Amazing food. Wish the owner would talk to his servers in a much more respectful and less condescending tone.

Over the past 8 months I've visited Sydney 4x and stay in CBD. Obviously there are numerous…read morerestaurants in the CBD but on my last night I wanted to experience a local neighborhood. After a few searches I decide upon Balmain, a suburb of Sydney, directly across the harbor. Balmain like most areas around the harbor have an interesting history - look it up. Back to the meal - the tenderest chicken kabob ever! So good, I decided to take the last portion back to my hotel. The appetizer- Arnabeet was fantastic. If you like this cuisine - make the short trip by land or water taxi. The only reason it's not 5 star - they served me Sprite instead of lemonade- forget that - 5 stars - I should have asked for another drink. I'll return for lunch in near future and take fotos when I have more ambient light. Kudos to the chef! March 2018, I came back for another wonderful meal and look, Kazbah was at the end of the rainbow!

We were absolutely STUFFED. What a fabulous breakfast with a great sweet and savoury mix. The only thing that would've made it better was if either the pancake wasn't as thick or there was more maple syrup as the pancake was pretty dry. We have never been so thankful for a blocked sewer. Let me explain...we were going to a show at…read morethe Seymour Centre and were going to grab a bite to eat at a little hole in the wall place on City Road. But the sewers were blocked and had huge crews of people working on them. The smell was...interesting and not conducive to dining, so we retreated round the corner onto Glebe Point Road and found this place. We were in a hurry so didn't have time for a full meal but what we had was fantastic. Beautiful spicy sausages. Baked kibbeh. A sort of lamb ravioli with rice and an amazing goat yoghurt sauce. They had some beautiful looking desserts as well but we didn't have time. They also had a huge range of home made traditional pickles that I am dying to try. We will definitely have to go back for a more leisurely meal when we aren't rushing to be somewhere else.

I have come here three times now and have tried almost everything on the menu. The best dishes, in…read moremy opinion, are: DIPS - hoummos with lamb and pine nuts; yoghurt with cucumber (tzatziki) SALADS - fatoush; tabouli MAINS - lamb mansaf; shishbarak; chicken shawarma; samkeh-harra SIDES - potato coriander; falafel; kebeh (baked or fried) If you come in a large group, I'd recommend ordering a la carte rather than any of the banquets. A la carte will get you more food for the same amount of money, with a better variety of dishes. Service here is generally quite friendly, although the last time I came there was a minor hiccup with our bill. When I went to the front counter to pay, I pointed out to the owner that one of the dishes we'd ordered hadn't been served to us, and I requested that he remove it from the bill. He checked my story with our waitress, who insisted (rather aggressively, I thought) that she had brought the dish out. After the waitress was out of earshot, the owner told me he was 'in an uncomfortable situation' because the waitress (note: I call her a waitress because she served us our food, but she could have been a manager or co-owner) had 'been working at the restaurant for 20 years' and 'wouldn't lie'. I maintained that I wasn't lying either. To his credit, he accepted my story and removed the item from our bill.

After passing by several choices, we were both happy we made the choice to stop in. While the outside area is hookah oriented, the indoor seating is vibrant and comfortable for a full and proper meal. We stopped in around 8 pm and proceeded to order a mix of items. To begin, we had the three dips (baba, hummus, roasted red pepper hummus) which was the perfect starter given how hungry we both were. Additionally, the V mango mojitos were the right balance and quenches our long walk induced thirst. The fried kibbeh were next, piping hot and delicious. For the entree portion, we shared the large and plentiful lamb shank tagine (broth was solid and the lamb shank was melt in your mouth good) and the chicken shish kebab (the sauce and marination was exceptional). Both were presented very nicely. The chicken was exceptional and the tagine was very flavorful. We ended the night wuite appropriately with some nice, piping hot tea. Overall, the meal was a very memorable part of my Sydney trip - definitely recommend the food, ambiance, and the smooth dinner experience.

They were so enticing, baba ganoush and all, you couldn't stop eating the addictive food! I also really enjoyed the mains, and loved how the meat was brought out on a skewer - it looked a little badass, like a sword skewering the prey! Overall, great place to eat, although the service isn't very polite, and have a tendency to be a little impatient!
