I visited this particular Pep Boys back in May Customer Service that was very awful. The manager there was a very rude person came up and demonstrated his poor Customer Service skills in front of his crew by asking me to get the F up out of his store and told me he was gonna keep my car because it was a hearse rental car and I brought the car there but he's gonna tell me that I did not have the authority to take the car away, but I was on the phone at the time with Hertz and they told me to take the car but really don't ever go to that Pep Boys location ever Customer Service is horrible. Spend just over $4,000 to get my car fix for a Family trip to Mexico. Before the trip I took the car back to Pep Boys due to a noise on the steering system. Ask Mr. Roy to please fix my car before my trip. Picked up my car and there was still a noise while driving the vehicle. Went back to Pep Boys and the last thing they did was to replaced the wheel hub on the driver side. Last time I talked to Mr. Roy he just told me that due to all the new parts they installed in my vehicle that I just needed to drive it for a few 1,000's miles to let the new parts adjust . While I was in Mexico I had to take the car to a shop due to a noise on the front driver side wheel. The Tech found out that the bolts for the ball joint were loose. I had the Tech do a full inspection of the steering system just to make sure there were no more loose bolts. Long story short, I will not take any of my vehicles back to Pep Boys. Mr. Roy was very helpful but the Techs need to do better. read more

Insurance company took 11 hours to tow the car so I wasn't there ended up leaving it in the wrong parking lot... Luckily pep boys got me!! They went over into the parking lot just to change both driver side tires so I didn't have to call another tow truck. Great guys and really nice and fast service. read more

Went in for a simple brake issue. My brakes were vibrating upon coming to a stop. I knew the issue was my rotors, but wasn't sure if they could be fixed. About 2.5hrs after dropping the vehicle off, I was told that there was absolutely nothing wrong with my brakes after they "test drove" it. I was actually told that there was a plastic bag wrapped around one of the rotors and that may have been the issue.......really?? You've got to be kidding me! After I was told about the "culprit"- I was adamant that they drive the car again and really test drive it. It was then, an hour later, when I was then told that the rotors would need replacement. Why did it take for me to tell them to test drive again to finally find this simple, obvious, common issue!? I then went in to talk about it. I believe at this point I was talking with the service tech when he told me that my pads were good but rotors were warped. I had no issue with this, until I asked him if they could be machined. He replied that they were warped and couldn't be worked on. To which I replied, "What was the thickness of the rotor." He then flipped through his paperwork and told me the thickness of my brake pads, which were good. I didn't ask you for that. I then asked if they even measured the rotors and he finally gave in and admitted that they did not. How do you know that the rotors are not any good or can't be machined according to specs if you never measured them!? Are we eyeballing now?! First and last time here!! Warning** this is long....I came in to PEPBoys for the first time ever after I was quoted a higher price at discount for 3 tires. There was a lady and a male at the front desk, when I arrived, the male who spoke the most , looked and found 4 tires for me at a cheaper price. I was thrilled that I was able to get more tires for a lesser price. He then proceeded to tell me that he needed to order the tires and that I should have them in the morning the next day on 7/14. The next day, I received a call from the lady who was at the front desk on the previous day, she informed me that 3 had been delivered but that 1 was delayed due to that particular tire coming from a different warehouse. She recommended that I come on Saturday 7/15 at noon and that all tires should be there. I arrived on time at noon as she advised, only to find new people at the front desk. There was a guy who seemed to not be aware of me coming at noon. He did not see me in the system. Just as he ask me about my order, the lady who had called me walked through the door. She greeted me with a hi, but never came to see about my appointment. She I guess she assumed that he had it handled. He went on to say that , they were one mechanic down and that there are several cars ahead. He ask if i was going to wait, I ask him about how long, he quoted me 2 hours. At that time, there was a very loud lady on the phone in the lobby , and after seating for an hour, I called my mom to come pick me up. They had not work on my car yet, but I thought i could leave my car and that they would call me when they were done. It was 4 hours later and I heard nothing. I decided to call, and the lady who suggested that I come in at noon, had answered the phone. She immediatly told me that the mechanic was at lunch but that he would get on my car immediatly upon his return and it should be an hour. I was never rude or unprofessional with any of them at this point. A little irritated at this point, I wondered why they had not called me, my car had been there most of the day. I patiently accepted the delay and waited until about 5pm to call back. This time, the guy who ordered my tires on Thursday, had finally arrived. AT this time, my mom was fustrated about how they answered the phone. He was not able to hear me, but then he finally was able to give me several excuses as to why they were not on my car yet. He told me he was not expecting me, although he was the one who told me when he ordered the tires, that they would be in the next day. I also told him about me going out of town, so my thought was, how could he assume i was not coming???? He said the lady was new and that she made a hiccup. After making excuses he finally told me since I didn't make an appointment that there was 60 cars that were ahead of me earlier. I became frustrated at this point, i told him that I would have been glad to come pick up my car and come back another day. I was never told that my time would be treated as a walk in. I could sense that they were lies, and I believe when they noticed me gone from the lobby, that they may have put others ahead of me because the guy who greeted me at noon, said it would be 2 hours. They eventually got to my car after that last phone call. I arrived there and the lady who had supposedly made a mistake, she gave me my keys. She walked over to me with an expression that she was sorry, but never technically said she was. I will not be going to this location again. How can being excited about the price of a tire go so wrong. I am reading previous reviews about similar appointments that were made but then had people waiting. I got a feeling this is not their first hiccup and they are more interested in selling than customer service. I will be going back to Discount tires in the future. They do give you a call if something is wrong or if there is problem. I feel this was low class customer service and do not recommend anyone to buy from this location. read more

I checked the PepBoys website and it clearly states they offer a free alignment check, but Ray the service manger side they didn't offer it. I was told they would check for worn front end parts for 19.95 and he checked the tires for wear pattern. I call the NW Hwy store and the honored the free alignment and earn my business. Will never go here again I get 4 brand new tires in April, for the first 3 weeks everything was good the tires were fine. On the 4th week I got a tire blowout and 2 of my other tires were flat as well. I was incredibly confused as to why my tire blew out after only 4 weeks, so I went back to pep boys and asked if I can get the tires replaced, they said no because I did not buy the warranty. Turns out my rims were bent and at the time I did not know, but the guy still installed my tires even though my rims were bent. They did not care, they just wanted my money !! read more

Horrible experience. They bill you for 1.5 hours of labor no matter the time involved. They replaced a thermostat and charged me over $211 for labor plus the part. The manager Clarence even said it doesn't take 1 1/2 to replace a thermostat. It's actually a very simple procedure. They also charged me 1 1/2 hour for a water pump. Plus part and was going to charge me $700 to change the two radiator hoses with labor. I called Ford and what cost me $996 at this location would have only been $560 at Town East Ford minus a $42 serpentine belt. Bottom line stay away. Katherine quoted me $200 for the pump I can buy across the street for $95 new. Not rebuilt. Later they changed it to $123. They couldn't even keep their costs the same between phone calls. read more

This review is a bit late- but necessary for kudos to this location of Pep Boys. Woke up Sunday February 21 after the snow storms to a car with a dead battery. Having never replaced it in 8 years I knew it was time. Drove to a competitor who refused to even test the battery and told me they would sell me a battery but not install due to excessive corrosion. Unsure what to do since I get all maintenance from Toyota (closed on Sunday's), I called Pep Boys on Galloway. The man who answered was Ray, short for Ray of Sunshine. He assured me they could see my vehicle same day, but was unsure if they had what was needed to replace my battery available until he saw the vehicle. Once at the location Ray looked under the hood and laughed, the corrosion was minimal and they could handle it same day. Their computer system initially pulled the wrong size battery which wouldn't fit into my car- Ray drove his personal vehicle to another Pep Boys location to get the correct battery and brought it back for install. I waited for my car about 2 hours total, as they had some other vehicles ahead of me. The customer service with a smile was a welcomed reprieve from the usual mechanic shop rhetoric I had received earlier in the morning. Would highly recommend this location for anyone who needs battery work done on a vehicle- can't speak to other services, but I will be back for sure. read more

I initially made an appointment for new brake pads but then they told me my brake pads are still in good condition but needed a new belt. Mr. Rafael accompanied me to take a look at which belt needs to be replaced. Andrew, the mechanic showed me the belt and explained how it should look and the spot where it was starting to break. I asked why the car feels like it needs new pads (me having to floor the brake). Andrew was very helpful, knowledgeable and suggested a brake flush since everything looked dry. After a few minutes Mr Rafael came to me and told me that he doesn't want me to get into an accident so they'll take care of the brake flushing. My wife drives this car and Mr Rafael and Andrew were very kind to even care about our safety while driving our vehicle. This is the first time I've been served as a customer of Pepboys with honesty and care. No bull or extra charge for something I didn't need. KATE was the woman for the job, after some less than enthusiastic help from a certain un-named employee at O'Reilly auto parts I decided to drive to Pep Boys. Kate greeted me at the door, and even when I tried to blow her off, she assured me that she was capable of finding my parts! (Didn't mean to be rude, many cashiers at pep boys don't do anything beyond the front register) She was actually a parts manager and knew her stuff! Kate alone made buying parts for my 25 yr old car so much less of a headache that I might have been swayed to abandon my tenuous loyalty to O'Reilly's. She helped me track down the correct parts and even informed me how to use their website for a 25% off promotion! If you are going to require masks, why not provide them so you don't loose paying loyal customers. The government- per the irs reimburses you back for any medical equipment directly related to preventing the spread of covid. I have been a customer for a few years, and have always had a pleasant experience. I came in with a flat tire needing a quick repair, and was refused service because I didn't have a mask. I have absolutely no problem wearing a mask inside, had I known I would be entering a buinsess leaving my home I would have brought one. However an automotive shop incounters customers that were not necessarily prepared to be there when leaving their home. Perfect example being catching a flat tire. Went right next door to one of the many competing business. This time it was a simple nail in my tire last time it was a full set of tires. Just moved into a new home in town rather then driving from the city, pep boys lost a long span of business from a free mask. read more

I had my headlight replaced in the PepBoys service department in Mesquite on Galloway on Nov. 5th . When it came time to pay the cashier stated to me another customer that the debit machine was down and we would have to pay cash. I walked across the street to the 7-11 and withdrew the $60 amount then paid for my services. I received a receipt at the time of payment. My light went out Feb 1, 2018 and I could not locate the receipt. I went back to location on Feb. 17, 2018 and explained my situation to Ray in the service department. He insisted that I would need the invoice number. . I left frustrated but decided to try another Pep Boys to fix the headlight because again it is open at a convenient time. As a consumer this was an unsatisfactory experience. The tone and attitudes of each employee I encountered resulted in me feeling unheard and unimportant. I simply wanted my headlight fixed and was not seeking free work but for the service initially done to be reviewed. I left work early and went to the Nissan dealership on Feb 22nd to get the headlight fixed. The technician stated that the person who installed the light touched the bulb. This means that auto service person, Mike, was the cause of the light being out. read more

They immediately helped me and within 15 minutes of coming in I was out the door with a great new battery and all the items they recommended I would need to successfully replace my battery all at a great price. I bought 4 new tires for my daughters 2017 Mini Cooper and had the front end alignment in December. In April she hit a pot hole and cut the right rear tire! I had also paid for the road hazard warranty! They charged me a total of 55.51 to replace this tire even though they new I bought the road hazard warranty!!! FIrst and last time customer of PepBoys because of my experience at this location. Service personnel Luis G. lied to me about service fees for battery installation. It is free installation with purchase. I purchased a very expensive battery and he tried to say it is $9.99 service charge for installation and this includes the "recycling fee" of battery. At first he did want me to see the itemized receipt. But Luis really ended up up-selling for optional service which was not even completed. There are no protectors there and there is no appearance of protective coating and treatment completed. I will not come back to this or any PepBoys. read more

I totally understand customer service is one of the hardest jobs in an industry where you have to make sales. Today, I came in seeking help with a vehicle part, sure they helped me with it but the atmosphere there wasn't very welcoming. Usually you would greet the customer and ask how they can be helped. I didn't receive any of that. To be honest, I was close to taking my services elsewhere, but instead of probably starting a confrontation, I let them complete the service and paid for it. Maybe they weren't having the greatest of days, what ever the excuse is, you have to understand that while you are working for a brand that has a great reputation, you should by all means uphold the brand's name and reputation with outstanding service and respect towards customers. read more

Been going here for years, I haven't used the shop, but staff in store is really nice and always helpful.

Well where can I start... I have been taking all my cars for oil change and minor repaires, on my last visit I took it in for the fifth time with the same complaint, everytime I took it they say it was something else, so I paid them, months went by and I had the same issue, took it in and said they replaced something else, week went by they said something else was wrong and they replaced it. Total for a a/c repair over $1,500 amd it gave out again. This time they said it was coil condenser, after replacing all the other issues, why couldnt they tell me it was the coil condenser in the first place. Well they wanted anither $1,000 dollars to replace that. I said no and took it to another place and they said coil condenser was good and it needed a a/c compresser, paid $400.00 and been working fine since. My issue with this is why didnt they just tell me this from the begining instead of replacing hoses , etc etc. I am out $1,800 dollars of work from Pep Boys and was never offered any refund for work that was not necessarie. I dont think I will ever take it back for any work nor oil changes. So long Pep Boys. read more
