These two men showed up 30 minutes late; (and, I had a tight window that I explained a few times). They also called themselves another business name: "Brothers Movers" - and each wore those t-shirts with the numbers of "Affordable Movers." They dropped an expensive $8000 desk and it was beyond repair. No apologies - but, they agreed to haul it away the next day. They wouldn't return calls or texts. And, they did NOT pick up the desk to haul away (another business they advertise). These two young men were small, could not lift items or boxes easily, and they are not professional movers as they advertise. They could not pack the storage container like professionals either. Mario and his two helpers helped us with our move today. They came to SF on time at 9am and quickly got to work. They disassembled and reassembled furniture as needed, and we were happy with their service. Their pricing was very reasonable as well! Our white couch was a bit dirty after the move, but we were okay with that, and just cleaned it ourselves. They also didn't use bubble wrap for anything. For our TV, they just used one of those blue sturdy blankets. Our TV turned out fine, but just fyi about that! Overall, their service gets the job done at a good rate, it's definitely good value. Maybe consider a bigger company if moving a lot of expensive furniture. read more

We needed movers with in 2 weeks notice and got a great price. They provided tape and blanket to wrap all our furniture. Loaded the truck in 2 hours and everything was packed tight on the truck like a tetris game. These 2 little guys are stronger than you think. I finally got a response from here and let me tell you that Mario and his partner were just great. I had fast n quick responses and needed fast removal of my stuff. They showed up the next day. They were running a little behind from the time give but I was notified way in advance and I had no problem, the minute they were on the way I was notified with an ETA and once they were closer I was notified again. Mario and his team were efficient and very careful with our move. They were a team of 3 movers and two trucks. We downsized from a 4bd/3ba to 3bd/2.5ba and were able to get what seemed like hundreds of boxes and furniture (wrapped in blankets and shrink wrap) from the old place to the new place in 5.5 hours! Mario was really responsive when I was hiring movers. I ended up hiring two movers through Affordable Movers. The service comes with a truck, unlimited shrink wrap, and a 3 hour minimum at $120 an hour. They do not take credit card as payment so it's best if you pull cash from the atm and have cash ready as tip. I was comparing different moving services and Affordable Movers was the most economical option. They don't charge a fee to use their truck and provided labor at $120 with two movers. The minimum hours wasn't the lowest I was able to find. Overall, it was still the most economical. My movers were scheduled to come at 10, but were 30 min late. They were supposed to call upon arrival, but did not. They sent me a text. Bad idea because my text notifications are silenced. Luckily I checked my phone not too long after the text so I called and ask if they were outside and he said yes. They were facing away from my place so maybe they were confused about where the address was? Not a problem because when they were called over, they got to work fast, like really fast, like they wanted to save me money so that I won't go over the 3 hour minimum. They were working faster than me and that made me feel like I needed to pick up the speed. That's so awesome though, I really didn't want to go over the 3 hour minimum. I'm just a girl, but I have a ton of belongings and too much clothes and shoes. After a while of carrying heavy stuff down the stairs, they were working slower - totally understandable. I wish I had gotten their names, because they were the best movers I could've asked for. It's hard work and they don't take their sweet time. In the end, my move took 2.5 hours. I still had to pay $360 as a minimum. I'm happy though since it gave me 30 min back in my day. Hopefully they were able to relax for 30 min also. When I move again, I will definitely use Affordable Movers again. I recommend anyone to use them also! read more

We had the absolute worst experience with these movers. Mario was not available for the job on our moving day so he sent his 3 brothers. Mario came out to our house a couple days before the move to ensure that they could fit everything in their truck. He was confident they could. On moving day, they pulled in with their truck and I knew instantly that they would not be able to fit everything. After starting to move boxes and furniture into the truck, they started packing their small pick up truck with our stuff. I was not feeling good about the situation, but I let it slide because what else was I to do. At a certain point the pickup truck was stacked so high with our things that I told them to stop. I was not comfortable with my things being transported like that. They agreed that they would come back the next day for the rest of our things. My husband and kids started the trip with the 2 trucks (moving truck and pickup truck). I left an hour later. As I was driving, I passed the pickup truck on the side of the road. They stacked the truck too high and blew a tire! After unloading the big truck at our new house, they came back for the things in the pickup truck and brought them to our new house. As if this wasn't horrible enough, we received word the next day that they would not be able to bring the rest of our things until the following day (2 days after the original move date). They claimed they could do it for free at no charge. I was shocked! It wasn't "for free". It was finishing the job that we thought they were going to do in one day. And to top it all off, they were not careful with our furniture. One shelf was ruined/ cracked. Another side table was scuffed. They even forgot the bolts to our kitchen table and had to mail them. We are still missing a leg from our son's trampoline. The list goes on. Do not hire these people. Moving is so stressful, and this made it 10 times worse for us! read more
