Inconsistent- sometimes their work is great makes you want to come back, other times they lose your items and claim to not find it until months later. Then when you specifically ask for items to only be dry cleaned and folded instead of hanging and they don't do it. When you buy clothes and they are folded they are usually not intended to be hung- they claim all clothes can be hung. Even with proof that shoulders are stretching from hanging. Some materials cannot be on a hanger. You bring your clothes to cleaners because they require further care not to be careless and be given excuses, and no apology. Not returning. This is an update from my previous review. The next morning after I received the wrong dress the owner called to apologize and confirm that I did in fact take home the wrong dress. I came in to give the dress back and she had my original dress waiting on me. However, I was nervous how this dress would fit because she altered it to someone else, as we got the dresses mixed up for my 2nd fitting. But she took the dress in and hemmed it so it ended up fitting pretty well. She was very apologetic and gave me a discount for $30 if I need anything else Tailored. I'm just happy this was resolved and I understand mistakes do happen. I still believe that she needs a better system in place to keep herself organized! They don't deserve a star.I needed my dress shorten. They asked for $60, said it won't be the original hem stitch and might finish in 2 weeks. I asked for a discount because the dress itself is $100, it doesn't make sense to give $60. She said "THAN GO BUY A NEW DRESS." and she didn't stop there, she said "YOU BUY $5 STARBUCKS COFFEE BUT FOR THE DRESS IS EXPENSIVE." I had a cup of coffee in my hand NOT from starbucks and it's NOT any of her business. My money is hard earned and doesn't involve ripping off people. It was unacceptable and disrespectful! I wonder what they say behind my back if this was to my face. I left and found a place that does it in ORIGINAL hem stitch for HALF THE PRICE. So DON'T get rip off and be disrespected! get prices from other places around the area. p.s. leave your coffee in the car because she will think you are rich and overcharge you. read more

My family has been using Farmgate for years. It's conveniently located right off of Roselle, in a plaza with a Walgreens and a DQ amongst other things. :) We've never had an incident and our items have always been ready on time. Moreover, the staff are very friendly and remember everyone in our family by name even when I had been gone to college for a few years! My highest compliment for them is not just that they do the typical cleaning well, not just that they are friendly, but that they are expert tailors. They have made precise adjustments to delicate dresses for me on more than one occasion, and when I got back a silk skirt today that I asked them to let out, I couldn't tell what they'd done (in spite of the fact that they'd had to find and add material because the skirt was so tiny!). Ruined one panel of rubber lined drapes that they cleaned. When I unfolded the panel to hang it, it was stuck to itself (rubber to rubber). When I pulled it apart the rubber came off one side and suck to the surface it was folded to so I have areas where small pieces of the rubber lining are gone and areas 6 inches by over a foot where the rubber backing is pealed off and stuck to the surface it was folded to. They said it was the dry cleaning solution that made the rubber sticky or I think it could have been the steaming. read more

Great and friendly service from these charming sisters. Came here to get my bridesmaid's dress altered and they did a great job bringing it in so it fit just right. When I came to pick up my dress and try it on, I accidentally ripped one of the ruching seams (oops!) and she fixed it right there without charging me extra. She even hid some safety pins at the bottom inside of my hem incase I or one of the other maids needed them in an emergency! Decided to come here for some alterations after I read Jeka's review. Super friendly staff and they remember you when you come in. Very affordable and very quick--I put my trouser pants and coat in Monday and they were done by Wednesday, and during the holidays!!! Pants look great as does my jacket. Dry cleaning seems a bit pricy but after reading the reviews, I had to check this place out. I came to get a peacoat dry cleaned and they charged me $17 (after a coupon discount for it). They definitely did an awesome job getting all the fuzz off. The major plus is in the few minutes I was there, there were about 5 people that walked in and out and it seemed like the ladies behind the counter knew exactly who each person was and had a good relationship with each. She even remembered what I brought in 3 days back and was very friendly. I'll definitely be back! read more

We LOVE this place. We've been going since as long as I can remember. We live only about a half a mile from here so it's always been so convenient for us. The people who work here are adorable and so efficient! And they couldn't be nicer! Any time I've needed something, they always remember me and always do such a great job. I've come in there needed pants hemmed, zippers fixed, stains removed, you name it! I've never had a bad experience here. A quick caution, if you do go in wanting your pants hemmed, please bring the shoes you normally wear with said pants. I know that probably goes without saying but they really do like it when you come in prepared with the proper shoes so they know exactly where they should hem. Bravo, Farmgate. I went here because of the reviews on Yelp. I brought in 4 dresses and a suit to be cleaned. I walked in and 2 woman said hi very friendly. The woman that helped me was very excited for me to be there and we introduced ourselves. She asked when I needed my stuff and I told her Friday. Before I left she told me that it was nice to meet me and that she would see me Friday. I picked up my dry cleaning a little late, I forgot about Friday. The woman again was super nice. She remembered on of my dresses with a broken zipper. She said it was very easy to fix if I wanted. I declined since I never wear that dress. I found the prices to be cheap. $40 for all the dresses and suit and such friendly service. read more

I had bought a tunic style tank top and when I got it home I discovered that I really hated the length. I absolutely loved the design on the shirt so I decided to get it hemmed. After reading the reviews I decided to go to Farmgate Cleaners to get it altered. When I picked it up today I could tell just from seeing it on the hanger that it was going to be perfect. They are the best dry cleaners around, however they are not so good at alterations. I had a pair of pants hemmed and they ended up being way too short. I've also had a dress altered there, and that didn't turn out well either. They are so sweet and the service is great, I just don't recommend having them hem anything. read more

Ok. So, i ended up at Farmgate Cleaners because I needed 3 tops (and inside tanks) hemmed about 1-1.5 inches. I previously went to Peter Pan cleaners and was told that the items were not worth hemming. When I arrived at Farmgate, she told me it would be $15 per item (including the tank inside). I agreed and said that the price was reasonable compared to Peter Pan. She asked how much PP charged, I explained $14 per item (not including the tanks). She asked me to try one on and also stated that I should get them pressed. Because it seemed reasonable, I agreed to get them pressed. Bringing my total to $60. I was happily on my way. A couple of hours later I received a phone call from Farmgate. They "made a mistake". They had to charge me $70, not $60 as stated on the ticket, because of the tank tops. She then stated "it's a better deal than Peter Pan, they want to charge you $84" (which is incorrect, they wanted $74 and they are located right behind my house). At this point I agreed to pay the $70 because they have my clothes. read more

Customers Beware! After I had a pair of my husbands pants dry cleaned at Farm Gate Cleaners I noticed that the pair was not his. Although they are black, they did not have the correct store label and same quality as I had brought in to be cleaned. I returned to the store with the a pair of his pants that are the same pant (different color) and store label to compared with the pant that I gotten in return from our cleaning order. I found out the pair we received is from a store that has left the area since 2010, and my husband's pair were only bought last year. The owner was loud and unprofessional, saying there was no way it could of been mistaken for another cleaning order. Although, when I picked up the pant she didn't use the computer at all to locate the order. So a common black pair of pants not checked to verify the correct customer order can most certainly be mistaken for another. read more
