Result? Horrific service and customer relations. First of all the waiter at first refused to wait on us because the inside dining room was all reserved and ostensibly the 2 outside set tables with silverware were at risk of rain according to him. When we asked if it was possible to be seated anyhow, since the weather issue seemed a smokescreen, he seemed flustered and caved in , so to speak, only to wait 20 -25 minutes to take our order. In fairness they did bring us wine, but no bread or attention during the rest of the time.
Finally he came to get our order. Alas hopes dashed because the waiter then informed us we all ( party of 4) would literally have to order the same dish or it would take 35-40 minutes to get served. Yes he actually said we all had to order the SAME dishes to get serviced in a reasonable period of time.
It's incomprehensible that they literally were instructing us that it was too much of a bother to service us.
I suppose the 2 outside tables were just for "show" ( see my photos) so I guess the romantic look was to look pretty.
Bottom line: They should have brought in the outside tables and been at least honest; but I'm puzzled by waiters who play the passive aggressive game to discourage the client. It would have been simpler and more honest to simply say " the kitchen is full and we can't accommodate anyone else" then to seat you and condescendingly instruct their patrons that that will be insulted and told what to order because business simply will not be bothered.
When we informed them we were leaving the apologized but didn't actually change anything as far as their standing policy on the food orders. We didn't have to pay for the wine but that wasn't the point.
By the way, it never rained that evening. read more
