Recently, the door stopped opening, barely lifting an inch before shutting down. I called four top-rated local companies, told them I thought I might need two springs, and asked them to come inspect and offer quotes: Companies 1 & 2: Recommended replacing the spring with two new springs, quoting $750 up to $1,400 for high-cycle spring packages (almost the cost of a brand-new door). Company 3: Quoted slightly less for two springs, but very honestly suggested just adding one new spring for still even less at $450. Garage Door Man: I spoke with Jim, who noted that a standard 16x7 single-layer door usually only needs one spring. A technician came out the next day, diagnosed that the 3-year-old spring was fine, and simply added torsion to rebalance it. Total cost: $125 with a 90-day labor warranty. While a dual-spring setup might offer backup redundancy, my garage has a side door and two cars parked outside anyway. Rebalancing saved me hundreds--huge appreciation for their honesty and fair pricing!

Met Jeremiah who was super friendly and knowledgeable about garages. He took a look and a listen and gave me an honest fair assessment of my opener, the springs, components. My Garage door was shrieking every time it was opened or closed. I had a screw drive type opener that was manufactured in 2003, and agreed it was time for an upgrade. Jeremiah gave me recommendations and tips, but never felt rushed or pressured in a sale. Ultimately I wanted a quieter system and not have to worry for the immediate future, so I asked how much to replace the opener, springs and components. By buying a total system, he gave me a discount. I thought the total price was reasonable and fair. Appointment was scheduled for Friday, but an opening came an Jeremiah asked if he could come Thursday for an install. He showed up on time at 5pm and he did the job all by himself. Jeremiah also went the extra mile, he thoroughly went through the system, setup our phones with the app, walked us through the control panel and even programmed my car. You can't help but feel good that you did business with someone that cares about doing a great job and taking care of their customer. You won't go wrong with Guaranteed Garage Door.

Unprofessional experience. Tech said it was his first time…read moreinstalling this type of motor- left me with zero confidence. Changed rates the day of -saying the motor price increased. Refused to deduct the initial $85 show up fee as they said they would. Was $200 less elsewhere AND a better motor and experience. To no fault of theirs when they came out in December my garage door was momentarily working so they greased it up and stated they still need to charge me $85 for the appointment. They stated they would reimburse that if I purchased the new motor through them. I reached out for them to purchase the motor. They responded quickly and said they would be here tomorrow. The next day when they came, they had no notes as they said they previously did and were not prepared to install. I did confirm the rate was the same as it was in December. The next day they show up, increase the rate and refuse to deduct the initial fee for showing up. As if that were not enough, they were very unprofessional. While on speakerphone I heard them complaining about another customer as well as giving the current technician a hard time about telling me how much the motor cost. It was very uncomfortable. After trying to calm the Owner down and repeating myself four times that I'm only asking them to do what they originally agreed upon he suggested that I go somewhere else. I agreed. He then repeated my name multiple times telling me to be careful because other people with charge more and swindling the rates with me saying it was a good deal. I said this is unprofessional and walked inside. They kept calling and stayed onsite a bit knocking on my door. They also stated I needed a more expensive Genie replacement. Turns out I did not. The LiftMaster is what another vendor is using and is overall a better motor and $200 less than what they were charging. Update: They did apologize afterwards and refunded the initial charge. Then called asking why I put this review up. Because it was my experience and wasted time. I had to hang up- then received another text- again very unprofessional.
