Of all the places I visited during my short trip to AZ, Agulia's stuck out as my favorite. It was the only place I ran into locals and not many tourists. A strait forward no frills bar with friendly bartenders and patrons. We spent a few hours here and enjoyed the night. I met a lot of employees and everyone was beyond friendly. A lot bigger than I thought when first walking in, with two bars, two floors and a full outdoor patio. The vibes here felt like home. 10/10. read more

I feel like I often give too many good reviews, but it is mainly due to studying other people's ratings and wanting to not risk my money or time. However Aguilas took the cake for putting the Dive in Dive bar. We came in one weekend afternoon to shoot some pool after having run into the owner down in Rocky Point some time ago at his other nice bar with the same namesake. We also saw what he did to renovate the famed Nugget into a modern Mexican Cantina in Maryvale, so what could go wrong. First off the bartender who was a younger lady seemed more interested in her phone than taking orders and seemed a little bummed to work but I dont blame her I dont want to work. I can say the drinks were reasonable and they did have seltzer options for the wifey. The ambience was pretty white trash even for the westside and that's coning from white trash growing up on the westside. They do have two pool tables that were well taken care of but ac was spotty depending on where you stand. They also had smoking which was new to me outside of legion hauls and it got unbearable when two people lit up at once. However, the hypocrite that I am thought it was cool that I could vape like a teenage white girl without hiding it from the gestapo so kudos to them for pushing the boundaries. Nonetheless cigarette smoke is nasty and still dont understand why people think others want to huff their blow back. Maybe im allergic or something. Now from the rumor meal I gleaned that the owner has a dog that runs freely and I heard others brought their dogs. They do have a back patio where I saw a guy let the dog out to do his business, around that same time my wife found a dog turd in the corner of the bar which grossed her out. I gave a few thoughts about picking it up, but a man has to have a line in the sand on cleaning up another man or dogs crap. We shot quite a few games of pool mainly cause we had the bartender turn on the juke box in-between her youtube videos and put in a few songs only to find out there was a queue jammed up that was 15 tracks long. I have seen some reviews that the bathrooms weren't clean but in this case it wasnt true other than the aforementioned doggy poo corner. They do have darts and I must say great billiards tables with a lot of travel. I also had a former coworker and huge fan of Aguilas tell me they have a cool basement at nights for added festivities which sounded really cool and gave me valley bar or downtown Cornish vibes if they can pull that off. Honestly aside from the cigarette smoke and my wife getting skeeved out by doggie doody I could have over looked the sub par service. Maybe ill go back for some basement raves on the weekend and change my perception on the place cause life is to short to just have one bad experience. Edit: I forgot to mention the Drive thru liquor store in front of the bar. We went inside and the dude working the counter was awesome and they had a great beer and liquor select, see its just hard to right a bad review without feeling like a Karen but that liquor store and personnel is 5 stars read more

Fun spot! It literally is Hid-A-Way! You can't see it when you pull up it's behind a drive-through liquor store! Friendly staff, good drinks, clean bathroom! Great dive bar! And we all love dive bars!! read more

The service was great on an early Saturday evening. If smoke inside a bar you've been warned. When the shift change happened we were actually offered the option to keep our tab open which I thought was kind. Of course we opted to close for the servers ease. We were also informed prior to charge that if we had cash it would be a tad less. Which again we appreciated especially on a Saturday night. Didn't get a chance to check out the patio. It was open however no lights so we stayed inside also didn't get to try the food. Always a next time. read more

It smelled like poop downstairs and cigars upstairs, mixed drinks were disgusting and everything was extremely run down

I love it here! Friendly, quick service, great crowd no matter what day of the week. Great sinks, decent prices. Absolutely no complaints. Definitely suggest checking out the neighborhood bar. read more

We've been having fun at this location for over 9 years. Used to have different name and owners but they kept it same inside. It's very awesome dive bar type place. Years ago they had a club type place in the basement and just recently we stopped by and they were partying it up. Or down I should say, down in the basement. Sooooo corny LoL. For the most part we go around the same time, late afternoon, before it gets too crowded, because believe me it does. We went after being out all day on Labor Day weekend. Just a couple regulars were there. The juke box is always playing just what you want to hear. If nobody is playing it I usually just go to my app already on my phone and can control and pick songs right from my table. The service is always great and we've had some crazy memories there over the years. Also, the best part, which the hubby loves is that his beer is always on happy hour. Well, not just his, but all drinks are usually on special. Now I can't speak for any other times of the week, but when it counts on Saturday afternoon and evening, drinks are perfectly priced. That's the main reason we go there. So keep up the great service and prices Aguila!! read more

Usually I like dive bars, but this place is the exception. Went in a few days ago for a few cold ones and was disappointed with the irresponsibility of the chain smoking owner. While I was drinking my beer, he and his cronies were chain smoking INSIDE the bar while they were eating. Disgusting. They're remodeling so it's in a bit of disarray. Even the bartender was being irresponsible by vaping while behind the bar tending to customers, but she was good other than that. Drinks should be cheaper than they are for the area, especially for a dive bar that is using outhouses as restrooms currently. They no longer serve food. read more

Very great bar in the area!! Very friendly and kind people. Love the owners and the entire establishment.

Awesome bar on the Westside. There's pool tables and dart for fun. Aguila's has the best Michelada in town!! If you need a shot, try out the Marti-Kazi shots! Made by Martin. Delicious kamakazi shots with other secret ingredients. Come here once during the work week after the office. This is the spot if you're just trying to enjoy a cold one and keep to yourself. This spot is gross... Reminds me of a runaways shack for teens. The fact that it has a bunker intrigued me but during in a tiny baby with 3 tables and 2 pool tables filled with cigarette smoke if not appealing. I get it's a dive but if your gonna smoke indoors you need some major ventilation cuz that shit you have now is garbage! You will take that she'll home with you for sure. read more

I highly recommend this place if your looking for a fun atmosphere and good music! Cheers! read more

I don't go to bars often but when I do they are typically dive bars. This one seemed very underwhelming. The drinks were cheap but it was musty, dirty, and the table was sticky. Exceptional bartenders! Even when it's super busy, my drink is never empty! Best service in the valley!

I've been twice and both times the food was really good. It's definitely a dive bar so don't be expecting it to be anything fancy but that's exactly what I like about about it! Bartenders and wait staff were friendly and accommodating, drinks were great, and there is a really good mix of people. I will be back for sure! read more

I thought we had freedom of speech in america. When I wrote the last review, I didn't say anything that wasn't true. At that time. So why would I be threatened with physical violence from the bartender? Reviews are meant just that a review thats all I did and now you want to threaten me for freedom of speech it just makes your bar look bad sorry you have to go through that Javier read more

I've only been there twice during the afternoon but both times was quite pleasant. It's definitely a dive. But I enjoyed myself. Only reason it got 4 instead of 5 is there was a pup there that liked me a little too much and wouldn't leave me alone but once the owner of the dog saw they took care of the situation promptly. read more

This review is for the Buckeye location, I can't find an updated location to leave a review for that bar but it is the same ownership and bartenders. I'll start with my biggest and primarily only issue (other than the cost of a game of pool being outrageous)... The bartender with the colors in her hair (I think her name was Nic), was absolutely disrespectful to not only me but just about anyone she spoke to (especially women). I sure hope management/ownership handles this unprofessional employee. read more

Okay I'm visiting from Cali and I'm so familiar with little dive bars so I thought I'd give this a try ! Martin was our bartender and it was pretty busy for a Sunday night I didn't expect a lot of people to be there but he handled everyone's order accordingly with politeness! He was playing some good music while making some bomb micheladas with a room full of people.
