Fried rice
Dennis W.

This place is a hidden gem for quality roast duck and pork belly! Much better than any place I've been to in Chinatown for quality and cost! Quality- the pork belly is my favorite here. It is cooked well such that the skin is crispy, fat is flavorful, and meat is not over cooked. The duck is also very good. It is not dry whatsoever and the skin is crispy. The dunplings and rice were good too. Quantity- we got quite a bit for 50 bucks. Enough for 4 people. Atmosphere- I like the lively food hall in the market. Service- good. Pretty fast.

Poon Choi, combination seafood pot with the finest ingredients

There's always a long line here, and when you see a long queue at a chinese place, you know it's legit. I always come here to buy the BBQ pork or roast duck. Quick delicious dinner dish! For Chinese New Year, they sell a special dish called Poon Choi, which a combination seafood pot with the finest ingredients. Didn't order one but it looks so good!

Finally, a Chinese BBQ restaurant in the western suburbs of Chicago! Now instead of making the trek all the way to Chinatown, I can just stop by the Aurora Park to Shop food court and go to Ah Yin. I usually get the two item combination plate, which lets you choose two different bbq options, along with a side of rice, broccoli -- all drizzled with their sweet soy sauce. The sauce is just a tad too salty in my opinion, but the juicy char siu bbq pork and roast duck make for a satisfying, savory, and decadent meal. They sometimes skimp on giving meaty portions of the roast duck and instead give the bony portions instead, so that's a hit and miss unfortunately, but the yummy flavors of the meats still make it worth coming back for more!

Cold noodles

2/3 of the BBQ combination plates is filled with rice - meats (duck, chicken, pork belly) are just okay. Cold Noodle (Liang Pi) is also just okay. $22.66 after tax ... a bit pricey

Authentic Cantonese style BBQ: Roast Pork belly, BBQ Duck, Char-Siu (BBQ Pork). All tasty at a reasonable price. Staff speaks Cantonese and Mandarin. 正宗粵式燒烤:紅燒豬肉,燒鴨,叉燒(BBQ豬肉)。 所有都美味及價格合理。 工作人員講廣東話和普通話。 You can tell the store is authentic by just the phone number: 312-823-3118. In Cantonese, 3 rhymes with "Lively", 2 rhymes with "Easy" and 8 rhymes with "Prosperity." 1, of course "Number One!"

We headed to Giardino for our post-theater dinner on Sunday. This was our second time at this…read morerestaurant and again, we enjoyed our dining experience. Two for two!! Our server today was Jackie, who provided good service and was personable and friendly. We started with cocktails, an old-fashioned for him and a bees knees for me. The bartender didn't quite get the bees knees to the right balance level with the honey, but I asked one of the staff to ask the bartender to add more honey. He kind of missed the mark on that cocktail unfortunately. In his defense, a lot of bartenders really don't know how to make a good bees knees. We ordered the meatballs and polenta to share as an appetizer. The meatballs rivaled my Italian dad's, and that says a lot because he made the best meatballs ever. The restaurant didn't serve grilled crostini with their meatballs like other places unfortunately, and there was no bread service. However, I believe they do have garlic bread on their menu that you can order For dinner my husband had the short ribs with gnocchi and I had the vodka rigatoni. Both of those dishes were delicious. I don't like short ribs but I gave it a taste - it was tender and delicious. My vodka rigatoni came with chicken for some reason (this 100% Italian would never put chicken with rigatoni alla vodka) so I nixed it. A half slice of garlic bread was served on each of our entrées. My husband's was perfectly grilled and mine was not. The one time I was getting bread and it turned out to be meh. We ordered a tiramisu to take with us to enjoy later that evening. It was light and heavenly. However, for the price, I think they could have offered a larger slice as it was a small 3 x 3 square. Having said that I love that we found a place that has good food just a five-minute walk from the theater. I think our fellow theater goers discovered this place, too, because the place was packed. Even with the slight things that I was disappointed in, I would return time and time again because the food is really good. Give this place to try!

Lookin' for a lightweight lunch and Giardino absolutely delivered!…read more So much so that the Buffalo Margareta Pizza appears to float before your very eyes. A featherweight Pizza the size of a frisbee that's easily tossed around the table slice by slice! A crisp taste served with an 'airy' crust that tends to defy gravity. It was my first visit to your restaurant though my wife has been here before with friends. Chad was our server. He pleasantly explained the drink and dining menus and took good care of us all evening. My bride had her favorite drink, The French Martini, and you guys nailed it for her! I was very happy with the 2025 Pils. Dinner was amazing, Skirt steak for her, brisket for me with Yukon potatoes following salads for both of us. The quality and taste of the food was great and makes us want to come back and sample other dishes. We received great service and a nice complimentary glass of champagne (with Ho-Ho's) to finish our celebration. At the end of the evening we received a big surprise when Chad came over with news that we had no bill to pay as my wife's daughter and her husband had secretly called to pay the tab! So thoughtful of them to treat us and to top off a memorable meal and milestone in our lives.

Went to Hardware in North Aurora and came away with mixed feelings…read more The good: ambiance is great and the drinks were on point. Had the Marilyn saison and a solid dark beer. Bar program is strong. The short rib pot pie was a straight up winner. Rich, comforting, and not trying to be anything other than good food done right. The bone marrow lost me. Cooked well, but buried under too many microgreens and then oddly topped with tortilla chip strips. No smokiness either. It felt more confused than cohesive. Where it really started to miss was the overall approach. A lot of "the chef intends this..." type explanations. It ends up feeling like the food insists upon itself instead of just letting you enjoy it. That's the bigger issue. This place exists in a space where I don't think most people want to meet it. Not casual enough to relax, not refined enough to justify the performance. Bottom line: good drinks, great pot pie, but the experience tries a little too hard.

Since discovering it five months ago, my bride and I have already returned twice. The food has been remarkable each time, with generous portions and prompt, attentive service. It actually is one of the area's several pretty okay restaurants. For sure better than yet another chain. The prices are kind of high and the menu is kind of limited to be honest. A restaurant that has a big bar in front. It's big enough that there's plenty more room for tables. This is also a restaurant that has an open kitchen so you can see them cooking from even the patio or wherever. Just expensive. That's about the worst thing about it. It's about $8 for a basic cocktail. The nicer ones are a lot more. It's about $19 for an entree. Limited choices here for vegetarians. I got the Pasta Pomodoro. This is pasta with basil, garlic, olive oil, Parmesan which I left off, and tomato sauce. It wasn't a large amount. The rest of the menu has meaty items like burgers and Italian beef sandwiches. For sure it's a nice place for the area. It's open for lunch and dinner daily so go any time. The doors even list it as being open until "whenever."
