I also loved that some pieces actually have little stories attached, like the hand dyed linen set I grabbed from the owner which made it feel extra special. Prices are super reasonable, from outside bargain racks to more curated finds, and honestly it is the perfect spot if you ever need an outfit for an event or a last minute themed moment. Located in a fairly quiet yet spacious strip mall at the corner of E. 8th St. and M St., this particular Goodwill has been serving the Davis community since early-2013. Since it was my first ever time checking this store out (which was for about 45 minutes), I had a pretty good idea how this review would pan out. I came here during the evening on Saturday 7/25/2026 at around 7:00pm. Parking was relatively easy to find while the building showcases the business name in very large blue letters; definitely not easy to miss. There is also a dedicated donation area adjacent to the rear right of the building. And as is the case with many other Goodwill locations around Northern California, this one is open 7 days a week from 9:00am to 9:00pm. Upon entry, one noticeable thing about this Goodwill is that it is significantly smaller than many other locations. The mustard-colors walls give this a slightly more 'boutique' style look while mens/womens/kids apparel, shoes, books, and DVDs are laid out fairly well. There is also an additional room that is separate from the main floor that boasts housewares, kitchenware, and small appliances. This is also where two gender neutral restrooms are located. Sadly, this Goodwill (and just about every other one) eliminated fitting rooms. The reason for 3 stars? I have noticed that prices here are a tad bit higher than what you'd find at the Sacramento locations. Their selection is fairly decent but I only left with just a couple small items. Would I recommend it? Absolutely since the merchandise changes on just about a daily basis. But for me, this Goodwill was just average at best for me which is why I am giving them a 3-star rating.

Inside lots of organized racks of clothing, lots of shoes, a jewelry counter, a room with higher end goods. Then we realized that there was another building next door with housewares and I think more books. We picked up a few things here and took them over to the main building to check out, the cashier was very sweet. I think the prices were fair and benefiting a great cause. We adopted a kitten and weren't told it was with other kittens that were sick and being treated for…read moreparasites. When I contacted them a few days later the girl first said she mix some medication For us to pick up , I contacted another number of where the lab work was done and vaccinations were done at UC Davis and they advised they couldn't release the kittens medical information to me only the SpCA, why? Because the kitten was sick ! Obviously, shouldn't I be aware of medical issues with an animal I just adopted!? about 20 minutes later they said it was not their kittens even though they were currently treating them with meds but that it was my" elderly cat" (he's 10). I took my cat straight away to our vet who tan blood work( $570) took stool samples and advised he needed medication for parasites deworming ect. The SPCA refused to give us the medication for the kitten we adopted but told us it would be best if we just returned him to the foster who was caring for him. All they are interested in is the "DONATION" of $135 or "Fee" . I am happy to donate to the care and rescue of all animals but I will not contribute to staff not doctors giving medical opinions and letting sick animals be adopted knowingly. We were told the cat may have diarrhea due to them changing the food. Clearly this was not the reason. They don't respond to emails, they don't have an office number they are unorganized. I have adopted several cats from shelters and SPCA. This is a common occurrence of how pet adoptions happen.

The "manager " closed down that one check out lane,as he said he had to switch out the money till. He took the checker and her cash drawer, and disappeared into the office. The person they had replace her had to count his money prior to checking anyone out. The "manager " had told everyone in line that there will be 3 lanes open soon. He never came out to help the customers. He loves to talk endlessly. Several of us left our items on the closest shelf, and walked out. I discovered there is another Dollar Tree on Lake st. I went today to find a clean, well stocked store. No annoying poles strapped to the top of the cart. No squeezing through the aisles around their pallets of of food/ supplies. Beware!
