! If There's another vietnamese restaurant that can compete I think they're done for (haven't tried the new Pho restaurant yet). The Pho here is incredible. So are the spring rolls. What isn't incredible are the strange business hours the owners keep. I'd say we show up excited for Pho and it's closed half the time. Definitely call before you leave your house and ignore the business hours sign near the door. But the food here is fantastic.
