The technician arrived promptly, studied our door, and let us know what the problem may be (old parts and cold weather being among the main offenders). They do charge a service call fee but it was lumped into the total price including the parts he replaced to get our door in tip-top shape! Overall, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Advanced Door Works after our painless experience. We'll definitely keep their number in our back pocket for any future garage door issues.

I cannot imagine why I wasn't at least given the option of getting handles at the time of purchase. As an older and small woman, I had a dangerous problem for getting my car out, without any handles. Today, I called to get the problem solved, and a bullying woman would not give me any idea about the cost of getting the handles (which I think should have been there in the first place), AND I was going to have to make two separate appointments, one for an estimate and another for the repair. Unpleasant experience.

I had three contractors offer to get the work done on Friday, but Sean was the only one who said he would be there first thing Friday am so we chose his Company. This of course meant I had to go back to the other vendors, and was not able to get the work done until Saturday. Sean was very apologetic, and it sounds like it was a mistake, but he still did not offer to come over and help get my cars out of the garage to at least allow me to have them for the holidays, which would have been the right thing to do.

After a ridiculous experience with another garage door installation and service company (feel free…read moreto read my review), Modern Overhead Door was recommended to me by a friend who had new doors and openers installed at his house. I called them on a Friday afternoon and John was out here the following Tuesday. John came out at 4:30pm and had the door repaired and operational in under an hour and was more reasonably priced than the jokers that came out originally. He pointed out that I definitely DO need a new door, (which I knew to be the case) but he didn't try to convince me that it couldn't be fixed without replacing the door. That said, I got a quote from John on a new door and jack shaft opener since my kids' rooms are above the garage and will UNDOUBTEDLY buy the new door and opener from him. John's communication was great, his demeanor was professional and the guy shows up with tools and materials ready to work. I HIGHLY recommend Modern Overhead Door to ANYONE that needs their garage door repaired, or need to replace a garage door or garage door opener. My buddy raved about John coming out to his place to install a couple doors in -8° weather. He was so impressed with his professionalism and work ethic that he purchased a couple jack shaft openers from him and had him out shortly after doing the doors and now I'm in the same boat. In no uncertain terms, if you need a new garage door, garage door opener or need your garage door repaired, don't think twice about calling Modern Overhead Door.
