I was so happy when TD Services told me that they could come out the next day. Tim was right on time, saw the problem and knew what to do. He worked very efficiently and also fixed a light socket in ceiling that had a broken lt bulb piece in it and replaced the light bulb. The charge was VERY reasonable and Tim is very nice. I had heard good things about Eric and Horizon Construction so I asked him to come and provide a bid. He arrived on time (actually a few minutes early) and got right to work! He inspected the roof and not only gave us a bid, but valuable information on what to put in the contract in case the seller went with a different contractor. Eric is extremely knowledgable and glad to share his knowledge, in his quiet and unassuming manner. Unfortunately, the seller of the house opted for a contractor he has used in the past. When the roof was on, we had Eric come inspect it and he found some issues with the job done by the other contractor (things like rotten plywood under new shingles, cheap seals that only last 5-8 years in the TX sun, old and frozen vents that weren't removed that will allow rain into the attic, etc). He worked up a full report for us showing the problems and saved us a lot of money in the process. He's very focused on providing quality work and being fair and reasonable in his pricing. From our interactions, I can tell he loves what he does and has a passion for it - something that makes him great at it! I trust Eric and his company and wouldn't hesitate to send my friends and family to him.

Joe Kasson Painting has done exterior painting of our house twice, the last time in Sep 2007…read more (It's about time we get another paint job!) The paint job includes all exterior trims (eaves, doors and windows, gutters, chimney, garage door). Both times the work were top notch, timely and relatively unobtrusive. The work took a couple of days, IIRC, but only time when I *had* to be present was for the main entry door to be taken off its hinges to be sanded and painted. Speaking of the main door, the workers removed all the door's hardware prior to painting and reinstalled them properly afterward. Everything to be painted are washed beforehand, including with a mild solution of bleach to kill any budding mildew that can ruin the paint job. The painting was done first with power rollers then the wet paint "burnished" with brush to ensure paint adhesion. I can't speak to their price because we did not shop around: we decided to just use Joe Kasson Painting after seeing their trailer in our cul-de-sac a few times when they did work for our neighbors. We are happy customers and will definitely use them again in the future.

My house had a tenting issues in a small area in our family room. Maybe 10 or so tiles had cracked…read moreand needed to be replaced. I was able to get the name of the place where the tiles were purchased so I was hoping to just buy some tiles and replace everything. Well, sad thing is our house is now about 7 years old now and that tile is no longer being produced. That stinks because I had ripped all of the tiles up...oopsies! I came in with a sample in hopes of finding something at least similar in print to what we already had because I REALLY didnt want to rip & replace everything. The associate there, I think her name was Barbara, was super patient with me and we went through each and every tile one by one to compare. Who knew there were so many shades of beige! A great thing about Pounds is that there's no minimum amount you have to buy. I had gone to another flooring store and they had a $100 min...all I needed was 10 tiles and maybe some grout. In any case, I had found a tile that was pretty darn close so I immediately placed an order at Pounds. I think it cost me $20 and shipment came within a week. Unfortunately, I didnt measure my tile beforehand and the tiles ordered were too small and didnt come in a larger size *pouts* So, I had to return the tiles and I'm still left with a tile-less area in my house. For now, it's got a rug over it. Even though things didnt work out, I had a good experience with them. They did mention that they get new stocks of tiles every so often so I'm hoping sometime SOON, they will have a tile in my size (or bigger) that matches!
