I grew up with this market until I moved away, under at least 3 different names. It has always been quality. The only thing I miss is when the market used to sell kiffles, which I would buy whenever I was in town. But the extensive PA Dutch section almost makes up for the lack of kiffles. Valley Farm Market is a family owned grocery store located in the Stefko Center. They advertise that they deliver the freshest produce, meats, and seafood in the valley. I can't justify that, but after reading some other reviews on/off Yelp, there are a lot of people who agree with that. To me, this is your average grocery store. I wasn't impressed with the selection or the prices. The market is open from 8am - 7pm (Mon-Sat) and 8am - 5pm on Sunday. Kind of like a time warp coming to Valley Farm. If you're looking for hip, new or anything trendy in terms of appearance or offerings like you might get at Wegmans, Shoprite or Whole Paycheck it's not happening here as that's not what the majority of the clientele is looking for. This is very much a meat and potatoes type of place. Sort of like grocery shopping in an environment that would be appealing to your grandparents. Same format applies with one new twist. If you're looking for an excellent selection of meats, seafood and produce this place is hard to beat. To me it's hand down the best deli in the area. Even at the holy of holy Wegmans you're not finding variety like you'll get here with a full line of Boar's Head, Dietz and Watson, Jennie-O, John F. Martin and some of their own selections. Plus they always have a ton of staff on so the wait is never too bad. Within the last year they've also added beer sales in the back corner. I don't drink the stuff so I have no clue if the prices or selection are any good but the area is fairly large and they always have a good crowd in there so it I guess it can't be too bad. The other big plus here is that while they do not have a self check out area they always have a ton of cashiers on up front. I think they have nine lanes plus the customer service counter which chips in as well and it's rare that especially in the afternoon they don't have all nine lanes staffed. What's still not amazing here would be the prices on a lot of the canned and packaged goods. The sales here are alright but they never compete with sale prices at any of the other major chains. An example being this week a certain brand of ice cream is on sale at 2/$5. A sale at a place like Giant would normally equal 2/$4 and Giant offers special coupons for this item on a fairly regular basis which would make the price even less. Sure that's just one item but the point is that there are a of items which fall into that description. While it would be ideal or convenient to shop at just one store, there are far too many items here that make doing that a real money waster. Like I said last time, stick to the right side of the store and you'll do great in terms of selection and even pricing. The more left you go the more you should consider going to Giant or even Wegmans as it's simply a better all around deal. read more

OMG! I shopped here tonight at 8:00pm. I went to the butcher area for steaks, to find a young girl there with tattoo's on her face and neck, talking on her cell phone, sloppily dressed-stomach visible, didn't like having to hang up to actually assist the customer. Appearance should have been the 1st clue. I picked out 2 nice steaks, and watched as she man-handled them with her BARE HANDS! She then put one glove on AFTER weighing them, to wrap them, and did not think I saw that dirty practice and it was a dirty trick. No courtesy, no "thank you," no care in the world. She demonstrated a "...I'm on prison work-release" attitude, consistent with her appearance. I'll never buy meat there again! Wouldn't want to risk getting sick from their practice of what I witnessed. I went to check-out, asked for a manager (Chloe was the manager-on-duty). She heard me out and assured me she will "tell Management." I didn't get the feeling she would. Has anyone gotten sick after buying at this meat section of that store? I think it will be a good investment in time if the Bethlehem Health Bureau checks into any complaints of sickness originating from this store and specifically the meat department. Beyond that, the check-out person was nicer and displayed manners. read more

Recently bought 2 lump crab patties from seafood department.There wasn't any crab in these patties. I paid $15.99 .When I took the receipt and the container to the store to complain they said they did not know of a mixup.i .e. I received a less expensive patty than what I paid for and if I had a complaint I should have complained 2days after I bought them ,not 2weeks after I bought them.I usually shop every 2weeks there. My days of shopping at Valley Farm are over.They do stand behind there products. This was the first and last time I bought seafood there.. If you do shop there,make sure you are given the product you paid for. read more

This place is good for produce, some desserts, and a good selection of meats and seafood. Besides that, a lot of items cost more than at other stores. They have limited options for many dry goods. The employees are like zombies. No worker is ever smiling. The younger cashiers are extremely bad at having any type of upbeat attitude and are just flat out unprofessional. They are more focused on talking with each other than in engaging with customers. I have been skipped over numerous times at the meat counter even while having a ticket. The meat counter is 50 feet long and they often mumble the next number and move on to someone closer to them. I will only come here in the future for absolute necessity. Valley Farm Market is a grocery store that my grandmother swore by for years. Valley Farm is a local chain here in the Lehigh Valley the reminds me of somewhere between farmer's market and grocery store. Many local Pennsylvania Dutch favorites can be found here including egg noodles and chow chow. My coworker swears by their meat quality. When asked if it was priced reasonably, she said yes, but didn't think it was a steal. I purchased lobsters from here for New Years which were tasty and well-priced. I wouldn't buy my whole list here. But it's worth checking out for their fresh food, and unique dry goods. read more

This place is great for fresh greens. They have plenty of parking in a strip mall. The bakery department is average but they do have some cool Pennsylvania Dutch stuff like Shoe Fly Pie. Wegman's has a better bakery but unfortunately you will get a nose bleed from their prices. The prices for the bakery is a little high for the quality. The meats and seafood department have an awesome selection and the workers are always behind the counter and ready to help. It's a pretty decent size department. I don't know if the prices are good or not. I never pay attention to meat prices. The seafood prices are on par with everyone else. As far as the fruits and greens, they have a large selection and you will love the variety. They sell veggies that other local grocery chains like Giant do not sell. One thing I did notice or lack of notice was an organic section? I don't think they sell organics or if they do, it must be very small. Prices and selection are awesome and I tend to come here for the fresh and hard to find veggies. They have everything else in the other half of the store. Chips, can goods, etc... just like you would typically find in other grocery stores. All in all, I would recommend coming here to check it out if. If your looking for organics or bakery items, I would try elsewhere. read more

Valley Farm Market is my #1 grocery store in the valley. Great selection, prices, and location are great for me. Good fresh seafood selection, as well as vegetable/herbs. Buy the beef tenderloin whole for 10$ a pound, sometimes 9$ vs. the 17$/lb individual filets. You get the whole loin, perfectly butchered and I usually request it whole, so I can decide the thickness of my steaks, and about 2 pounds of ground filet. There are usually an abundance of check-outs, and I notice that I never wait for them, unlesss you go before a snowstorm. Quick in and out is always good. There is also a licquor store in the shopping center, so you can hit that up at the same vist. read more

One of the best, if not the best, supermarkets out there. Giant is so not in its league. Pros: Great produce and meat selection. Good prices on almost everything. Con: Well put together, but the layout isn't the best still. Hours can be a bit odd on Sundays and Mondays. As its name implies, it's a farm market - it provides fruits and veggies. It has the easily the best and cheapest selection (outside of maybe Elias Market) of any supermarket in the area. There's always an attendant taking care of the vegetables, spraying it down - that's something you don't see at Giant or the former Superfresh. Besides the wondrous produce section, the meat selection is quite amazing. This isn't your "invisible butchers and meat wrapped in styrofoam and saran wrap" meat section. You can see the butchers in action, behind the windows, and you order meat at the counter from someone who is knowledgeable and can answer your questions. The prices are good and either beats the other supermarket's prices or is competitive with them (the lone exception is orange juice, of which Giant appears to have the cheapest of anybody for some reason). And what's up with the hours? It's open until 7 on Saturdays and Mondays, until 5 on Sundays, and until 9 every other day. It's kinda confusing, not to mention inconvenient on Sundays and Mondays. But otherwise, this is my grocery store of choice. read more

This place is the go to grocery/farmers market in all of the Lehigh Valley. Always have fresh, unique and affordable produce. Seafood, deli and meat selections are fresh and they serve to size what you want. Deli has the tastiest hot foods especially their fried chicken, macaroni and cheese, wedge fries and so much more. The staff are very nice and will go out of their way to help you. They never leave their shelves unstocked or messy and are clearly marked with prices. Bakery has every unique and specialty sweets around the Valley and in-store made goods. The prices are affordable in every dept. and you can get bagged candies, nuts, dried fruits, cookies and more in the candy section. Eric the owner and his family make this the ideal farmer's market/grocery store for all ages and interests! It's no wonder they had to move to this larger location considering they easily out do any other grocery store in the area!! They have lotto tickets, stamps, and more at Tom's a spot there in the front of the store off to the right. This is an all stop store that will have you going there and nowhere else. read more

Living in the city, I'm used to wanting to slice my arm off every time I reach for my wallet at the grocery store. This place is ridiculous. Best fresh produce selection I have seen in..I don't even know. So many brands, so many variations, and so freaking cheap. I bought $60 worth of fruits, veggies and poulty and I'm seriously stocked for quite a while. This would easily have run me $125+ at the shoddy Super Fresh on South Street. I love the Vally Farm Market. Their meats and seafood are amazing. The produce is about as fresh as it gets. Their dry products are not super pricey, it is about what I pay at Giant or Wegmans. Valley Farm is one of my favorite places to shop, however, during this Pandemic I've been ordering online. Last Wednesday I physically went to Wegmans and found it to be extremely cautious during this time. So this morning I thought I would try going to back to Valley Farm. I must say, I will NOT go back until this Pandemic is over. There was absolutely no social distancing. When I checked out, nothing was wiped down before the next customer went through. People were not careful especially the workers. I was so disappointed. Kudos to Wegmans for a job well done and shame on Valley Farm. Also, there were no wipes available for customers. I come here for specifics. I don't fill my whole grocery order here. That being said, best meats and seafood around. The London broils are the best looking I've ever seen. You can still buy fresh whole chickens here. The butchery is a lost art anymore, but not at valley farm. I can call a few days ahead and order up a beautiful 6lb brisket with no problems. I am an avid outdoor griller and bbq guy and there are only 2 places I purchase meat, Valley Farm Market and Saylors in Hellertown. Valley has a huge selection of excellent meats at very reasonable prices. I like the baked goods also but doctor tells me not to eat. Best place in the Lehigh Valley for fresh produce/meats/seafood/deli/bakery...not so good on the left side of the store with their dry goods (Giant and Walmart beat them out)...but Valley outshines on FRESH products... I shop here once a week; I make my list and pick things up/check them off, then find something I wasn't expecting or experimental and add that to my cart and soon I have 25% more items in my cart than I'd planned on buying. The store is bright, clean, and well-stocked. Their produce selection and prices cannot be beat in the Valley...the LARGEST deli...GREAT seafood selection/prices... and WONDERFUL meat/poultry section. Follow Valley Farm Market on Facebook: early (overnight) on Wednesday mornings they post their weekly flyer announcing deals/sales/steals. Always check out the 99-cent racks in the produce area - good bargains can be found, but they must be used pronto in most cases...still with good meal planning, you'll make out... My personal favorite? Their garlic chicken sausage - it's great sauteed with several types of peppers (all available in the produce section) and an onion or two (also nice selection in the produce section). Mom/Dad grill the garlic chicken sausage and make sandwiches - I've yet to try that, but it sounds good. And the sausage is made on the premises. Check out the bulk foods and candies/sweets/snacks aisle to for a large selection and decent prices. Just be careful in the parking lot - I've witnessed errant carts smashing into cars (why, oh why can't people return their carts to the front of the store - lazy!) and people backing out of parking slots into other cars (lots of seniors shop here; nothing against seniors - without them none of us would be here; just a warning..). I always park on the perimeter and hike through the parking lot (being mindful of backing-up cars) to do my shopping.. If you don't live in the Lehigh Valley, (Philly, Bucks County, NJ, NYC), plan a day trip to visit them on Stefko Blvd. Believe me, you won't regret the effort! read more

I used to come here with my mom as a kid and now I've just started returning as an adult. My boyfriend and I usually go to the hot food section for some chicken and fries or potato pancakes. It's really hit or miss. Sometimes we get the best chicken you could have and then other times we get rock hard chicken that seems like it was left overnight. The employees do not care, they will package it like they don't see it. We also watched two employees verbally fight to the point where it was uncomfortable. The employees are a little snooty and only like you if you're a regular. The part I do like is that for the most part everything is prepackaged and weighed so you can just get what you need read more

I love the Valley Farm Market. The butcher counter and produce are the best. That said, stay away from the deli counter. Their staff behind the counter is disgusting. Long hair, no hair nets and apparently no hygiene. Today I witnessed one individual with long dred locks spit into a paper towl right before he took someone's order. I've been here a small handful of times, and each time I've come back happy with my purchase. Their selection is phenomenal. They have a really good candy aisle(s) and fresh bread selection that's fairly inexpensive ($2 for a loaf of seeded rye). I would definitely recommend this pace for anybody who is looking for a more home made feel to certain things. I might not go here for everything, but there are parts that are far superior to places such as Wegman's and Giant. As mentioned, the bakery and the sweets section are quite superb, as are the fruits and vegetables. It's definitely got that farmer's market quality to it, with a supermarket selection. read more

I bought a lb of crab here to use for crab cakes and spent almost an hour picking shell out from under my black light. There was honestly a loss of about 1/4 lb because of all the shell bits. Very disappointing, given all the other rave reviews. I will never buy crab there again. read more

They are half the price cheaper than the ones from the larger grocery/supermarkets. The store is clean and organized.
