I went to Agnes since she was referred by a few girls on a bridal Facebook group I'm in. After reading several reviews and viewing pictures of several dresses she had done, I reached out to her for a quote. Since Agnes had her own studios near me, was reasonably priced, responded in a timely manner, and communicated in a clear and friendly manner I opted to put my trust in her to alter my wedding dress. I bought my wedding dress in a size 16 but had lost 30 lbs since and the dress was already not going to fit me correctly to start since I'm 5'3. Basically, to trust someone with my dress was saying a lot since it needed an overall. I was also very nervous about price, it being done on time, and honestly it not getting destroyed with the amount of alterations needed. Agnes hemmed the dress, removed some of the bulk of the skirt from the side so it would be easier to move in, added the bussel points, took the dress in on both sides, added bra cups, took out fabric from the chest area, redid the chest area since it still had too much fabric, tightened the straps, took in the back straps, took in the arm pits ,took in the butt area, added another hook in the back. When it was done it was so much smaller and had a lot more shape to it. I was actually excited to put it on! We started the process 6 weeks out from my wedding so I was my most accurate weight (make sure to contact her to schedule much farther in advance though) and she had the dress to me about a week and a half before the wedding which was perfect! What is great about Agnes is her work is fantastic and reliable (you don't want to chance your wedding dress), she is a great communicator (You won't wonder what work is getting done or how much you will be paying), her prices are reasonable, she will give you her honest opinion on everything, and she will do everything in a timely manner. Word of advice, ALWAYS LISTEN TO AGNES! She is truly a great designer. She made the whole wedding dress process easy, and has great advice. My first experience with Agnes was with my wedding dress. She even helped me through the buying process, as I had wanted sleeves with my dress and wanted to be sure that it was possible with various dress designs i was looking at that weren't offered with sleeves. After finding a dress, she designed the bustle for my very, very, very large train and it looked like a fairytale! She made sure I understood the process of putting it up before I committed to the intricacies of it, and it was very intricate (like 36 ties) It was all worth it! I came to Agadesal by referral from my best friend's seamstress for her wedding. Agnes was nothing short of professional, creative, and always cool and collected. I had several fittings in her studio over the course of 2 months because I kept losing weight, or the dress wouldn't fit right when I would come in for each fitting. Each time my "last fitting" occurred, I had lost more weight and the dress didn't quite fit now. I was panicking that my wedding dress wouldn't look or fit right - especially now that the countdown was getting much too close for comfort b/c I kept changing - and Agnes always gave me options on what we could do to make it more to my "loving" (not just "liking"). She always made me feel comfortable that everything would work out - even while I was panicked. She was honest about what would work with the dress and always frank about what couldn't be done. She helped me change the length of my straps, remove a layer under the dress, she brought part of the front of the dress down, and I had her remove all the beading that covered the dress - changes after changes. And even though it was my fault I kept continually changing, she was always professional and courteous, giving me options so I could indeed love my dress. Never once did I feel like she wouldn't be able to make it. Her prices were very reasonable, and she does suggest steaming the dress to have a crisp, perfect look. Agnes at Agadesal is absolutely WONDERFUL to work with, and I would recommend her to anyone needing dress alterations or looking to have custom dresses made. Agnes altered my wedding dress, and the entire experience was top notch. She is quick to respond to emails and calls and is very professional with her business. At my initial dress fitting, one of the things I really appreciated was that Agnes first listened to what I wanted done and then talked me through all of the alteration options (along with costs) so that I felt comfortable with what we were doing. She also recommended a few things that made my wedding dress even better - like a train strap to hold the dress up and a few extra bustle buttons so it laid nicely while I moved around and danced. My wedding dress turned out absolutely PERFECT!! The alteration costs were also very reasonable! I live in the city and the quotes I got here were almost twice as much! But, I have to say my favorite part of working with Agnes is that it's so clear that she really does care about her clients and wants them to be so happy with the final product.
