Hair loss after unbraiding a style done here

Watching chunks of my hair come out as I unbraid my hair done here makes me angry all over again. This is the worst hair braiding experience I had in my life. Braider was way to tight and I continuously spoke up and asked her not to braid too tight. She has the audacity to say "it's your hair" and not the fact that she was braiding too tightly, working too fast -not caring how she treated my hair, and not to mention she was even too lazy to take the rubber band off my hair to part my hair, causing damage to each strand of my hair as she parted. Looking back in retrospect, I know this was intentional. Be very careful. Some of these people that style hair are jealous of a full head of hair and want to make you bald headed. She was also complaining in French to her coworkers (which is very unprofessional) that my hair wasn't straight enough. Yet the woman standing next to her managed to take her time and part the very kinky head of hair she was working on. There was a third stylist handling a child and even though the child hair was already bone straight relaxed and blow dried straight when she arrived, I watched her jerk at that poor child head with a blow dryer again at the highest setting -unnecessary and with no regard to that child's hair follicles at such a young age. They collect a deposit and make you pay in full prior to your appointment (HUGE RED FLAG; no other salon does that). The only reason I didn't leave was this and I had to be out of town by the weekend. Please run! No style is worth your hair health. . Oooh! And the worst part. The owner of the shop said she would follow up after talking with the Braider but she never did except to call to remind me about My daughter's appointment which was originally scheduled two weeks after mine with the same deposit. Not a chance I'd let them touch her hair!

I got my hair done on Saturday at AFRO Beauty & Braids 616 Farm To Market 685 Pflugerville, Texas 78660 I got a sewing and it is coming down already and today is Thursday. I went by today and she said she couldn't help me. I guess you should get a review before you go to any place of business.

Without clearly disclosing any additional cost, the stylist added a $41 "gloss" treatment. Total cost: $96. When we were at the register and saw that her bill had almost doubled, I asked what the extra charge was. The cashier said "haircut and gloss." I turned to my mom and asked, "Did you get a gloss?" (I didn't even know what that was.) She seemed unsure so the cashier went back and asked the stylist and confirmed the charge. The cashier offered no apology, no explanation, and no option to remove the charge. I spoke to my mom later and she told me that the stylist had asked, "Do you want your hair to look shiny?" and she answered yes, having no idea she was agreeing to a $41 add-on. Had she understood it cost extra, she would have declined. My mom has very short, fine senior hair that she washes every day. A $41 gloss is completely unnecessary and the way it was presented to a 93-year-old woman feels predatory. This is the second local salon that has done virtually the same thing to her (previous one turned a $25 cut into $50 with similar undisclosed add-ons). The haircut itself was fine, but targeting elderly clients with confusing, expensive extras they neither need nor fully consent to is unacceptable. They have permanently lost both of our business. Seniors and caregivers: ALWAYS ask for the total price upfront and specifically say "no extras or products." I'd hate for another elderly person to be taken advantage of the way my mom was.

She dedicates her appointment to you , you don't feel rushed and she takes the effort to customize the hair treatment to the very extent that you like ! One of my friends told me a while back that she tried to schedule an appt with a "Jenny something" in RR, but couldn't because Jenny was booked 3 months out. In my skeptical mind, I was like she can't be that good only because I don't put that much effort into my hair and was never going to wait 3 months for an appt. Well, recently I was contacted by a Jenny T for a macaron order via IG. When I was reading the message from Jenny requesting the order, I happened to be over at that friend's house for dinner, and honestly, blurted out "does anyone know a Jenny T?" My friend immediately said, that's who I tried to make an appt with!! And guess what, I was in desparate need of a redo of my hair color. I colored my hair for the first time ever a few months ago, and it did not go well, I was disappointed and stuck with a color I never wanted! I've been procastinating the redo because I didn't have faith in anyone getting the color I wanted originally. I took a leap of faith and asked Jenny whether she can fix my hair and if by any chance, she is availabe before my wedding date in May. She scheduled me in 3 weeks later after I asked. She took care of my hair for 3.5 hrs, cleaned up the mess (I should say blended it in), got really close to what I wanted with a foilyage. Note that what I wanted couldn't be achieved on the first or second try because my hair is really dark to begin with. I wanted to go really light ashy gray. But I do love the color she did for my hair, my hair now has personality. My friends loved it when I sent them the photos. They have been asking me when I was going to redo the previous disaster. If you are going to drop this much money on your hair, do it with someone talented who cares about the quality of her/his work.
