We ordered Special Mutton Karahi, Khoye Wali Channy, Veal Pullao, butter naan and garlic naan, as well as some mint chutney. 35 minutes later, I was picking up my food! The friendly hostesses assured me that it was ready, and I was really pleased to see how welcoming and spacious the restaurant was, with a covered, outdoor eating area as well. I filed this away for a future visit. My husband and I enjoyed all the dishes! The lamb karahi, which we ordered at a medium spicy level, packed an initially subtle, but gradually building heat. Medium was the right level for us, as we could still enjoy the very flavorful karahi without being overwhelmed by spice. The lamb was very tender and beautifully complimented by the savory karahi sauce. This was my first time trying Khoye Wali Channy, and the menu describes it as "a taste of Lahore's rich culinary heritage." Sure enough, when I tried to look up recipes for it, they were all in Urdu!! Anyway, the praise is certainly warranted: it is a fragrant and flavorful, with a mild heat. The flavourful preparation mitigated the basic bland, starchy flavor of chickpeas, resulting in a crave-worthy and filling chickpea dish. The veal pulao was delicious, with expertly prepared, aromatic rice and beautifully tender veal. Both my husband and I are eager to try some of the other menu choices. I would like to try the Makhmali Chicken Karahi, and also to eat in the restaurant itself. Amidst some stiff competition, with many excellent Pakistani restaurants in Pickering, Butt Karahi really shines.

Regular tables, comfy casual chairs or hightop benches in little alcoves. There are TV's everywhere so I imagine this place is quite active during game nights and other events. We came early evening during Ramadan so I'm sure it was the calm before the storm (so-to-speak). We were greeted at the door and offered anywhere we wanted to sit in the restaurant. They don't have paper menus so you'll have to either scan a QR code or go to their website to look at the menu. Our server walked us through some of the dishes and explained how some of the dishes were presented. We opted for the rice dish, Yakhni Pulao and garlic naan with butter. The dish was big enough to share between two to three people and I would have only needed to order one naan as they're quite large. The veal was so tender and delicious and the rice was extremely flavourful. The dish over all had the slightest amount of heat. Nothing overwhelming, just a nice slight warmth. If you don't like spice, I'm sure it's something they could leave out. The naan was incredibly delicious and I would definitely order the garlic one again. I was really impressed with restaurant. From the staff to the layout to the food, everything was excellent and I left (before the rush that was sure to come after sundown), with a very happy belly! I will definitely be back.

I stumbled upon this place today while walking around my neighbourhood. I love Indian food so, of…read morecourse, I had to investigate. Apparently, they've only been open a couple of weeks. Walking in, the space is mostly kitchen, with no seating (under COVID conditions). The previous (burger) restaurant that occupied this space before had only two tables of two and a counter in the window. There are currently two tables of four set up under a tent in the parking spaces directly in front of the restaurant. These tables could have been cleaner. In addition to TV screens hanging from the ceiling, there is a large menu on the wall with (I'm guessing) their six most popular items. I ordered the Tandoori(?) chicken from this menu. It included two leg quarters, salad, rice, naan, and a drink for only $9.99. Not a bad deal. It took about fifteen minutes for my order to be completed. A few other customers were ahead of me, also waiting, some impatiently. Once ready, I sat at one of the tables out front. Hmmm, no napkins? Only a spoon to eat with? Where's my drink? Once I got that sorted, it was time to eat. The chicken was a tad on the dry side and the flavours a bit understated. The salad consisted of lettuce, cucumbers, and red onions. The naan was large and fresh. The rice was plentiful, nice and fluffy. I'm used to bolder flavours in Indian cuisine. Overall, it was just okay. I'm used to bold flavours but I found the chicken a bit underseasoned. While the food wasn't bad, it wasn't as good as I was anticipating. Hopefully, these issues will be sorted out in time. PS - The fly strips hanging in the restaurant were a bit of a turn off.

They make everything fresh to order, so you'd wait roughly 20 mins or so. Menu is quite simple....Everything is fried chicken! Meaning lots of calories... They have fried chicken pieces consisting of drumsticks + thighs, chicken tenders, chicken sandwiches, chicken wrap, and some sides like: curly fries, poutine, mash + gravy, coleslaw, corn... We ordered extra. Here were the orders: 4 Pcs Fried Chicken ($12.99) single order, not combo (additional price difference)... You get 2x drumsticks, 2x thighs...Size is good portion. Original Chicken Sandwich ($6.99) Combo with poutine upgrade (+$4) and you can select a can pop...This sandwich is basically chicken tenders with lettuce, pickle and mayo...My partner enjoyed this sandwich. Rowdy Chicken Sandwich single ($9.99), not combo. We picked all our chicken to be spicy...Not to be afraid b/c its not that spicy...This sandwich is fried crispy chicken breast with pickles, purple coleslaw and mayo. A slight tender juicy crispy sandwich that stands out more than popeyes or any comparable chicken chain fast food joints... Poutine Curly Fries: Think Arby style curly fries but easier on the seasoning...Its mixed with KFC like style gravy and melted cheese curds...The portion size is quite generous and filling...While we enjoyed this, it does take away the crispyness of the fries mainly b/c of the gravy... While price point with these selected meals above runs to about $43 for two is a bit steeper than other chain places, but the quality is there. We've tried quite a few chicken chain franchises to come to a conclusion that this may best them all... Tried Jollibee, Churches Chicken, Chick n Joy, Popeyes, A&W Chicken sandwiches/tenders, Chick Fil A...If ranking based off of sandwiches alone, here is our top 3 choices/opinion.... 1) Rowdy Chicken; 2) Churches Chicken; 3) Jollibee

They have their standard Hakka Chinese menu at a decent price for the portion you get. They also offer the 10% cash discount which is a nice to have. I wish I had pictures of the food because it is extensive. I appreciate their portion sizes and they don't skip. Their chili chicken was packed with onions and sauce and it also came with a white rice. I will say that there were quite a few people waiting inside for their orders so make sure you call ahead to avoid too much of a wait!

Fantastic bbq. Best in the city!…read more Wife surprised me with this for my pre-birthday. Didn't know it was Michelin recommended and I understand why. This place tastes amazing. Angus beef brisket was perfect Texas bbq. Juicy, great flavour, perfect flop Short rib is the best beef rib in the city. Juicy, unctuous, meaty. Amazing. Honey garlic wings had excellent smoke. Fantastic. Mac and cheese was delicious and cheesy. Best I've had in toronto. Maple smoked beans were ok. I wouldn't order again though. Poutine has a great gravy that had a nice depth of flavour. One of my favourite poutines. Tri tip had chimichurri on it which was a nice touch. Tougher of meat is not my preference but still had great flavour and smoke. Beef ribs were decent. But short rib better. Of note is that all the beef items are seasoned differently so you can order it all and have different flavours. One thing to know is the place is a bit of a dive. It's not pretty, but boy is it delicious. It does come off a little less clean than it could be. Cashier guy was friendly, but a bit slow. Not a big deal though.

One of my friends had been here before and recommended that we give Guyanese Chinese cuisine a try. I was game! I had no problem finding the eatery. It's in a small plaza with Grillies next door. I actually parked in front of Grillies and walked over to Caribbean Heat. The eatery was busy for a Sunday afternoon. It was a good sign. My friends and I ordered a ton of food, to the point where we had to get boxes to take home the damage that we had done... haha! We ordered these items: - Beef short ribs - Special chicken fried rice - Alex chicken with veggie fried rice - Goat curry with roti - Crabs in spicy garlic sauce - Cantonese chow mein - BBQ duck (half) - Pepper shrimp - Mixed vegetables - Hot and sour soup - Seafood soup - Sweet and sour basa - Lobster with ginger and green onion This eatery has a number of specials. We took advantage of most, except for the wings. The specials: - Pepper Shrimp - $8.99 for 15 pieces - Half-priced chicken Wings - Bucket of five beers for $29.99 - Two lobster or crabs for $34.95 - Alex chicken with veggie fried rice (lunch special) - $12.95 before tax Alex chicken is the chef's special. I don't know who Alex is. However, the dish consists of boneless chicken that's stir-fried with lots of onions and spices. It does have a bit of heat to make it a wonderful dish. The veggie fried rice that accompanied the chicken was delicious, too. I loved everything that we ate and will note some highlights: - The sweet and sour basa was excellent. The fish was flaky and boneless, and the flavours were perfect. - The lobster with ginger and green onion was fantastic. One friend was allergic to shellfish, but risked it because this dish was so good. I'm guessing that he has a mild allergy because he's fine. - The goat curry was excellent. Not gamey. Tender. It came with roti on the side that I enjoyed sopping up the sauce with it. - The BBQ duck was yummy. I haven't had duck in a long time. It was tender and I loved the skin. - The pepper shrimp were gigantic! I loved how tasty this dish was. It had lots of green bell peppers and onions that I enjoyed with the shell-on shrimp. I used the washroom a couple of times during our three-hour stay. It was clean. No complaints! We had a terrific time chatting, enjoying one another's company, and feasting on a bunch of scrumptious dishes. The menu had fried banga Mary as an appetizer. I'd like to try this dish that shares my first name. I'll be back for more when I'm in the area. (172)

Clearly, we made an excellent choice, because my entire family was so pleased when they dug into their meals! We ordered online and, like mostly everything else that I've ordered on line, it would likely be better if I ate in-house or even picked up my order. However, it was, nonetheless, excellent, satisfying, flavourful food. Here's why its worth 4 stars: My husband ordered a 2 falafel combo, and reported that it was done perfectly. The falafel balls were plump, crispy and tender, and the sauces that he ordered complemented the wrap perfectly! Next time, he said, he will order turnip. The turnip wasn't listed as pickled, but actually it is, and it really enhances the foods. My son said that his chicken shawarma was "one of the best that I"ve had in Pickering." However, he mentioned that he would have preferred the pita to be more robustly toasted. This, however, could have been a result of the wait for delivery. My duaghter had wings and fries. She loves her food extremely seasoned, and added MSG to hers, but otherwise found them to be excellent. I ordered the chicken shawarma plate. I chose tabbouleh rather than salad, and that was excellent, and very generous with the parsely. the chicken was juicy and flavorful, and the rice was beautifully cooked, with long grains that did not stick together at all. I have tried, and never succeeded, to get this same non-sticky and long grained finish on the rice, so the rice was a treat. The turnips and pickles perfectly complimented the dinner. Although the menu doesn't stipulate, the turnips are pickled and very tasty Overall, this is an excellent restaurant, and an outstanding shawarma place. It's family run, and I really enjoy supporting local restaurants. It is conveniently located at Whites and Kingston Rd.. There's plenty of parking, but not always totally close to the restaurant. We will certainly be ordering from here again!
