We were sent over from the Moana location to see assembled jewelry sets, and informed that the staff can assemble simple jewelry sets. Zero customers and there were 2 staff. They appear unhelpful and disinterested. And unfamiliar with the location of the ready assembled pendants and misrepresented the prices . The girl seem more interested in her cell. Why do they bother to staff the place if they can't even assemble any jewelry. The jewelry that were assembled have blemishes on the pearls so did not buy anything at all. Do not recommend ! The comments about it being hidden is not an understatement! LOL, there is a wealth of useful treasures here. The lady is very helpful and chatty. My first visit was a birthday gift from my mom $100 and 30 minutes (we had an appointment to get to) I can tell you that you will need far more time and far more money. :-) Jewelry displays, wire, bags of all types, tools (not a huge selection but lets face it, there are a bazillion tools for jewelers out there!) some findings, some bigger stuff like magnifiers, tumblers, vices, polishing equipment etc. Even a couple small workbench options. There was a comment made about how expensive things are, I think of it this way, we have two options, the interwebs or local. Local we have very few options... everyone is a bit higher, but really I didn't notice a huge difference in costs. I did find things here I haven't found anywhere else on island. I didn't find any prices shockingly high. I do a lot of supply orders for my creations, and being a small time artist I pinch pennies. In fact I ordered a couple display boxes online recently, one is STILL missing in action, the other arrived, but was inferior quality to this stores, and after shipping I ended up paying more. Not great results, so off I go back to Schwartz for my new display boxes! The few options we do have here on island I do appreciate. Each one has something I need that they offer at the best price... This place for me is the display items and the polishing stuffs. Schwartz is a jewelry maker's hidden paradise. You can find all the high quality metal pieces here that you can't find at your run-of-the-mill craft store. Schwartz also carries high quality tools and classy packaging so you can kiss those shotty wire cutters & ghetto mini ziploc bags goodbye! When I compared the quality products (i.e. sterling silver or gold plated earring hooks), I found Schwartz to be equal or even cheaper than other craft stores. The shop is a bit tricky to find, as it is on the 4th floor of an unmarked building on Bethel St. So don't get discouraged. I use them for there materials in my jewelry business and purely just as a supply store. Even then they have disappointed me 100%. There gold chains are NOT real gold fill chain and they break easily. On top of that the owner is crazy and rips off all the customers. Came here at someone's recommendation as a one stop shop for jewelry making a little while back and decided to make an account and post after sitting on it . I normally do NOT post bad reviews of local businesses as I realize everyone has off-days , but I came in on four separate occasions over the course of 3 months and every single time I either had this one employee who couldn't answer my questions and had to get / ask the owner , or the owner herself who spoke rudely to me ( apparently it's not uncommon , based on others friends' testimony ) and made me feel like I was an idiot for not knowing exactly what I needed . Not only could I barely understand her , she also kept asking me rhetorical questions when I tried to ask what kind of materials I needed to start making jewelry and I ended up with more questions than I started with . I also heard her yelling at / scolding her employees in the back and it made me feel incredibly uncomfortable and awkward ( apparently that's normal too? ) . On top of that , a few of the small leatherette earring / necklace displays I bought are already falling apart and I've only taken them to one show !! I would much rather shop online and just pay the high shipping prices than be made to feel dumb and then get ripped off !!! read more

I was disappointed with the service and help or lack of help that I received when I was there recently. I was inquiring about a product and got help but the person helping me was not very friendly and seemed pre occupied. So, ok, I was not greatly put off by that, but I was a shopper at the old location and the owners there were helpful and friendly. So, after I picked out what I needed I was at the counter/showcase and there were two workers there, the one that helped me earlier and another who may have been the boss or owner, I don't know. Anyway I was looking at a product in the showcase which I was ready to buy,besides the other items that I was going to purchase, but I was not asked by the workers if I needed help, which most stores would ask if they saw a customer looking at a product, I felt ignored and I was the only one there in the store. So, when the worker that originally saw me walked by, I started asking her about the product and asked to see it, she was going to help but the other worker said something and this particular worker went to help another customer who wanted to see something at the other end of the showcase. I was astounded that she walked away and started helping the other person. I was there first. So, I put down what I was going to purchase and left the store. I used to run a family business and would never treat a customer like that, don't workers know that a paying customer is what a store is all about?
