My pool, again NOTHING fancy.
Liz H.

Matt came over today for a quote. We need monthly pool service. Our pool is nothing fancy, actually it's the opposite, but only about 12 years old max. The price I was quoted was WAY higher than any other company I've talked with. $110 for basic service and $130 for premium (which includes the 4 x $75 filter changes and extra chemicals if needed). That is super high for my area! So what if I don't need all the chemicals one week, will you charge me less since you're going to charge me more if I need more--isn't that what a pool guy does, change the amount each week and of course it's going to vary?!? So why charge extra. With the basic service you have to pay extra but with the premium it's included?! No thanks! The last quote I got was $90, I currently pay in between the $90 and this company's basic package/$110). This company is just way too high. In response to the company's reply -- yes, I understand everything Matt said to me, thank you! For clarification - Matt said it costs more when he has to add extra chemicals and was highly pushing the $130 package as if chemicals weren't included in the basic package. So there will be an extra charge for basic chemicals, which of course will vary weekly? It's never going to be the same ph. The weather, how often we use our pool/spa the previous week and other factors play a role in the degree of chemicals needed. I've had my pool guy for over 4 years so it's not like it's an easy decision to find a new one. Obviously he did well or else he wouldn't have lasted this long.

TWO days ago this pool was dark dark green! I'm glad I called this company.

I have been through 3 pool companies in 2 years. I always thought I had the worst pool in the world because that's what other pool guys would say. Turns out they don't have a clue. Phil showed up for me when I called right away and spotted out a simple problem that no one else could spot. His knowledge and attitude are miles above everyone. He really took the time to help me and you could tell he wasn't feeding me lines. I highly recommend this guy because he is honest and a really efficient professional. It's no surprise he has 5 stars. Finally a good experience!

All their service technicians are very responsive and reliable. Geo did the first assessment. He answered all my questions and did a good job in the first pool cleaning. My regular technician is Erik, he also answered my questions and concerns. He is doing a great job in maintaining our pool. I would highly recommend their services. The monthly cost is reasonable.

Poolgenx has staffing issues, accounting issues n lacks in customer service. Their management team does not have the time to address issues or return a response to text messages. I have a very large pool that if not cleaned or treated properly will develop yellow algae. Because of Poolgenx staff issues their techs do not pay attention as they are brushing the walls of the pool to add additional chemicals if there is algae. Their rotation of personnel n lack of clients key control, have created a lot of issues. A recent tech never returned the key to my gate. It has taken PoolGenx over a month to provide a lock box for their lack of control. Currently my pool service is in limbo because the current tech does not know who will be assigned to my pool. As to accounting issues, I've had PoolGenx tell me that I was past due on my account about four times. They are set up on auto pay but even then PoolGenx argued that they never received payment. Thank goodness for B of A because they quickly called PoolGenx to confirm payment had been received n they had deposited the check. Finally, when hiring a pool service I have to make sure their staff are good with dogs. I have 2 Boston Terriers n they are very friendly n loving. One pool service company tech used the pool pole that is used to brush the pool to hit one my dogs. I have cameras throughout my property so I can monitor everything, so when I saw that I immediately fired the company. The cameras also confirm how much time techs spent cleaning my pool and how much chemicals are used. It's a shame you cannot trust some service companies to provide the service you are paying for.

Our pool has been cloudy for the past month but what was worse was the accumulating algae and now green pool we are having to deal with (see photos). I also had to tell him that our salt light was blinking even though Garrick was supposedly coming weekly to clean and maintain our pool. It had never been communicated with us that it needed to be replaced. I had told him I had been a little disappointed with the lack of communication with us. Being that I had been a client for 6 years, I had never expected such an unprofessional response. He called me crazy and obsessive instead of taking accountability for the lack of communication. Also, PLEASE TAKE THE PHOTO OF MY POOL OFF YOUR YELP ACCOUNT. You never even asked permission to take a photo of my backyard. Glad I found the Yelp account because it looks like everyone has been having the same problems. Good riddance!!

I have been texting you to stop emailing the invoice in June and July, you never responded. We just received another invoice for August. If the past invoices were error, any further ones will be considered harassment. Also, just fyi, the reason why our pool was green starting in the 3rd week under your care, even though the water was just completely refilled since you started in December, is because you put the chlorine tablet in the wrong space and never cleaned the filter basket. Our current pool guy was able to get rid of the green spots in 2 days.
