Agape has been fixing my ac units for the last few years! We have 3 houses in my Ohana and a total of 10 Ac units! I do use American home shield for my insurance of our houses! Yes it's frustrating for me sometimes when American home shield gives me the run around with authorization or unit repairs replacements ect! I see people with bad reviews and American home shield mentioned but the reality is not agape fault that they have to wait for approval from American home shield! In the end I still have American home shield and I will say that Agape is the best company I've worked with thru American home shield in the last decade! I had this company referred to me by my home insurance company. The first time I had my air con replaced in my living area, that company did such a great job and replacing and sealing the air con into the concrete wall back in really well, This company was a disappointment from the get go. I was waiting for them to call me to make an appointment for about a month, until I followed up with them and the owner said that he didn't have time to call to make the appointment to come over and check what was wrong with my current air con. I finally got the appointment, and the owner came with another worker of his. They took out the old air con and replaced it with a newer model. My building is made of concrete so there is a cut out in it in order to have the a/c in the rooms of my unit. Around my old a/c there was a frame built around it so that it would cover up any space from showing the light from outside of my front door. After they had replaced the air con, the wooden frame around the air con wasn't replaced. They didn't bother to build a new frame to go around the new a/c. This bothered me because I could see 2 cracks in between the wall and air con, and the light outside of my front door would shine through. All I could think about was roaches and geckos coming into my bedroom through those cracks. I finally call the owner back and he come back and fills in the spacing with a black sponge to fill in the gaps. The surrounding frame also wasn't repainted after they had replaced the a/c, so it remains it's regular color vs the gray paint that my room is painted with. So the job they had done, wasn't done well at all. They did a quick job, and didn't complete it. Just left everything as is. Months now has passed, not even 6 months since having the new a/c and now the doormat in front of my door was saturated with water. I didn't know what was happening as there was no water coming out of the tubing from the side of the A/C. Come to find out after looking on the side of the air con, there was water build up. I called Agape owner again and mentioned what was happening and also showed him a video of the water dripping from the side of the outer frame. He told me that it needed to be cleaned. He told me to call insurance to make an appointment, and since then I have canceled the insurance because I was disappointed by them referring his company to me to replace my a/c in my bedroom. I told him that I had canceled the insurance company, and he seemed surprised. He told me he could come by one day and check what the issue was. That day came, and he looked at the a/c from the outside and there was no water dripping at that moment because I had just turned the A/C on. He didn't come up with any tools or anything, so I let him use my step stool and from the side of the A/C he too could see that it was dripping water. He told me he didn't want to take the whole unit out, so he would drill another hole into the bottom, so the water could drain, and put a new tubing into it with air split washer. He told me to turn the a/c fan on to dry out the inside and when it's dry to seal this tubing and tubing ring with caulking. I was shocked. Now I have to go buy some caulking? After he left, about 1/2 hour later I went back outside to check the tubing ring and it had fallen out from the whole. It wouldn't stay on. I played around the tubing ring and was able to finally get it to stick, but it didn't feel sturdy and ended up falling out again. This was now the 3rd time the owner has come back, to try to fix the issue, but it didn't seem like he wanted to do the proper thing which would have been to take out the whole unit to clean it. He had mentioned to me that he would have to do this but didn't want to have to do that, and so he drilled another hole at the bottom of the air con instead and put a new tubing in it to drain out all the build up. Update; On Joon's visit he diagnosed the problem, I needed a new central air system. He shared there was a leak and was able to temporarily fix the problem and provide me with cool air. He promptly went ahead and provided AHS the information needed to replace the system. Joon said, it'll take about 2 weeks. Sure enough, a few days short of 2 weeks- a Thursday night my central air system went out. I reached out to Joon to let him know. He was able to schedule me in on a Tuesday morning. I was grateful that Joon communicated with AHS on replacing my central air system, the part was ready for pick up. The Agape crew was professional, respectful, communicative and kind. I have AHS on my home and rental. I've had Agape assigned to fix central air for the rental, and window unit for my home. Mason came each time and was able to fix the central air, and replace the window unit (it would work only sporadically) They were polite, quick and efficient, and responsive. I own a Waikiki condo with a Trane "chilled water" system. The Choice Home Warranty Company referred me to Agape AC and I was skeptical any home warranty company would have a qualified Trane "chilled water" tech who was qualified to work on my AC. However, Joon and Joseph did such a good job for me, I felt it is my obligation to provide them with this 5-star review. Agape fixed my Trane AC by replacing the old thermostat with a new Honeywell thermostat, and they replaced the water actuator valve which was defective. The Choice Home Warranty Company paid Agape direct for these repairs after I paid my $75 service call fee. Then I paid Agape myself to clean my AC fan coil (evaporator) and completely insulate the inside of my AC box. As a result my 40 year old chilled water AC box got a complete overhaul. I also gave Joon specific instructions on how I wanted my AC upgraded and insulated (I'm a retired engineer) and he followed these instructions to the letter. Further, because both Joon and Joseph had previous Trane AC "chilled water" system experience, they knew exactly what to expect and they acquired all the parts. They pulled the evaporator coil out by grinding the supporting metal frame bolts, and then they even worked with a fabricator to replace my old (rusted-out) metal base plate, to reinstall the coil. Then Joon sweat the copper pipes to replace the water actuator valve, and Joseph did a fantastic job re-insulting the inside of the AC box. I was also glad they used HVAC tape to seal all the insulation seams. Now my AC box is clean and functioning much better. And just as important, I'm not getting sick anymore because they removed the mold in the old insulation. Note: I came to find out Agape is a name taken from the bible, and both Joon and Joseph are proud of their Christian faith. That did not matter so much to me, but I was impressed with their work ethics and overall professionalism. Agape's prices were very competitive too, which I appreciate, and I also appreciate they never cut any corners. They did an excellent job for me and I am sure they will do a good job you as well. I highly recommend Agape if you need any type of AC service! Closing note: When a home owner gets frustrated dealing with their home warranty companies, for whatever reasons, and there are many, I don't think it is fair to leave negative reviews and/or blame the tech who is limited in many ways. FACT: These home warranty companies are structured to minimize or not pay for your appliance repair at all. And there is nothing your tech can do about that. In my case, I think Choice Home Warranty did a reasonably good job covering their part of my claim; but what I can say for certain is that Agape did a great job for me and I think they will do a great job for you! read more

I had used their services previously. Recently, additional AC issues cropped up. They came out and filled the unit with Freon, $550. The unit froze over again, they came back out, $300 in freon and a declaration that the tech "saw bubbles" on the coil. They did not test for a leak, just quoted me $8k to replace the whole system. The AC dumped all the Freon throughout my house. Everyone had headaches, I called a different company, the contractor's leak detector went off the minute he walked in the front door, and continued to go off throughout the whole house. Both the inside and outside unit had leaks, and we probably all had mild freon poisoning. Use a different HVAC company that actually cares about people. read more

Friend had contracted this company to replace this central AC service through American Home Shield. Friend had to wait over 6 months to get them to come to replace his AC. The contractor removed my friends AC unit to replace it with the part that he ordered just to find out that Agape ordered the WRONG part. Now he has to live without a AC that was partially working before Agape came to bring with ABSOLUTELY no AC now because Agape took it out. Now he has to wait 8 more weeks without his AC for Agape to order ANOTHER part to replace what they mistakenly took out.. read more

Very irresponsible! Does not return calls then delays showing up for checking out your A/C unit. Then after all these previous delays, delays the process again by not sending in his diagnosis of the problem. 12 days after he came by to check, our Home warranty told us today he still did not submit his findings of our unit. We already heard negative reviews on Agape prior to him coming over but sadly our Home warranty, American Home Shield, has him as one their contractor list for refrigeration. This company was sent by American Home Shield. Technician came on June 30 and said the AC is not fixable. Today is July 17, 2023! It's been hot and muggy here with no AC. On July 11, 2023, I contacted AHS. According to AHS they are waiting for a report from AGAPE AC before they can proceed and decide action to take in replacing my AC. AHS has always been great in resolving our issues, but it's AGAPE that's holding things up. AHS did contact AGAPE on July 11 but as far as I know Agape hasn't done their part. read more

This was a home warranty incident for my central AC outside unit that for some reason wasn't cooling and was tripping on it's own. American Home Shield sent a dud the first time which was Major Appliance Repair. Had a couple other guys take a look but it's been a week now and Agape AC did there thing. Came on a Friday and diagnosed it, then came back with the part that was needed on Wednesday and it was fixed. I was originally hesitant on all the reviews so far. May 2022. Initial response was good. But that is when it turned. Agape AC was assigned by American Home Shield to fix my duct work. The tech did a quick repair and noted there was a coil leak. He said that the duct would be repaired better when they replaced the coil. Poor communication but AHS approved the replacement. I tried several times to communicate with Agape but no luck. I notified this morning the job is listed as completed on AHS. I hope they are not assigned to do any work at your house. read more

I got AHS so when tbey was assigned to fixed my AC they were great within a day they were there and figured out the issue. They needed to order the part so couldn't be fixed, which is understandable! But, he told me I can use the other 2 AC's that's connected to the one and he turned off the refrigerant for the bad one. So a day later no AC's were blowing cold air I call them back and the lady literally said "oh ok we will send someone out next week"! The same guy along with another guy comes and looks at it within 10 minutes they are gone and nothing was done no explanation to what they did or will do. And come to find out they never ordered the part until that visit and I only knew that because I had to call the company once again to figure out what was going on. Update as of today: 10 August 2021 technician comes back with the part that was ordered spent at least 4 hours at the house to be told that 2 or 3 AC's have to be on to run the cold air and have to make another appointment because nothing a board is messed up. If you got to please stay away from this company I just can never get a straight complete answer from them and then when they come nothing is ever done correctly!!! read more

We needed a new motor for our blower and he and Mason came back 2 days later to replace the old one up in the attic. I have an AHS warranty on my new house and needed help with my Downstairs A/C unit running all the time, even when the A/C was turned off. The tech came out and replaced my programmable thermostat with a non- programmable thermostat. He thought that fixed the problem, but it did not. Then a received a notice from AHS that the call was complete. I paid $100 for a non-programmable thermostat and the issue was never explained to me. read more

They are friendly, professional and extremely thorough with diagnostics and repairs. If I could give 0 stars I would. These people are terrible. They came to fix my a/c and said he had to order a part, and it would take a couple of weeks. We were passed a couple of weeks, so I followed up on a Tuesday early afternoon, and he said he would call me back. I never got a call. My husband calls, and he says he has to call him back in two hours. The guy doesn't call back. My husband calls him again, and the guy is super rude and stating he will call back again. They never came out, refused to give an update weeks after waiting. They aren't professional, or he is not professional, and I don't recommend having them in your home. read more

Horrible horrible company. First they took more than 48 hrs to report the problem to American home shield. They took 4 days to give the report!! They NEVER pick up the calls!! The technician cannot speak/communicate properly- kept mixing up our full sized regular ac units as "mini splits". And the most horrible part was they reported the ac's not working when it was working at the time!! The condenser had the fan on and the home was cooler (not as cool as we would like it to be)!! The day came and he was a no call no show. I called him and he said " I am running late didn't even look up the codes you gave me so I can't come". Working with AHS is never easy, but they managed to get the approval and order the parts for our outdated system. They told American Home Shield that they replaced our account but all they did was change out one small part. AND the AC still doesn't work.... No call, no show! What's disappointing is that my sister and brother in law kept calling and texting but to no avail. "Jun" didn't even have the decency to respond back to let anyone know that he couldn't even come out. I'm so disappointed that our estimate wasn't even done even after making an appointment and blocking out the morning when they could have been doing more important things. DO NOT USE! STAY AWAY! They are dishonest and have no customer service. Took over 4 weeks to fix the AC in our house, and got lied to many times on whether a part was shipped, on backorder, or available. Also, they looked at the indoor unit and said they needed one part. Then it became 2 parts, then 3, then 4. They came across as not knowing what they are doing or how to fix HVAC systems. The last visits they were going to leave without fixing it at all, and we had to convince them to stay and fix it. And that fixed lasted 4 hours at most then it was dead again. The last visit all they did was flush out the secondary drain line and now it works. But the problem is that they should have checked that in the first place before they replaced 3 other parts. They were outright disrespectful to us and I would never recommend them to anyone, ever! read more

Our central a/c stopped working on Friday so my family and I "suffered" all weekend without a/c. On Monday at 8:15am, I called Agape where Jun, the owner, answered on the first ring. He promptly scheduled a technician to come to my home between 11am to 1pm ON THE SAME DAY!!! The technician did come and quickly diagnosed the problem. He told me he would order the parts and let me know when they would be back. On Tuesday at 4:15pm, Jun called to let me know that he was on his way down and gave me a reasonable estimate. Jun and his technician efficiently replaced the 2 motors in my unit and I had my a/c working again by dinner time. I'm so grateful to Agape for saving us from the heat. I would definitely recommend Agape and will be calling on them to maintain my central a/c. read more

Our central AC at home broke lastnight and thank God for Agape AC and Refrigeration! We called at 7:30 AM and within 45 minutes, he was at our home in Ewa Beach to fix our unit. He knew from the short phone conversation with my husband what was wrong and he brought the parts to fix it. By 9:30 AM we had a working AC. Now that's a quick turn around! Much mahalo! read more
