ZERO STARS! NEGATIVE STARS!
I will preface this review by stating that this was my first car purchase ever, so I wasn't prepared for how terrible places like ALA could be. Since I work part-time in education, I didn't feel comfortable leasing a more expensive new car, but I needed one to help me get to work.
I went with my sister, and at first we were excited about the low cash deposit, but it turns out the rep, Manuel, ran my credit several times! I was never made aware that there was an issue, I was only told something like, "sorry, something messed up. I need to retry again." It wasn't until later that I noticed an email from one lender, and then a week later via post mail that I was denied by another.
I admit that I was overwhelmed with excitement because I thought I had found something decent and reasonable-ish cost, and it seemed like things were all working fine - including the AC. By the second week of having this car, the check engine light, oil light, the tire pressure were all glaring on my dashboard; the AC never worked beyond that first day I took it off the lot; AND by then I also realized that the gas cap was faulty, my back seat didn't have a seat belt - CUT right off, and that the 1 year warranty they offered was a piece of crap. Nor was it was it made clear to me that I would have to get into a finance agreement for the warranty period, which explained the higher cost - almost $5k more than I was expecting because it was posted on the car window!
I tried taking it back to the dealership after a trip to PepBoys (another terrible review for them as well) when I was expected to pay $600 out of pocket because the warranty company is crap, and when told I would need to pay an additional $1200 for repairs ON TOP of the $600 in fees for services already completed. AGAIN: I ONLY HAD THE CAR FOR 2 (two) WEEKS AND HAD ONLY DRIVEN ABOUT 160 miles!!! The dealer offered to pay 50% via text, so when I went to drop off the car and collect the $, I was first served with a typed letter saying that 'if I took the money, I can't talk to them about any further problems!' I was livid and refused to sign! I SHOULD HAVE TAKEN THE DARN PIECE OF PAPER AS EVIDENCE! Ugh!!
My mother was with me and convinced me to give them a chance to make things right. They were never sincere about this promise or this sale. The guy, name Sosa, kept saying "we aren't in the business of selling bad cars." Total bull! Fast forward to now having the car for less than two months and the car turned off on me while I was making a regular trip back home! Turns out the battery is crap and needs to be replaced, BUT ON TOP OF ALL THAT, once I put the battery back in, the ENGINE WONT START EVEN THOUGH THE CAR HAS POWER for radio, dashboard, lights, etc.
This car was supposed to help me make it to work and help me get another job to make ends meet. Now I'm in a terrible nightmare having to decide whether to complete all these repairs, or let the bank repo the car! I was finally in a better situation financially before all this took place and I am completely REGRET coming here.
DO NOT GO TO HERE! The other guy was right, RUN AWAY! I wish I had seen the review before I stepped on the lot! DO NOT GO HERE - YOU WILL BE ASKING FOR TROUBLE! read more
