Steak Tacos with their house sauce.
    Ashley M.

This place is a hidden gem that deserves to be known. My first time here and the place is so nice, clean and inviting. The staff were so friendly and helpful in assisting me with my meal selection. It was so hard to choose because everything looks amazing. The service was quick and attentive. I got the steak tacos with sweet plantains, roasted corn, pico and their house sauce which was amazing. The portions are huge and at a great price as well. I also got a side of jollof rice and it was perfectly authentic. I'm definitely coming back and I'm going to be ordering their larger family meals for dinner. And their handcrafted drink Lagos Sunset is a perfect beverage with the meal. I'm so excited I found this treasure and they have another location off Blanco.

Amazing, well seasoned food. Huge portions at a great value! Love their plantains, suya chicken, wings and jollof rice! The House sauce and pepper sauce are so good with their wings and grilled corn. Grilled vegetables also very good. Misty and Joanna provided very good service and restaurant was nice and clean. The Lagos sunset drink had an odd taste and the hibiscus was a bit tart but love that they're made in house. Maybe I'd try on a different day. It would be nice to add sugar free soda. Another thing is when I ordered twice I used my phone number and didnt earn points on the app even after signing up. Other than those 2 notes this was a 10/10 experience.

AfroTex on Babcock Road is officially the new spot in town to try. The food was absolutely delicious and packed with amazing African flavors. The hubs and I tried the Chicken Bowl and the Steak Suya Plate, and both were incredible. The meat was soft, tender, and full of flavor. The jollof rice was perfectly seasoned, and the plantains, corn, and sweet peppers tied everything together beautifully. Every bite was delicious and felt like food for my soul. Our hostess was also wonderful and helped us order from the computer menu. I appreciated that she took the time to make sure my sauces were placed on the side due to my ulcers and sensitivity to spicy food and she swapped me to ranch :) That level of care and customer service really was appreciated :) The food came out fast, portions were generous, the price for the bowl was around $15 and the plate $25 and overall it was such a great experience. I truly hope they never change a thing in the future. Too many restaurants start off strong and later begin cutting portions, changing ingredients, or raising prices while lowering quality. AfroTex feels special, and I can't wait to come back again soon and try the salmon! It's such a vibe and I felt like the Motherland was calling me home ! Highly recommended

NEW HALAL AFRO-TEX FUSION IN SATX This place really knows flavor! After rebranding from Suya Mix Bistro, they officially opened their brick and mortar near UTSA just last month. The hype is real for this spot!! Also, their entire restaurant uses 100% CERTIFIED HALAL meat! Afro-Tex Grill combines the best of both worlds- uniquely combining West African street food with Tex-Mex favorites - to create something extraordinary that San Antonio has never seen before. They serve fresh rice bowls, flame-grilled meats, burritos, and more that will give your tastebuds an experience like no other. This is a fast-casual restaurant, meaning it's perfect if you're in a rush, or if you have time to sit down for a bit. Order at the counter, and get your stuff fast! You know you're in for a high quality experience! I absolutely loved everything at AfroTex Grill . The food is such a unique find for the San Antonio area!

Bowls were sooooo delicious. The food was full of flavor and very filling. They did not skimp on anything. My husband and I both had the chicken bowls. The spice was just right and the ambiance was an a plus. It was crowded and the service was great. We had called in the order because we knew with something so good, it had to be packed! I hope it never goes away. Please support local businesses like this. It has high quality for the prices. Thank you afro tex for bringing something so innovative. We loved it!

Omg as soon as I walked in the door it smelled so good. The service was kind and provided great recommendations. I had the salmon bowl and my son had the steak bowl. It was delicious I do wish there was more salmon in my bowl but I'm def gonna go back.

Flavorful, filling and delicious. Love the spice, and savoriness of the steak, with the sweetness of the plantain. I will be back.

Food was delicious and spicy!!!! I am a huge fan of Nigerian food so I ordered the beef Suya plate. Everyone was super friendly and the food came out fast. Will definitely be back to try more !!!

2/5 stars I came…read morehere around 10:00 p.m. on a Sunday, about an hour before closing. There was no line, only a few people sitting at the bar, so I wasn't expecting a long wait. The first issue was using the InKind app. We spent about 10 minutes trying to figure out how to use it because ordering ahead wasn't working, and none of the employees seemed familiar with the process. One employee was patient, friendly, and genuinely tried to help us figure it out, which I appreciated. After finally placing our order, we were told it would take about 15 minutes. Instead, we waited roughly 40 minutes, and didn't receive our food until 11:00 p.m., right at closing. I understand we came during the last hour before closing, which is why I specifically asked if we had enough time. If the kitchen was backed up or our order was going to take 40+ minutes that late in the evening, I would have completely understood. I just wish we had been told that up front instead of being quoted 15 minutes. By the time we received our food, it was closing time. Thankfully we ordered it to go, because if we'd planned to eat there, we wouldn't have had the opportunity. When our food was finally ready, the bag was already ripping because something inside had leaked. The employee noticed right away, grabbed two new bags, and repacked everything, which I appreciated. We ordered quite a bit to sample the menu: the Cali Chick (lettuce wrapped), Hot Chick, Buff Chick, Little Mule, Totchos, onion strings, sweet potato fries, and a Teriyaki Chicken Caesar Wrap (which we haven't tried yet, so I can't comment on that one). Unfortunately, the food we did eat was very disappointing. The lettuce-wrapped Cali Chick was a mess--the lettuce was so wilted it couldn't even function as a wrap. The onion strings, Totchos, and sweet potato fries had all lost their crispness by the time we got them, and everything was lukewarm or cold. The Little Mule ended up being our favorite burger, while the Hot Chick definitely delivered on the spice. Ironically, the sweet potato fries were my favorite side, even though they came in the smallest portion. Our total was over $100 before the InKind discount, and I honestly wouldn't pay full price for this meal. The quality just didn't match the price. I don't know if the kitchen was short-staffed or if something else was going on that night, but waiting 40 minutes after being quoted 15 minutes--especially with almost no one else ordering--only to receive cold, soggy food was incredibly disappointing. I do want to give credit to the employee who helped us. He was polite, apologized several times for the delay, and even repacked our order when he noticed the leaking bag. Unfortunately, the overall experience and food quality just didn't live up to the price. Based on this visit, I couldn't justify spending over $100 for the experience we received. I hope this was just an off night, but it was disappointing enough that I felt it deserved a 2-star review.

We'd rather have the thick cut fries of fatburger but I digress. They have milkshakes as well but we didnt try those. Overall, the service was good. We had to call the Hardy Oak location in order to find out if they were open. No matter how many times we called no one answered. When we ordered online, it was for curbside pick up but when I got there, there was no assigned parking for the curbside and even the employee was confused about that. She was very nice about it and when I called the number on the door, someone actually answered. She came out to my car as I parked directly in front of the store to retrieve my food. It's unfortunate that Fatburger closed but we have a new sheriff in town: Chuzz burgers.

It was pretty crowded and they were under staffed so the wait time was longer but worth it. I surprisingly really really enjoyed my burger. I'm usually not a burger person, so I was pleasantly surprised and satisfied! They do shredded lettuce and mustard in their burgers which I'm not used to but again, I really enjoyed it. Overall good experience. I will definitely try it again whenever I visit CA or fiesta six flags.

A gentleman came from the drive-thru and asked if I had been helped. I said no, so he went ahead and assisted me with my order. I told him they had forgotten my drink, so he went and made it for me. While he was doing that, another employee was handing off a different order. I asked, "Excuse me, do y'all not have that new drink?" She said they did, but the machine was down. I then asked if she could ring me up for some sauces. She told me to have whoever was getting my drink help me. Once the gentleman brought my drink, I asked him, "Sir, she doesn't want to ring up my sauces. Can you ring them up for me?" Suddenly, she jumped on the register. I'm like... you literally just told me to have him do it. Then she says, "Oh no, I didn't. I didn't know you were ringing up sauces." Like... WTF is wrong with y'all? I hate dumb bitches. Do your job and stop with the antics. Some people don't have the time--or the mood--to deal with unnecessary foolishness when they're simply trying to pick up their food. Hopefully, the food makes up for the experience, because so far, the customer service is already doing way too damn much. And I said f- those sauces. The fries were cold. AGAIN, had front counter not been nasty . I would have took them back in.... But once I'm rude back I don't want you touching my food... couldn't taste if they were seasoned or not. Felt like it had salt on them. They aren't good reheated. So I did not eat them. I was torn between three and four stars. I decided on the fourth star because I didn't feel it right deducting a second star just because I may have made the wrong decision on a sauce. I got here right about the time they opened. Seated right away and read a book while awaiting a friend to join. Ultimately, my friend stood me up. I was waited on at perfect intervals during my waiting period. This place is nicer inside than you'd expect just seeing it from the outside. I was pleasantly surprised by the atmosphere. I ordered the Banban and opted for the Smokey Mayo. I also ordered the white garlic fries, which I found bland, which was surprising given the amount of sauce. Fries came out first. I would have preferred the fries come out with the wings, but the wings took FOREVER. I literally finished my fries before the wings arrived. I think the waitstaff knew it took too long given the apology received when the food arrived. Wouldn't do the Smokey mayo again I just didn't like it. Borderline too spicy (listen to the on the menu) for me. The original was okay. As a matter of fact, I think I enjoyed the wings more as leftovers than I did in the restaurant. Overall: it's okay; I'm glad I tried it. I might go back if a friend wanted to try it. I found the $45 tab kinda high for just me. And to the young employee who decided to do her eye makeup while standing behind in the middle is the restaurant but behind the register, I couldn't care less, but some people might find it unprofessional. This isn't Sephora.
