Laura is a great server We have ate there about 6 or 7 times but the food is always great its a cool old building and the decor is cool. So its like a sports bar on the 3rd floor and 1st and 2nd are upper scale dining. Kitchen is on the 2nd floor and open to see. World's best nachos with pork. Happy hour specials are a particularly good deal for the price. Filet mignon slyders with bleu cheese are awesome. Mexican menu items are probably the best in town. Great lobster mac 'n' cheese. Good variety of tasty burgers. Service can be variable, but is generally good. read more

I can't go to Agave Kitchen enough! The ribs are to die for. I got brave and tried a dry rub for the first time ever - you have to try the chipotle garlic. Had I known how good the dry rub was, I would have been ordering that all this time. And if the ribs weren't so good I'd go back to the steak sliders which are also phenomenal. You know how some places have good ribs and then the next time they're mediocre? Not at Agave! Their ribs have never disappointed me! This restaurant is my go-to location for delicious, gourmet, juicy cheeseburgers! With almost two pages of unique, exotic, and downright ridiculous burger options, this restaurant is the absolute BEST option for a good burger. My personal favorite is the Steehouse Deluxe Burger. This mighty beast features a 1/2 lb angus burger topped with barbecue pulled pork and bacon...delicious. If you want another insider tip, try the Chef's homemade baked macaroni and cheese. I heard so many great things about this place that I just had to try it. Not impressed, service was horrible, got the wrong food...after waiting an hour by the way. I had the 1/2 order of chicken nachos which I got the worst stomach ache from and eventually got sick. Great prices is the only thing I can come up with. read more

The food is always good, but it is at most restaurants. The difference here is the people. I stop whenever in Hudson, and it is not often enough for many of the employees to remember me. I still always get the best service anywhere. They don't treat people well because they are regulars, they do it because of some sort of training. They are a group of people who understand what we want when we go out. Just great food and great service. Seems simple, but not all restaurants get it. read more

Went to watch the Packers game at the upstairs bar. Sitting along the wall by the stairs. 5 TVs. 3 on the Vikings game, one on a swim meet, none on the Packers game. In that seating area, only Packers fans. I've sat at the same table dozens of times on a Sunday, and know those TV can be made to operate independently from one another. After listening to our bartender tell us a whole bunch of reasons why changing the channel would screw up some other TV in the middle of the bar, he finally said "I can't figure it out". To him, I would say "go ask somebody who can". To management, I would say "train him". Look at your numbers for the bar today. I saw at least 3 tables walk out in the 20 minutes we were there. Note: the rating is for today's experience only. This is normally a "go to" spot for us on Sundays when we can't get the Packers game in MN. Went here on a recent Friday night & while it was busy, the wait times were unacceptable. The food, when it finally came after a full hour after ordering, was very good though. We started out in the bar & that wait took 10-15 minutes longer than the 40 minutes we were told. Bar selection was good and service very good - but not being from the area, it would have been nice if anyone would have told us that the upstairs was an option. However, once seated we ordered our meals and it took 15 minutes to just get the salads. Waitress was not very attentive and we had to ask her to stop by. We finally asked politely what the ETA was for our meals and the chef came and said "it's busy but we're only at about 45 minutes" as though this is normal?? The food then came quickly, but was actually just warm & not hot (?) - tasted good though. We were not expecting "fast food" or anything close, but we weren't looking for a 2 1/2 hour dining experience and as a result, will avoid Agave if there again in the future. read more

The food is always good but the service tonight was horrible! My girlfriend wanted to get the skinny wings with two different sauces, immediately told no we can't do that, end of story. In customer service don't tell the customer what you can't do, tell them what you can do....for example: we can do two sauces on the side. As a result she did not order anything and you lost at least $40 in revenue with food and drinks. The next issue I had was that I ordered a burger and expressed that I wanted the chips and salsa with it, love the chips and the fries are an up charge anyways. The meal came out with fries and when I let the guy know he acted like it was my fault; are you kidding me! The whole time this guy keeps calling everyone bud or buddy and all I wanted to do is pay the bill and leave as fast as I could. My girlfriend was upset and it was my idea to go here for Easter diner because I thought the food was so good. Unfortunately the bill was wrong because the up charge for fries was still on there and the bartender/server grabbed his coat to go out for a smoke, second time since we arrived and we weren't there that long for just me to eat a burger. I gave you three stars because your food is amazing but without the service it's not worth the price. I have to say that Agave has a great selection of amazing food. The grilled shrimp are delicious along with their wide selection of Santa Fe style food with gigantic mouthwatering Chimichangas and cheesy baked enchiladas. As if that doesn't sound delicious enough their burger/ chicken selections are fantastic! My favorite would be the Shrub burger that includes MACARONI and CHEESE as well as fresh spicy grilled jalapenos all on top of a high quality half pound burger! Their portions are large and their staff is very friendly. Agave is my new favorite weekend spot and after our dinner we make our way to the casual sports bar on the 3rd level where we enjoy our 2 for 1 beverages with the late night crowd and 11 large HD televisions all perfect for their sunday football game specials. Although they don't have a patio their 12-5 happy hour and atmosphere are well worth every penny. Try it out I guarantee you will enjoy your experience. read more

Not a good first impression. It started by our 15 minute wait being 35 minutes (which included the hostess giving our table to another couple), then we get seated and mu husband and daughter ordered soda and we are still not sure what was added to the Coke, it tasted like cinnamon. How do you mess up coke? We ordered a bit later and it took 35 minutes to get our food and not one single time did the waitress come back to refill our drinks, our daughter actually asked the maitre de. We get our food and she finally asks if we need a refill. She dropped the soda fast and then my husband had to wait 5 minutes for some sort of staff to walk by so he could get ketchup and mustard and this happened to be the maitre de again. My husband started eating his well done burger to find that it was rare, and I mean raw rare, but no staff ever walked by again so he just ate around the edges where it was cookde. I ordered chicken nachos and the tops was burnt and the chicken was lukewarm. I pointed out to the waitress when she finally came back when we were done that my husbands burger was bloody rare and it was supposed to be well done and she said that if we would have pointed it out right away they would have fixed it, but this wasn't an option for us since she never came back until that point. She offered a free dessert to go and then came back and said the manager told us we could either have a free dessert of a $10 gift card, okay that's fine. We ordered the Mexican Chocolate Cake to go and although it was good it seriously was a pile of crumbs, we were laughing by then. My husband did say that the cooked part of his burger was very good and the nachos weren't terrible, just not heated well and the cake was good it just looked like scrapings from the pan. Needless to say it really was our first and last visit there. Unless food is disgusting I usually will give places another chance. This was too many errors for a visit and I won't try them again. read more
