Second time here and the pearls are amazing! We had to come back. It's a great location. Located at Macadamias farm. Cody was great help! So stop by and get your pearls!!!

After all these years this is still my go-to place not just because they have a wide array of jewelry making supplies and displays, but especially because I'm a procrastinator and sometimes need things right away. I'm also a hands-on person and it makes a big difference to see in person what you're getting as opposed to ordering online. The quality This store is open to the general public. You don't need a GE or a wholesale license. They also have sales on their overstock items and they have a catalog on request (though I've never ordered through it). Like everyone says, it's hard to find. It's right across Mark's Garage on the Diamond Head side. Look for glass door and a small lobby, and you'll find the elevator up to the 4th floor store.

100 pearls for $199, various grades, shapes, sizes and colors!

Beautiful pearls and wide range of jewelry supplies for purchase! I try to stop in every chance I'm in Oahu!

Like a game of musical chairs, we circle until someone vacates a spot. Then, there is a wait for carts, unless you grab one from an exiting customer. Inside the aisles are wide (thankfully). The store itself didn't seem larger that other Costcos. For the most part, the store footprint is the same. They offer meat, clothing, baked goods, hearing aids and hot dogs for $1.50 (maybe the best deal on the island). The Costcos in Hawaii also offer fresh poke, fresh sushi and a variety of Hawaii produced vegetables, fruits, fish and coffee. Tourists can even pick up inexpensive Hawaiian shirts and chocolates. We picked up groceries for the week....milk, eggs, fruit, salad mix, the usual. Check out was actually pretty quick. Every lane was open and the clerks move like poetry in motion. Finally, the line to leave the store was 25 carts deep. Argggg! Slowly the line moved. Finally out! Wow! I didn't take photos. I was too overwhelmed.

It's certainly not surprising for the highest grossing, busiest Costco location in the world. What is surprising is just how quickly the checkout process can be, even with the huge number of people in line with the huge carts and dollies. The cashiers and assistants have the process down to a science, and no matter how long the line is, you're typically out in less than 15 minutes. Finding everything you need is always tricky, due to their practice of constantly moving items, and not having aisle numbers. If you can find an employee tho, they're very knowledgeable, and always happy to let you know if a specific item is in stock, and even help you locate it in the maze. Of course, you almost never leave with just the items you actually came in for. It's funny (or maddening) that on this trip, I had budgeted to buy $200 worth of durable food items to donate to the Hawaii Foodbank. Along the way I picked up just a couple off items for myself, and when I checked out, the total was $300. Typical, I guess. Once you're done, remembering where you parked (that's a whole other story) is another thing, but at least you're done. No wonder I usually only come here for the gas, lol.

I haven't tried their hot and ready foods, but the foods that we get to cook with are top notch in quality and value. Hubs is one of those guys who will drive the cart and add what he sees and wants to try, so when I just need one or two things, I leave him home. What can I say, sometimes willy nilly shopping can get expensive! The staff are all friendly and helpful and they have spotlighted areas in Japan which rotate regularly. If you want to know what area they are spotlighting, I suggest getting on the digital mailer so you can see the sales and specials. If you are a fan of wagyu and kurobota pork, this is your spot. When I make sweet and sour spare ribs, this is the only place that I can find the ribs cut long way (makes for more meat and easier eating). If you are a fan of hot pot, they have soups ready to go. They also have veggies and noodles premade and all the cuts of meat for that shabu shabu experience. The construction on the rail makes the entrance a little tricky depending on what side of the island you are coming from, just know there is a back entrance behind the gas station.

I really enjoy the hot food line they have. Everyday there's different dishes they have you can purchase for plate lunches. The store is pretty clean. The only thing is that the store needs to have the floor fixed and redone. The floor has cracks all over the store. Plus the floors are uneven. If you leave your shopping cart unattended, you may see your cart rolling off in different directions due to the uneven floor. The staff is friendly and helpful.

Shopping in Kalihi, Honolulu, Hawaii…read more.. We were in the area and had some time, so we decided to investigate... Hawaiian Beauty Products is located at the end of a warehouse. Drive to the end, and you'll see an opening. It's not air-conditioned, but the room of nail polishes has air-conditioning. Some items were on sale. I was tempted, but I keep telling myself that I don't "need" it... Like the Hello Kitty x OPI set... very cute and kind of useful... I asked the nice woman cashier if there was a restroom. She pointed me in the right direction... thank you! I'll tell my friend's daughter about this place. She's taking classes to be an esthetician. She might need manicure tools, hair color, shampoo, conditioner, acetone, etc.

Hawaiian Beauty Products is basically impossible to find if you're driving but when you're driving up Waiakamilo Road pass the World's Largest Wave Mural it's the building right after that and just go down the driveway which is where you'll see the first sign of this shop. Many parking stalls are reserved for the designated shop so be mindful as they only seem to have just a few stall right in front of the shop. Catering to the beauty professionals mostly for the hairstylist and nail artist the inventory here is quite impressive and seem to carry it all with color, paraffin wax, OPI nail colors and various accessories as well. The shop owners are very friendly and welcoming even has restroom is so greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Even if I could prove that the product is counterfeit, they would not give a refund and would only allow an exchange. I had to go through a stressful exchange with my credit card company of having to dispute a credit card purchase for the first time. This place is generally great if you are a jewelry maker. They have a great selection of crystal beads and genuine freshwater pearls. However, the guy tried to convince me a $600 string of greyish-bluish pearls are genuine "Tahitian pearls" and even the tag says "Sourh Sea Pearls." I made the mistake of not rubbing the pearls before I purchased. Generally, genuine pearls have a slightly gritty feel, and never completely smooth, when rubbed together or when rubbed against your teeth. So when I rubbed it after I purchased, I walked back to the store about 10 minutes later asking for authentication for the pearls and was told there was none. The guy has a language barrier so he took me to the lady next door who also tried to convince me the pearls are genuine even when I told her the pearls are rubbing smoothly. Also -- even if this purchase wasn't such a huge flop, I've been to this store a couple times before I purchased anything. The guy was on his phone the whole time which made a couple of sounds that iPhones make when you take a photo or take a screenshot, so I felt suspicious that he was taking photos of me maybe because he suspected that I'd steal. He was generally disinterested in having to service me.

Shopping in Honolulu's Chinatown…read more.. My friend, Jules, and I were strolling around Chinatown, when we took a detour and stopped inside of a shop called A1 Trading. Even though the door was open, I could feel some air conditioning! (Even though it's "winter", February is still warm in Hawaii at noontime)! The wall to the left was filled with all kinds of bracelets, lucky jade charms and keyrings! I got some good luck (red with a Chinese coin) bracelets that were 4 for $10 - for when I go to Las Vegas with my mom and sister. I also found a cute Hello Kitty key chain that I can give as a nice gift some day! Jules was looking at the jade bangles. They were different prices according to quality. They were offering her a discount on something that fit. However, she wanted a different bracelet that was larger and had a darker color. Maybe she will ho back after she thinks about it more... Anyway, the service was friendly and helpful. The shop had some nice items that I would get later. Now I know where to shop! Note: we went on a Sunday when metered street parking is free!
