I don't usually leave reviews, but this experience felt misleading and unprofessional from a…read morepricing standpoint. I was originally quoted one price for the repair, but later I was told the cost went up because I "needed hoses added," with no clear explanation or proof provided for why those parts were necessary. There was no documentation, no visual inspection shown, and no real breakdown to justify the added work--just a verbal claim that it was required. On top of that, the final charge ended up being more than 3x what the same OEM part is listed for at Ford, which raises serious concerns about how the pricing was marked up and presented. The issues didn't stop there. This happened on a Friday. I was told my car would be ready before 4:00 PM, but around 4:30 PM I only received a last-minute text update. I arrived at approximately 5:09 PM, and the shop was already closed. There was no one available, no way to speak to anyone, and no reliable way to get updates or access my vehicle. Because of the timing and the fact that it was already Friday evening, my car would have been stuck there all weekend until Monday, which directly affected my work schedule. I had to go out of my way to find and contact the owner myself just to avoid being left without my vehicle for multiple days. While I did get my car back, the overall experience felt inconsistent, poorly communicated, and not handled in a transparent or professional way

Excellent service with reasonable prices…read more I was driving home through Palmetto yesterday evening after work and my front brakes started to lock up. I remember dropping a coworker there about a year ago at this shop to pick up her truck and that she was happy with the experience and pricing. Even though they were just closing the shop for the day, they took the time to listen to my vehicle's issues and schedule an appt. for the next day. The next morning they called to discus the issues, repairs needed, and pricing. They had already ordered the parts the night before and promised my car before the end of the day. The car was completed as promised and they also looked at my rear brakes and parking brake per request. So impressed, I decided to leave my secondary vehicle for an inspection of the shocks/suspension. I drove the aforementioned car home with no issues today. I will repost Part 2 when the second service is complete. They appear to be an accomodating, knowledgable, and honest shop. Part 2: my jeep.was completed as promised - the next day. The mechanic was able to reproduce the issue I described of my suspension and fully corrected the problem. Again, price seemed fair for the work performed and the associate on the phone was able to clearly communicate the word required both before and after the work was comoleted. If you like more details: I've had to change mechanics due to a job location change and decided to try Jake's our based on recommendations from coworkers. I've used them for an oil change, new tires (very fairly priced compared to tire store previously used), and recently had to drop my vehicle off for axle work. I have an older vehicle so one of the parts wasn't going to be in for a few days (there was also a weekend involved). Jake's had a loaner vehicle available for me to use so my life was not disturbed. How many auto shops can boast about this type of treatment for its customers these days? The mechanic, Matt, was very detailed in his work and Leah kept me updated on everything that was going on with my vehicle. They returned my vehicle to me once it was repaired, they were satisfied it was not making any noises, and it was safe to drive. The repair bill was very fairly priced. Bottom line: I highly recommend this auto shop to my family, friends, and you.
