My son and I visited this restaurant back when it was called Kobams. We had not been back since it was under new management. We decided to try it a couple weeks ago, but he got sick on his only day off. Bummer for him. Anyway, we went there this week to try it out. It was late Monday afternoon, and we were the only people there. The lady who took our order was very helpful, I think she thought we were a little lost, which we might've been. I had already looked at the menu at home and decided that I was gonna have the goat pepper soup. Unfortunately, they were out of it. Instead, I went ahead and got the isi ewu that my son was going to get. We also got an order of the chicken gizzards as an appetizer. They were really delicious and cooked to perfection in a spicy sauce with pieces of red pepper, green pepper, and onion. While we were eating the gizzards, the server brought us a plate with two puff puffs on it. They were scolding hot. I don't really know how to explain them other than to say they were fried bread balls. The bread was on the sweet side and they were really delicious. When the isi ewu came, it was a bowl full of goat stew. The meat was cooked to the tenderness of a pot roast. It was very rich and greasy. There was an herb used that was unlike anything I had ever tasted. I both liked it and disliked it at the same time. Don't ask me what I mean by that. Overall, the dish was absolutely delicious. We will definitely be back so that I can try the goat pepper soup. We both like t jollof rice, too, so we may get a serving of that to split with whatever else we try. If you haven't had African food, you need to get out there and try it. This is the perfect place to do it. The server was so helpful. We felt like we were in a safe zone. Sometimes, when the food is so foreign to us, we don't even know how to order or eat it. No worries here.

As soon as we entered we were welcomed with open arms, the staff were kind and the music was upbeat but not hectic. It added a nice vibe and comfortable environment. So service was a 10/10. The food was simply amazing, it was delicious full with flavor a nice spice to it and vibrancy. We ordered egusi with fufu and it was divine. Definitely going back!

We came here wanting to try Kobams Grill. Still, as we pulled up, we noticed it is no longer in business and has been replaced with a new African/Caribbean restaurant, Ubuntu Cuisine, which just had a grand opening on 4 November. Although the open sign wasn't on, I called the number on the door and found out they were open, so we decided to try this new place. As first-timers for African/Caribbean food, we were pretty pleased with everything we ordered. My picky child surprisingly enjoyed her food, even the goat she shared with my husband. Our 10-year-old enjoyed his fufu with chicken. We ordered four pounded yams (fufu), four Jamaica chicken patty (I wanted to try the beef patty, but they were out), Jollof rice, egusi soup, chicken drumsticks, and vegetable soup, and my husband ordered a side of goat, and he loved it. Everything was delicious (I did not try the goat). Cute table decor. Tons of parking. Excellent customer service and very welcoming staff. We'll be back to try other food items on the menu.

Such a lovely as delicious treat to have my favorite soup ever... Groundnut soup, peanut soup,…read morepeanut butter soup, what ever you call it, at Trices, it's called DELICIOUS!!! I called in advance to eat in house, which I find to be common at most African restaurants, as the food takes a bit longer to prepare. I arrived, washed my hands and returned to my food PIPING HOT on the table! Now that's what I call good service! When I tell you the truth, I tell you no lie! Trices can have all my money! The soup was so good I wanted to lick the bowl! Smooth, creamy, nutty, spicy, rich, everything you want in a good groundnut! And the chicken was fried to perfection! The consistency was just right, not too soft, not too hard, didn't taste look like hen, but it might have been. Two glasses of red wine, and my full plate later and I felt as if I needed to nap! Love this place, will def return on my next trip to San Antonio! Also there was a family sitting behind me, I believe they were Nigerian because the husband was saying how Sweet Sweet his food was, and the wife and kids all raved as well! So it wasn't just me, everyone was happy oooo!

I placed a to-go order totaling almost $80 and drove 30 minutes to pick it up. When I arrived, I…read morewas told they were out of fufu and that I could either wait until they returned from the store or choose a different swallow. How did they have swallow 30 minutes ago when I ordered but when I arrive it is all gone! I ordered jollof rice, egusi, two orders of efo riro, and plantains, my entire order was without protein as my family does not eat meat but my total was still close to $80. After driving another 30 minutes home, I opened my food and was extremely disappointed. The jollof rice was literally burnt, with burnt rice stuck together. The egusi and efo riro portions were less than a quarter of the container. I'm being charged $20 for soup with no protein that is a 3 spoon fulls. I immediately called the restaurant to complain. I was asked to take pictures and send them to the store, which I did. I was then apologized to and told that they would replace my order. A few days later, I called to arrange the replacement, and initially they acted as though they had no idea what I was talking about. Then I was told they would only replace the jollof rice, which is completely different from what I was told when I originally complained. I was eventually transferred to the manager, who told me that replacing the food was too expensive and that they would only replace the jollof. This was especially frustrating because I was previously told that my entire order would be replaced. The manager also told me that they had reduced their food portions. If that is the case, customers should be informed before ordering, especially when they are being charged $20 for a container that is less than a quarter full with no protein. The efo riro was also not cooked properly. I have ordered from this restaurant 2-3 times a month, so I was a regular customer. Unfortunately, the way this situation was handled has completely changed my view of the restaurant. The food was disappointing, the portions were extremely small for the prices, and the customer service and follow-through were even more disappointing. I am also disputing the charges because what I was promised when I initially complained is not being honored. I was told my order would be replaced, but now the restaurant is refusing to honor what was promised and is only offering to replace the jollof. After being a repeat customer, this experience has left me extremely disappointed. I will not be returning. I then went back to check the menu and yes looks like I was completely over charged the prices show $10 for the soup while I was charged $20, Will also file a BBB Complaint
