Commonwealth Computer Services came to my aide this past week when I had 2 serious problems. For the first, I called and made an appointment for someone to come to my house. I was sent a picture of the tech who would come, he arrived at the appointed time and did a terrific job. Two days later when it appeared I had been scammed online, I called and the same tech arrived in less than an hour. He checked everything over, found nothing amiss and put my mind at ease. I still have work to do with new accounts and password changes, but certainly know who to call again if I have problems.

He spent a good bit of time trying to get my laptop to boot up and eventually removed the hard drive and battery to take them to his home workshop so he could retrieve my info and put it on my thumb drive. He rang me in the evening to say that sadly the hard drive was corrupt and couldn't be accessed. The battery had begun to bow upward, so it was a goner too. In his opinion the 7 year old machine wasn't worth fixing because at that age things would just keep going wrong. Kinda like a used car. In the end he didn't charge me a penny because he wasn't able to fix my machine! How often does that happen?!! So if you have a PC that is giving you trouble and you want someone to come to you, definitely give Ken a call. You won't regret it.

I wanted to do business with a local business, but sadly, I believe they took advantage of my situation. I had done business with them at least four times prior and was completely satisfied, but I will not do so in the future. The Intel Core i3-8100 is a budget desktop processor released in October 2017 as part of the 8th Generation "Coffee Lake" lineup. I partly blame myself for not conducting thorough research before making the purchase.

Found this place by Google Map search and/or Yelp as I didn't want to take my phone to Verizon (why…read moreI'm not sure now). A couple months later, fairly sure that wasn't the better decision. To be fair, I messed up my HTC10 somehow; I think moderately wet hands cause my screen to start not registering touches in vertical bar patterns. After dealing with this for a few months and it not getting any better, I thought maybe just the screen needed to be replaced. Again, to be fair it's possible more needed to be replaced. So I went in and asked about a screen replacement and noted my general problem. I was more led down the line of how much my phone was still worth almost as if to say if I wanted to sell it, though ultimately noting that it was worth repairing. I put down the first half of the cost and came back a couple days later after the part was ordered online from a random supplier of phone parts. An hour or so later I came back with my phone all put back together, paid the rest of the cost and went on my way. Over the next day or so the "new" screen started to have some dead spots and continually got worse over the next few months until now where it's pretty much useless. Again, it's possible something else in the screen was damaged and a new screen just put a band-aid on it. However, I don't believe it was well repaired as over the last couple of months when a spot or section went bad, some good jiggling or tapping of the phone would get it working again. As well, even from the start, the "home" button in the bottom center was not well placed back in and was offset from where it should be. Also noticed I was fairly easily able to slide in a business card or thin paper between the screen and metal body to try to reseat the "home" button. So, the repair didn't come back looking like new and to me wasn't a good quality repair. It might be more of my issue, but I struggled to stop by this place with the way the hours are set and ran out of my 14 days from repair to take it back in at no cost (at least according to the receipt). I called once in there and left a message only to never have it returned, I could have been more persistent, but I don't have time for that. I only give a 2nd star here as at least the work is done in house and with decent looking equipment. Maybe it was just that I had an off phone (I think HTC10s aren't too popular) so if you've got an iPhone or an easier repair it'll work for you. But for me, it didn't work and I don't think the quality of the work was very good.

We have a small network with attached storage that he set up, and it does exactly what it's supposed to do. When we do have an issue, we just call Melvin (Nevergold) and he'll be by shortly to fix it for us. Can't get much better than that!
