The hostess showed me the menu and allowed us to pick our own table. We chose the ham sandwich as well as the toast and jam with a little bit of vegemite to try. Ordering is done at the counter where you are given a number and your food is brought out to you. Again, the young lady behind the counter was friendly and hospitable as well as the barista who had a great sense of humor. The sandwich was good, toasted, with avocado, cheese and a fresh green salad. The vegemite I believe is an acquired taste oh and we did have a chocolate shake which tasted good as well. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who is visiting the area. As the workers are friendly, hospitable and welcoming.

I order the Salmon fishcake and there is no thought of unusual of serving a big fishcake solo on a big oversized white plate. It looked rather forlorn sitting by itself and as I begin to dissect it starts to crumble strangely because it is so dry. There are two other people in the cafe one I believe might of been the owner and I think it's rather empty because of the time of day which is brunch time on a Monday and our spring has not started off well with a consistent three weeks of rain. The coffee is equally disappointing as it manages to be watery and burnt at the same time. I try to focus on the decor but it only confirms that it needs some splash of bright to remind us that we are entering into a summer. Perhaps Summer will bring a needed change and a revisit will require an update of this review.

It's a pretty simple layout with almost bench seating across one side and a few table sprawling onto the street. Clearly everyone else knew about this place because there is always a a couple people hanging around. They serve allpress beans and dish up quite a good cuppa for 'burbs coffee'- in fact it's the best coffee I've found in Avalon so far. I came here after a post beach lunch and went for the spinach, goat cheese, cherry tomato and avocado on rye toast which was pretty awesome- a solid half a star of this rating is attributed to that super tasty rye bread alone. They also do fresh juices- I tried the pineapple, mint, ginger and something juice which was pretty tasty. They staff were really chilled and friendly and the guy didn't care at all that I changed my order like 3 times. They were also going above and beyond to help give a recommendation to a couple not from around here about a nice restaurant in the area. Really enjoyed this place and kicking myself I didn't discover it 10 years ago!

The menu board changes regularly and you order inside and take a number before you sit down at one of the tables inside or out. The view over Pittwater is spectacular. The menu has fish, burgers, salads and some starters. The prices are at the higher end and it seems they compensate for this by serving huge portions. My fish and chips was quite ok albeit a bit greasy. I would come here again for a drink and perhaps order a meal to share between two. I have never been a fan of wasting perfectly good food and I think the cafe should advise people that some of the meals could be shared.
