Two days ago I saw a quart of Egg Nog on sale for $0.99. Great deal until I checked the expiration date. Was already two days over that date so didn't purchase. Mention it to the Customer service/ few item check out & she said the Egg Nog has a 10 day self life after expiration date. Not true because I worked @ a dairy laboratory & shelf life after expiration is 5 days. I have seen bags of salad expired on sale after expiration date & was already going bad showing it was turning brown. I think this store should be ashamed for selling expired food. read more

Food is constantly way out of date. This store is disgusting. When you call to complain the manager said she not the manager. We only stop because it's on the way home. Never do weekly shopping there. Bought a loin that was 5 days past its expiration date. Just a pos store with lazy or untrained workers. No one takes food off the shelf when the dates expire. I was in the supermarket today and i saw a disabled man with a service dog and he took 1 step into the store while i was checking out and a women inside told him to get out. He asked why and she said to him you and your dog are not welcome. I wanted to find out why so i followed him out and asked what the problem was. He stated the this women has ALWAYS given me a hard time, that he has spoken with the owners and they said he is welcome with the dog. However they obviously did not pass that along to this rude individual. He is a disabled veteran and i support our military. I have never witnessed something so rude like that before. I only live a few blocks from the store so it has always been convenient but i will not give business to a store that treats disabled veterans in this manor! I would rather go to Giant or Weis down the street. TO THE OWNER WHOEVER WAS YOUR MANAGER ON 6/26 at 6:30pm SHOULD NOT MANAGER ANYWHERE EVER AGAIN! Horrible horrible service cashier couldn't be bothered to either tell me my total, not put my lunch meat UNDER my eggs, OR say thank you after spending nearly 170.00 on about 20 items. I don't shop at Ahart's on a regular basis. I do like that they package some of the meat in smaller portions, for senior citizens, so if I'm in the vicinity I'll stop in on my way back to Nazareth. Of course, I'll pick up an item or two, if needed in between my usual shopping. Yesterday, I was appalled to see the price gouging that this place is up to. And I mean another .50 - $1.00 above Giant's prices. ( some of the highest in the Valley, I check prices closely!) How pathetic. They are charging more than small Mom & Pop stores. It's so unfair for the seniors that live in the senior apartments and may not be able to shop elsewhere at this time in their lives, and have no idea that they are being gouged. This is a review for the deli area only. Tried twice for a quick lunch since I work across the street. Mazzarella sticks with no cheese in them last week. lol Chicken sandwich today with lots of bones and a hair. So gross. Won't be stopping for lunches anymore. Now the general staff very nice. Just bought the chicken roll in the Deli and opened it up to find it rancid and smelling like road kill. Not able to understand how the guy slicing it would not notice that it was smelly and was slime covered as he sliced it up for me. There seem to be no inspection of the deli meats for outdates buyer beware. read more

The store is a dump. The staff are definitely hit or miss. One of the workers, Sammie, is always sweet and helpful which is a breath of fresh air compared their other employees. Cracks in the floor. I only shop there because of convenience. read more

I moved to Bath three years ago after living in the sticks . People don't realize the blessing of having a full fledge grocery store so close by. They have a deli, bakery, full freezer section and even a Red Box. They have Easter egg hunts and contests for the kids every holiday. The people there have always been kind and courteous to me and my family. They are a staple in our community that if gone would be dearly missed. Please don't take for granted such a treasure. read more

The town deserves better, Also the store restricts coupons to $1 and if the cashier makes a mistake they take it from their pay. Don't think that is legal. Store is overpriced. They have a captive "clientele" due to the aging people with no transportation. They need new management and should care about their customers. As the below poster said, their seafood is definitely NOT FRESH. I got sick from eating their "fresh scallops". Don't buy anything from here unless it's prepackaged. I tried to like this place as it's only 1 mile from my home but after many disappointments, I do myself a favor and just drive the 5 miles to WEGMANS. read more

I honestly don't know how the health department hasn't shut this place down. The employees are nice enough but it's a grocery store with expired food. The produce is rotting, their seafood has gotten people I know sick, and their deli is disgusting. They let all their deli meat sit in the display case cooler unwrapped all day, I have seen mold on the cheese sitting in the cooler and in the summer time it is littered with flies. I urge people to just take the extra 5 minute drive to giant or wegmans. read more

Often greeted by rude cashiers. The express line takes forever due to cashier having to wait on lottery customers. Chicken is often spoiled and foul smelling, seafood in far from fresh. Cigarette sales also slow down lines. Store appears to have experienced a small earthquake with uneven floors that are cracked and mounded. Manager also rude and uses f-bomb when frustrated. It does not seem like they treat their employees very good. Just overall not a good experience. read more

One of my favorite places to shop for groceries in the Lehigh Valley. No pretentious BS, just basic groceries and service AND reasonable prices. Deli is always easy to get in and out of, they are clean, courteous, and fast. The donuts are better than other large grocery chains. Meats are fresh and well stocked. Bagels and rolls are good, they used to be better but they changed bakery suppliers. Park in the front row, walk in, get what you need and get out, super fast. I usually choose to go here first if I can; beats Wegmans, Giant, Redners, Weis hands down. I've been shopping here for more than 10 years and have few complaints. The manager I am not too happy with, he insinuated I was stealing stuff one day, saying stuff within earshot so I could hear him. Store could be cleaner. There are cracks in the floor. Twice I bought the 'fresh' fish and it was spoiled. Their other stores are larger, brighter & cleaner. The town of Bath deserves better. Store definitely needs renovation. read more

Update. For a small town local store the majority of the staff are rude and not helpful at all. I do not do all of my shopping here but because it's a family owned local business I tried to stay true for a few items here and there. My husband lost his wallet the other day some where between the store, the Red Box machine and his car. When I called to see if they found his wallet on a follow up visit the other day the lady said rudely "are you the woman who was here the other day?" I said yes and again she said I told you it's not here and we have nothing to do with redbox. She then hung up on me. I only called because they did not offer to write down my contact info the other day and I wanted to ask again. Anyone who lost a wallet can understand how upsetting it can be. Well due to the rude person I ran into I will go a few miles up to the Wise or Wegmans because they are usually nicer there anyway. I was there another time and an employee was yelling at the pretzel vendor. I've never seen such consistent rude service. read more

The store manager, Bob is the biggest jerk , he doesn't communicate with assistant manager they can't keep there help. The store is dirty and they don't rotate there stock, so much food is out dated. I llve pretty close to Aharts Market. I love the store because it is smaller and easy for me to shop in. I can usually get everything that I need right at Aharts. I buy all of my meat there because it is a better quality meat than some of the bigger stores and cheaper. I don,t really like big stores where it is difficult to find items and there are too many aisles. I have health problems so Aharts is perfect for me. So many times I am thankful to have a grocery store so close like when I am feeling sick or in the winter when the weather is bad. I usually buy all of my produce at Aharts and Potatoes are always reasonably priced. Who needs rows and rows to go up and down and who needs alcohol and a bar in a grocery store anyway? It is just encouraging Alcoholics to drink even more! You should always check the dates on food items to make sure they aren,t expired but if you get home and notice something is expired Aharts will either let you get another one that's ok or refund your money with a receipt of course! The donuts are very good! I,ve ordered birthday cakes and they are always great from the bakery. It,s an old building and could use some renovations but it serves the purpose for local residents. The bathroom is always clean also which is important to me. read more
