I really like this store because of the selection they offer. They have the beers, raw papers, incense, refrigerated drinks, and candy I like. Instead of going to many different stores searching for what I want I can find it all in one place. To be honest, if I read these reviews already here before I went I might not have gone but I have had none of the problems others have listed. The customer service is always nice and they are helpful. The receipts do say sales are final and I honestly do not expect them to know every detail about every item in the store, especially if they have not used it before. They have a lot of different items in such a small place it's easy to miss something so take your time looking. The employees are very transparent, they let me know that if you break a glass piece you can get another one at 50% off. They also warned me about the pricing on the Japanese food/ candy. It is priced very high and don't just hope you don't notice the price. They also have a cigar section with, again many options. I'd like to believe they have something for everyone because I have yet to not find what I was looking for. read more

Everyone has their own way of treating his/herself for a job well done. I like a good cigar. I also like to support downtown so this place gives me the joy of doing both. They have an enormous humidor you can walk in (usually locked) and take your time deciding which ones you will be purchasing. Of course they have the price and region on the different cigars, but for the newbies they have a description as well. went into the store on 7-15-23 to ask about a lighter that I recieved as a gift and I was told that if anything happened to it I could take it back to the store but that wasn't the case I took the lighter back to the store and the guy didn't even realize that the lighter was from the store.then when I gave him the lighter he was like do you need a refill I was unsure he then says you bought the lighter without knowing anything about it and then goes onto say you certainly didn't recieve the lighter in this condition I asked how much a new lighter was cost he then replies $60 in a snobby way lost my buisness read more

I had the most unpleasant experience today at Aficionados. I have shopped here many times before and even recommended them to others. That ended today. The employee working noticed my collar and began to grill me about my religion and my faith. He continually spoke about my religion being made up and invalid (Old Catholics who have existed since 1122 AD). He then proceeded to explain that billions of people throughout history and that are still alive today will go to hell for not believing in Jesus. Mind you, I am there to shop, not discuss religion. He was very disrespectful and a customer waiting to buy something left the store rather than wait for him to stop. My daughter was flabbergasted. She encouraged me to get a refund rather than take my purchases and leave. I have never been so disrespected before in a shop in Augusta. If you are not white, straight, cis-male, fundamentalist Christian, do not bother going to this store. read more

The worse customer service I have ever experienced, we bought a vape from them but we didn't know how to use it so we went to ask some questions about how to use it and stuff and the top wasn't closing properly, when we went the guy was so rude and started saying all of our sales are finals! We were like we aren't trying to return it we just want ask how to use the vape and he said I don't know how it works. So my question is when you are trying to sell something to your customer you know everything about the item but when something is wrong with the item you don't know anything about it hmm good customer service keep it up. Seriously, don't waste your time. The booze is all stupidly overpriced and you will be hit up by the hobos who sit on the bench outside. They now run a hookah bar in the back which is an absolute joke. The "attendants" are really lousy at their jobs. AKA you literally had to ask for everything, from getting more coals because the hookah wouldn't start to begging for your coals to be ashed when it did get going. Plus, they have this really stupid system of trying to generate tips whereby only the attendant can ash the coals. This would work if they paid attention/remotely cared about their jobs, but this isn't the case. They also don't really have a permit to serve beer/wine so, while they "allow" you to drink in the back, you have to keep your booze in a brown paper bag the whole time...SUPER ghetto. Add to the nickel-and-diming, they make you buy a bottle opener to open your beer bottles. Honestly, just wait until Thursday and go to Tribeca. This place is the perfect love child of a gas station, smoke shop, and bar. I went there during the daytime so there were only a few people inside. Everyone was friendly and we ended up playing doubles on one of the two pool tables. For drinks, it was a self serve kind of deal where you get the drink out of the freezer yourself and pay at the register. They had multiple display cases for pipes and hookahs. When I first moved to Augusta from the west coast I was really happy to find Aficionados. I had thought it would be extremely hard to find decent craft beer here so I was pleasantly surprised by their selection. Now that I've had time to shop around, I've come to really dislike this place. Their selection is decent but not as good as Toast's or Beverage Outlet's and their prices are OUTRAGEOUS! I found Dogfish Head's 75 Minute IPA here and thought I wouldn't be able to find it anywhere else in Augusta so I paid $25 for a bomber. A week ago I found the same beer at Beverage Outlet for $7.99! That's a hell of a mark up. My other complaint is that Aficionado's does not sell all their beers as singles which is a deal breaker for me now that I've found so many other places that do. Unless you're stuck downtown, don't go here. Go to Wine World, Toast, or Beverage Outlet for better selection and prices. read more

Bought a grinder from here.. 75$ . American grinder to be exact.. it broke within the first 2 months. The screen became dislodged from the factory seal.. I purchased it December 14th 2014. Called up there. Nothing they could do to help. No refund. WASTE OF MONEY on an overpriced hunk of junk. Do not pass go. Do not collect 200$. customer service sucked.
