Took a drive out to Kailua this morning where this Bookends is located . Next door to Donut King and the old Times Kailua lots of parking available. I guess when you get old it's hard to see all the small Street names and locations in the regular size map book . Now i can see with this bigger Map book I'm a happy camper so now I can be efficient in my job . Some people just are having a day sometimes. Kailua has Classic Waves…read more.. Kailua has some of the cutest shop and I just couldn't resist shopping here as they have some cute items various collection and know exactly what to carry. This cozy shop is filled right from the door all sorts of artsy items easily shop for my besties...and myself lol! Looking for something unique to send to my friends out to the states is challenging at times as the usual items found in Waikiki isn't as crafted with the local flair that we all love, tastefully chosen items are so appreciated. Some of that flair is found here which makes it easy and fun as well besides supporting local is something we all must do along with the helpful and kind staff shopping in Kailua is the classic way to go whenever I'm in the area. She knew that the UH Bookstore would be able to do the transaction, so I went along to take a look... Wow... The Bookstore seems gigantic and modern now! The choices for merchandise have really expanded! There are more products, styles, and designs for everything! For example... The clothing selection... from sweatpants to t-shirts and hoodies... gosh... we never had so much to choose from! Another observation was the accessories department. I don't think bucket hats were popular back in the day... I also saw beanies - which are hardly worn in the 50th State, but they would make great conversational gifts! The clear bags for stadium use were tempting. I like the UH logo... the logo was also on a Santa Hat! Well... I did buy some gifts... I know now where to shop if I need more! P.S. they also carry Eden In Love reusable tote bags - even a crossbody version!

It was also a place for me to take a look at commencement-related items closer to when I walked (Spring 2015) and graduated (Summer 2015). Textbooks were competitively priced and were sometimes even less expensive here than available options through online retailer(s). School supplies for course-specific items were findable. Instructors for my courses did a good job in pointing out specific attributes they wanted in supplies and they tended to match available offerings at the Bookstore. If items were not in stock, workers could provide arrival estimates for next shipment(s). School apparel was available as a decent price. The location of the Bookstore, at campus center, was ideal in my experience.

Sugarcane is this cute shop where you can find all these locally made items for a gift, for the home, fir kids, for a friend, or for visitors. They have books, puzzles, toys jewelry, totes, bags, coasters and more. I love the wooden toys for the kids. I bought a wooden cell phone, a camera, stickers and a cute cooking set. They are my kiddos favorite toys. I've gotten key chains and jewelry for gifts. We have coasters for our home too. The workers are pretty friendly and they also wrapped my gift item too. The items seem pricey, but they are locally made and are unique. I don't think you'll find any ship with the same kind of item that Sugarcane carries.
