As a reviewer, I never want to give more stars to a place than it deserves - and I'm definitely not…read moredoing it with this place. Let me tell you why: I started going to K&M Automotive because that's where my parents always went (and paid for my car to go). I can't recall if they go because their friends with Keith, the owner, or because their friends because they go, but does that really matter? The real point is I still go to this business, years and years later, because the service is fantastic. Whenever there's been a problem with my good ole' mustang, I drive it up to the little shop overflowing with cars, and someone - Keith himself or his mechanics - comes and greets me despite how busy they are. I tell them what the problem is and they take a quick look at it right then and there. If it's something minor they'll fix it while I watch, or I leave it and it's fixed in a matter of days. The longest a repair has taken was three weeks - and that's because I had the whole transmission rebuilt. Other than that it's been three days tops depending on the repair. Whoever I work with on my visits to K&M is always straight forward with me. They'll tell me exactly what's going on with my car and exactly how much it's going to cost (not just the total, but down to how much for parts and shipping and man labor.) The costs have always been reasonable and I've never, ever felt like I've been price-gouged or taken advantage of in anyway. And even if I'm strapped for cash (transmissions aren't cheap), Keith is always willing to sit down and work something out with me. Straight-up and honest, exactly how I like it. But of course every place has it's cons. K&M's facility is a little garage on the outskirts of old downtown Wylie facing a railroad track. It's not the easiest place to find for the non-local, and there's hardly any room to drive down the street, let alone pull in and out of the business. Cars in the garage, cars in the drive-in, cars in the street, over the curb. It's a pretty cramped space. If you aren't a frequent customer like me, you'd be intimidated and wonder if they even had time for your business. And this place definitely doesn't look commercial, which I can see causing hesitation in some people. Of course these cons are purely cosmetic and really have nothing to do with the quality of service I have received. And frankly they are the only "cons" I can conceivably testify to. Hence the 5-Stars. I will trust K&M with my Mustang (and any car I have after that) as long as it's possible. After all, I still drive the car I got when I was sixteen and I'm sure that says more about the quality of care than my supernaturally good driving skills. In my opinion they deserve every star I've given them.

After going round and round with both the local service dept and Honda corporate and even showing all the text messages and pictures of the error message on my dash prior to the warranty expiration date, they still would not cover the repair and wanted to charge me many hundreds of dollars to fix the issue. A friend recommend Malek at ESS and while it was a drive from where I am, I was so frustrated with the dealership service dept, I scheduled the time to meet with Malek. After doing a full diagnostic they found the issue which was based on an old lingering code that had not been cleared from the electronics. Taking my car to Malek (ESS) I learned that dealerships only want to sell parts to make money instead of actually fixing the issue for a much lower cost! My car works great now with no errors popping up and all the car's original functionality performing the way it should. I plan to bring my car back to Malek for all future maintenance and repairs! At the time, Jason assured me this vehicle had a brand new engine, and that a considerable amount of other parts and components where recently replaced, as Jason had owned this vehicle prior. At the time, this truck had just over 240000 miles and Jason assured me that if I brought the truck to him he would honor a "warranty" that would cover parts... No labor. At the time, i was being pressured from my organization to purchase a vehicle, so I had little choice but to agree. Furthermore, I made the mistake of not paying attention to the quality of tire and what kind of rims/tires the truck needed... 22s as it were are difficult because no one has them on hand... The truck ran fine for a couple of months until those tires had to be replaced... Only 3000 miles after I bought the truck. Increasingly, more and more, issues began to arise with this vehicle... Coolant lines needing to be replaced, oil pressure senders and sensors going bad... My dashboard backlight going out (they are not individual lamps, but a whole piece that needs to be replaced) and to top it off- the knock sensor in the "brand new" engine Jason claimed all began showing signs of wear and needed changing... Fast forward to today- 255,000 miles on the frame - I've sunk close to $2500 already, owing $2800 still and still needing close to 1k work... Igo to ask Jason to to honor his promise for a warranty on the knock sensor and the dash light as I feel they pertain to the year warranty... What do I get as a response?
