My wife and I came to try this place out for dinner finally! This place is FIRE!!! Flavors are on point, everything tasted fresh, service was on point, and the ambiance was great. We got the lamb shank, chicken kebab, and chai latte. I'm definitely coming back. This place is bomb. I'm always looking for new places to try lamb and they nailed it over here. read more

Was traveling and visited from out of state. Plenty of space and nice staff. Menu was interesting, surprisingly no combination kabobs option, you omly get to pick a single platter option. What was nice was that they had a ground chicken or beef option which isnt available in my area (fremont, Ca) for afghan restaurants. The seasoned rice was ok, could have been better. Would recommend staff serve milaf cola instead of pepsi etc. otherwise not bad read more

Located in a strip mall with parking. The interior was surprisingly tastefully decorated. The food was fantastic! We had a lamb shank that was very tender. It was served with delicious rice with carrots and raisins and also a small portion of bean soup and salad. We might just order the rice next time since we prefer a more vegetable heavy meal. The meat dumplings were delicious. We had 2 boranis also--an eggplant dip sort of like baba and a pumpkin dip. Both were served with a large piece of fresh naan bread. We finished with "dessert". When we asked what it was the server said "milk, sugar and other stuff". It was sort of like a cross between kheer and panna cotta. FYI the water is plastic water bottles on the table at room temperature. We chose to use our own ice water in our stainless steel bottle. Our chai came toward the end of the meal. The only weakness was the service. The server was nice but inattentive. There was a language barrier and he was also helping in the kitchen. He did provide anything we asked for on request. But I don't know what the experience would have been if we were not the only people in the restaurant at the time. There was one other party that came in when we were almost done and there was take out business going on but I suspect the wait for anything would have been very long. read more

Bolani and borani (eggplant, pumpkin, potatoes)! Get all these dishes! Afghan food is one of my favorites and I love the vegetarian options here. I did try the beef kabob, but preferred the vegetarian dishes given the amount and how good it is. The length of time you wait for your food varies, so bring a friend to chit chat with just in case! Bolani: awesome amount of food and I like to dip in a mixture of the sauces that they provide (I think the green one with the yogurt sauce is my favorite combo) Borani ___: all are good! I recommend you try them all to see which is your favorite read more

You order the famous dishes like the ground beef dumplings w mint & yogurt sauce and some naan and you will be hooked like me & dreaming of this food. A local place that offers something besides the typical food. This place brings plenty of flavor and spice. If you do not like spicy order carefully & tell them. read more

The food here was very good. Would absolutely recommend. This was something I'd never personally had and something I'd never order, but at the recommendation of my friend I tried the qabili uzbeki which is a lamb shank with a very nicely cooked rice. I believe the emphasis should be on the rice, it's a rice dish with lamb shank, but when you get the dish the lamb shank is very visible and difficult for me to wrap my head around. I normally go the vegetarian route because seeing meat served in this way gets a bit of a visceral reaction from me, but nonetheless the meat was really good. The rice was also very good, the texture was great and the carrot and raisins added great flavor contrast to the taste of the rice and lamb meat. It was a very good meal that I would definitely try again. It was served with beans and a salad that were also enjoyable. The sauces at the table were also good although I couldn't exactly get a flavor profile from them. One was citrusy with a sort of sumac like taste, but the mixture was green so I wasn't sure what it was and a red one that was slightly sweet and tangy, maybe a pepper sauce? But it wasn't spicy. In either case those added some great flavor too. The meat was nice and tender. Fell off the bone with little effort. We also ordered pakaura which were at least from the look, thin slices of potato, battered and fried. I will say, that the oil may not have been hot enough when cooked, as they did seem to be quite oily and not entirely crisp, the filling was cooked thoroughly though and the flavor was good and it was served with a lot of cilantro which I love so perfect match. Service seems to be a talking point in many of the reviews posted, but I think it all moves at a comfortable pace. We got there around 1pm there were several patrons. We sat, we ordered, we ate, we chatted. Many people came in, many people left, and it looked like there were several to go orders. So to me it looks like speed of service is not an issue unless maybe the there's sometimes a larger influx of orders or customers, which can happen anywhere. Sit down, chat a bit, enjoy the music. Ambience wise, I won't say this is a restaurant you're going to for vibes or photos, but if you want good food and friendly service then you can put the phone down for a while and enjoy. The people working did seem very nice. Price point, for the food quality and volume I think was very fair. For 2 entrees and an app, for just under 60 dollars (including tip) I think is absolutely reasonable given prices in the surrounding area. Would absolutely recommend this place as good eats in the neighborhood. read more

Came here for dinner tonight. This was our first time trying afghan food. Server was very nice and helpful and ensured everything wasn't spicy/kid friendly. Quirt inside, for the most part it was our table and another. We tried the potato appetizer - which was surprisingly delicious. A little greasy and didn't need any extra sauce to enjoy. Entrees we had the lamb shank and unfortunately they were out of the chicken curry so we had the afghan bees kofta instead. Lamb shank was probably the best lamb I've ever had. Very tender and fall off the bone. Beef kofta was more filling than anticipated. There were 4 pieces but it was hearty stewed with tomatoes and lentils. We also tried the dessert, which was super light and rosey from the rose water. Very palate cleansing and a great way to end the meal! read more

I love this place. I love it enough to drive out of my way to eat here. I think that says a lot. I love the quarter chicken. I love the rice with carrots and raisins. Mmmmmmm. I also enjoy the spinach though the bread it comes with is not for me. My friends liked the bread though. read more

Exceptional food. We tried the lentil chicken and Shami kabab. Both were excellent. Service was also fantastic. We will be back.

Wow- hands down one of the best meals I've had in a long time. The flavors were incredible -- the kabobs were juicy, the Qabuli-pulao was so fragrant and tasty, and the other items like the chicken shami koobideh kebabs were out of this world. The portions are generous but still super high quality. On top of that, the staff and Tobi were so welcoming! If you haven't tried Afghan food before, this is THE place to start. Can't wait to come back! read more

Definitely do not recommend! I came here with two kids and spouse and the food took forever. It made me feel a type of way because when people who came in after us ordered their food came out fast. My son wasn't even offered any water. I will say my families food took about 45-50 minutes for two dishes and the other tables ordered and got their food within 10 minutes. My beef was super chewy and I felt like my teeth was going to fall off from attempting to bite it. I can probably bounce it off the walls. The rice was good no complaints there. So disappointing the lamb looked so good in everyone else's photo but when my husband got his it was like 3 pieces with no meat on it. I'm not sure if they are racist or something but I won't be coming here again. read more

Wonderful! My lunch - bolani, chai tea, and for dessert, the ferni, was so good I ordered to go for dinner. Really really good!

i really love the food there and service was on the top, honestly I recommend try their food (thx )!

We were not familiar with Afghanistan's cuisine prior to enjoying Afghan cuisine's food. Their food is absolutely great! Prior to their Kent location we visited their bellevue one before they closed. I would happily have their pallow rice alone as a meal and be 100% happy! If you have not tried it you should absolutely do that now! read more

Dude, this food was bomb. I went on a tuesday for lunch because i didnt want any fast food and im glad i came. Get the 'Qabili Uzbeki'

This place is absolutely amazing - I *love* this place and always get the lamb. I should probably mention that I'm 12 years old and have a 7-year-old sister, too. The place has a pretty chill feel, and the waiters are super friendly. The food might take a bit to make, but is one hundred percent worth the wait. This place doesn't have outdoor seating, though, in case that affects your opinion on the place. I absolutely recommend this place (and lamb). read more

This has been one of the best hidden spots I have ever eaten at, I have had some Afghani food in the past but nothing like this. I never liked eggplant but having it here changed my mind. We ordered Mantoo and Qabili Uzbeki, and the total came out to about $50 including tax. For two people the food/quality to price ratio was great. Taste: insanely good. Best lamb dish I've ever had. Seasoned perfectly and sliding off the bone. The rice was great quality and the mantoo was so flavorful. Price: a little on the higher end but so worth it. Portion size: the Qabili Uzbeki especially was huge. My partner and I shared the two dishes and were stuffed. Service: waiter was helpful and friendly Speed: took about 20-25 min for our food to arrive but the food was hot, fresh, and worth the wait Ambiance: this is not a fancy place, it feels very homey and cozy. It's fairly small, is well decorated and clean. Overall: we will definitely be back. The other dishes looked and smelled amazing, worth another visit read more

This place serves the best Afghan food. Out of all the ones I have tried, this one is sure the best. We tried their Chicken Kabobs - this dish is served with rice, some salad and a tangy tasting sauce (so good) AND THESE ARE THE BEST CHICKEN KABOBS EVER! The spice level is just right, not blend not too hot. The taste is so authentic and just like home made (actually better than home made haha) 12/10 We also tried their Chicken Leg-Quarter. The taste is pretty similar to Chicken Kabob's dish- so you already know, gotta be great. Medium spice level, cooked well, served with delicious tasting rice, salad and sauce. 10/10!!! Another dish on the menu we tried was their Chicken Shami-Kabobs - served with rice and sauce. They look like Seekh Kabobs. And man!!!!!!! These Shami Kabobs are THE BEST OF BEST. I don't think i have ever tried as delicious Seekh Kabobs / Shami Kabobs as what Afghan Cuisine serves. 12/10 Lastly we tried their Chopan Kabobs. 8/10 We ordered a take out and ordered 2-3 hours in advance. Order was ready timely for pickup. Efficient customer service!! read more

Came here for the first time and couldn't be more thrilled! I've never had Afghani food, but when I asked the waiter about his favorite dishes, he smiled and had no problem explaining them to me. I did see a horrible comment on here about someone stating the food took too long and their child was upset. My recommendation is take them to a restaurant that doesn't make everything from scratch. Best service I've received and the food made me feel like I was welcome in someone's home! Will be coming back here without a doubt, and the Qabuli Palaw was definitely worth the wait! read more
