I asked Luis if he could do a planter bed demo and concrete pour on one side and on the other side demo a hill, a grass area and junk area to have space for my dog to play, but I didn't want dirt or grass. Luis offered a vision of decomposed granite, and a price that was so affordable allowing me to do everything at once. His quote was reasonable so we set a date, this was a challenging job due to the location on my property along with the size and effort to R&R this palm. Huge Fan of Agro-Tech. They upgraded my entire landscaping in the matter of months. I don't have a "Green Thumb", so Luis with his years of expertise and experience, provided a design that was perfect for the style of my house. Design(s) required new trees and bushes, irrigation change from sprayers to bubblers, and beautiful rock/stone added to the entire front and back landscape. I contacted Agro Tech to help revive my artificial turf and for weed removal. I communicated with the estimator, Luis, and we scheduled a time for him to come look at my concerns. I wanted to "revive" the 4 year old turf and also remove the stuck on fur from two dogs (one being a husky, iykyk). Luis was very friendly and communicative throughout the whole process. He arrived when he said he would and called me ahead of his arrival. We walked the property as I we discussed my concerns. I had what I thought was grass growing in from the neighbor's yard, but that turned out to be burned turf ‍ Luis suggested solutions to the burned turf, but I didn't want to spend additional funds or make it look worse than it already was, so I opted to leave it as it was. I also asked if he could have dirt removed from make-shift garden beds and he said that wouldn't be a problem. The front yard was pretty basic, weed abatement and trimming on a few plants I had. I also mentioned that we didn't use the sprinkler system because I didn't know where the lines went. After about 30 mins of waking the property, he told me his schedule was a few days out, which is understandable. We scheduled a day that worked for me. A two man crew showed up on time on the scheduled day. It took the crew a whole day to work on my requests. I was very pleased with the end results and will be hiring them again! Luis came and I advised him of my desire for a dry river running through a 100'x 18' area. He advised and designed the project, communicated well with me throughout the install and was able to make modifications as we went along and corrected an error on my part after the install. I used Agro-Tech two years ago. I am a single mother and don't normally have extra money for home improvement projects like this. I refinanced my house and pulled a small amount of cash out- just enough to get my yards and floors done. I told Luis that I did not have time to do yard work, as I worked full-time and was also a full-time student. He assured me that there was little to no maintenance necessary with the desert-friendly landscaping. I was very happy when my front yard was initially completed with the desert-friendly landscaping. It looked great. However, after the first big rain of the season, I had tons of weeds and grass growing. An inspection of the materials revealed that the black plastic that was laid down was very flimsy- the green had popped right up through it as if it was nothing. I have since been told by another contractor that it was a very low quality and cheap barrier. They also did not take the lining all the way to the edges, so the green grows there freely. I sent Luis a text letting him know what was going on. He agreed to send his team to "fix" the problem, but he gave the impression that he was doing me a huge favor and going above and beyond his responsibility (?). Essentially, he sent the team to pull weeds, no joke. The next time it rained, everything was back and then some. Long story short, because I *still* don't have time to do yard work (still a single mom and now working two jobs) and can't afford to pay someone to maintain the yard, my house is the eyesore of the neighborhood. I've had three neighbors go out of their way to bring me the contact info to landscapers that they know and they've all asked which company did this to my yard. I would never recommend Agro-Tech to someone who does not know the right questions to ask. I feel very taken advantage of and embarrassed about the way my house looks. They had no problem taking my money knowing full well they were not delivering what they promised and that I would not be able to maintain it. If I was informed of the *real* expectations, I would have stuck with grass and bought a mower. read more

I'm surprised to read so many negative comments about this company. I'll I can tell you is my experience. And my experience was great. Luis met me at my property, gave me what I thought was a fair and reasonable quote for putting in Sod and his crew worked extremely hard for the next two days to transform the front of my house. Not only did they lay Sod but they redid my sprinkler system, planted flowers in the front of my house and put gravel along the northern section of my driveway. I would definitely (and I'm sure I will) use them again. I don't post much at all but for companies and people who do a fantastic job, at a fair and reasonable price, they should be recognized. read more

Update. I used Agrotech a second time to get my front yard done. My wife and I really wanted to have a low maintenance, low water desertscape for the front. Luis claimed he could do it. We had a sod yard that we let die during the drought so I had a sprinkler system installed but a yard of dead grass. Agrotech is expensive but I worked with them again because they claim to stand by their work, guaranteeing a good product. They needed to replace the sprinker system completely and remove the oldsod and underlying dirt. Dealing with Luis during the work was fine, but I'm very unhappy with the end result. They claimed they would remove 6 inches of dirt which they definitely didn't. Less than a month after the job was done my front yard was filled with grass. I was spending hours out there digging and weeding, in the June heat, trying to keep the "low maintenance" yard looking acceptable. They said that the amount of old yard they removed as well as the DG technique they used would prevent grass from coming back but that was absolutely wrong. I attempted to contact Luis several times during that time. He was often unreachable. When I finally got a hold of him, he claimed he would help me then no call no showed and stopped responding to my calls and texts again. In August I started trying to reach the company president, Jesse Cacho, instead. For four weeks I left messages at the business for Jesse or Luis and never received a call back. One of the ladies who answered the nursery phone finally worked with me. She gave me Jesse's cell number and I was able to talk to him. He argued with me about my yard. He tried to blame me for the grass coming back. Finally I convinced him to stand by his company's promise and come fix the yard. Over two weeks they came back 3 times because each time I'd have to call back and argue again since they missed things. Jesse would claim the workers would be there at one time and they would show up hours or days later so I wasn't able to be there to watch them. Over the numerous calls he lied, swore, and yelled many times. I will never EVER recommend Agrotech to anyone. read more

Agro tech started off strong and failed miserably in the end. We spent in excess of 25k and once they got final payment... poof gone. They started off strong and I would have given them the highest review possible.... but....things started to go very wrong. One being the act of relieving themselves... multiple times in our yard and property. They also would not do the things they (not only promised) but guaranteed like: fix the pool plaster they destroyed, replace the dead plants & grass they planted, fix the backyard lamp their crew destroyed, drain cover installation...power washing...sealing the concrete...installing lamp posts on entryway... the list continues. Not only do I not recommend this company... I strongly recommend another landscaper... any other company. I've not only had to pay their bill but had to spent a lot of money to fix the things they broke and replace the dead plants and grass that they put in. read more

Hat's off to Jesse and his whole crew for one Amazing job. Jesse (owner) visited us three times to discuss the work we wanted done before we hired him. No pressure or sales pitches at all (Not like some of the others we had provide a bid). His crew showed up on time every morning and diligently worked to complete the whole project. We did have some changes as the work progressed and that was not a problem at all. Simply let the guy's know what the modifications were and they immediately jumped right on them. Upon completion of the demolition (which was very substantial) they formed for the cement work, along with cleaning and reworking all backyard drainage. Jesse's crew laid a full cement truck (10 yards +) of cement for this project and expertly finished it along with building a short separating block wall in the front yard. They then laid sod, planted all shrubs, bushes and flowers. Most of which were purchased from Jesse's wife's nursery in Quartz Hill (Excellent & Healthy selection). As his crew finished each day they cleaned everything. Even once pressure washing my driveway to ensure it was clean before leaving. We were just so thoroughly pleased with their work that throughout the job we kept Jesse's crew supplied with water & soda. These guy's worked so hard that we even bought them lunch for two of the days. Great Guy's & Great Service! Jesse's bid was Very reasonable and provided for everything we wanted done. It took over a month of calls. He is a busy guy, but since I'd just paid him over 10K, I expected him to be more responsive.
