The restaurant decor is beautiful and the crowd is a real mix, I saw couples having a romantic dinner, families and big groups all enjoying their meal. Tucked away near the Spit Bridge it features water views in an intimate atmosphere. The service is friendly, geniune and professional and they helpful with recommendations. The menu is concise but everything is done well. We had the crab felafel, chicken and leek croquettes, lamb kofta, halumi and rocket salad, paella, beef cheeks and he dessert tasting platter and could not find any fault. The food is authentic, fresh and delicious and the staff help pace the meal well. The beef was especially good, it cut like butter and featured a wine glaze, the rose water rice pudding was also a highlight. Afous is really an experience, the food is made fresh to order so enjoy some wine or a cocktail and soak in the atmosphere. Enjoyed both dinners and will be back soon!

Let's start with the owner: he is the most wonderful, gracious and hospitable host I've ever met. His opening line is "welcome to my home" and it's all good from there. Each time I've been here (3 times in all), I have just asked him to choose the dishes and keep them coming until we say "enough". Given this is a Moroccan tapas kind of place (whatever that is?), it's more "ca suffit" or "hallas" with my best French or Arabic accents, respectively. Food is varied and delicious and small enough so you can try many things. BYO and bring your good stuff to go with the meal. No corkage fee, and they will keep whatever you want chilled until you're ready to go. For example, one time we dropped off our wine and beer before heading out on a boat. They happily held it in their fridge for us until dinner. Last good thing is that A Fous is really not that expensive, especially if you bring your own beverages. All you can eat (see above!) was about $170 for 2 couples. That's first rate for an elite eat here in Mosman.

After a few searches I decide upon Balmain, a suburb of Sydney, directly across the harbor. Balmain like most areas around the harbor have an interesting history - look it up. Back to the meal - the tenderest chicken kabob ever! So good, I decided to take the last portion back to my hotel. The appetizer- Arnabeet was fantastic. If you like this cuisine - make the short trip by land or water taxi. The only reason it's not 5 star - they served me Sprite instead of lemonade- forget that - 5 stars - I should have asked for another drink. I'll return for lunch in near future and take fotos when I have more ambient light. Kudos to the chef! The key here, is that they do each dish well and there's not just one specific focus or specialty. Mexican tacos Lamb shoulder, refried beans, red cabbage, corn tortilla, mint yogurt and hot sauce. With lime. Can get a bit messy and the plate wasn't wide enough to prevent some liquid leakage. Love the yogurt and hot sauce pairing, which really characterizes the dish because the lamb, while juicy, doesn't carry much flavor on its own. Katoomba fried chicken KFC Marinated thighs, cabbage slaw, wasabi mayo, allspice and lime. Nice big bowl of zesty slaw - the chicken is average, hard fried. Not bone-in. Singapore Laksa Rice noodles, prawns, boiled egg, fish cake, tofu puffs, bean sprouts and coriander. Easily the best of the lot, particularly on a cold and gloomy day. Theres so much action going on here - fresh plump shrimp, diverse textures and flavors as well has a tummy quenching broth. Some takeaways for no bathrooms and you have to bus your own dishes. Situated in Surry hills near a number of local shelters, it is situated perfectly for diners to really understand what they're contributing to. It is there to encourage compassion and understanding of others. What is remarkable in this financial driven world is that 100% of the profits are used to enact change. The pay wages, staff and then profits are 50% selected by staff and 50% selected by customers. You place a rubber ball in a jar and the money goes to different charities. On the counter we're some amazing brownies, friands and other cakes. We opted for dining in and sat outside, ordering a granola with yogurt, milk, rhubarb and poached pear. A lovely little dish. We also got the fried haloumi with poached eggs and salad. Accompanied with a cup of brewed tea and a cold brew. Great breakfast options and a lovely environment. Servings may seem a little small, but you can always get a sweet treat to go.

At the time I was there, there was only one other person who sat indoors. The interior design of this restaurant is modern yet elegant - had some middle eastern touches on its design. Upon looking at the sample menu in the front, my eyesight glued upon chicken pilavs (Turkish style risotto) as it has cream sauce and was pan tossed with sliced mushrooms, cubed chickens and shallots. It was definitely tasty like what the menu described. It has lemony taste, the pilavs was soft yet chewy and the cream was in right proportion to linger the tastebuds. It was still hot when it was served and realized that just after I put a spoonful of it in the mouth. Tried the lemon lime bitters. It was actually soda with syrup. Was fizzy when it was served and you would need to stir the bottom to mix the beverage. Was pretty good as it has strong fruity taste that I yearn for. Overall, price wise it was pretty high for me but probably on the normal range for Australian market. The lady who served me was also cheerful and asked me how was the food. Seemed like many people had commented "loved it" that she wasn't responding to my comment. Will be back again if I'm craving for more risottos.
