This was my first time going to Affiliated Dermatology, and they made me feel very comfortable and talk me through my procedure. My nurse assistant explained everything that she was doing step-by-step before she was doing it and made sure that I felt no pain during the procedure and that was very comforting to me. My first appointment went great, told a spot was not cancerous, but they would biopsy. Turns out it was, the removal experience was awful. Dr. Brent had no bed side manner. The billing department never returns calls when trying to deal with insurance companies. Do not recommend this business to anyone, even an enemy!!!! read more

The staff here is top notch! I have had personal interactions with Nicole and Liz and these ladies are amazing. So friendly, personable, caring, thoughtful and funny. I would also like to give a compliment to the person behind the scene Sam, who gets all the biopsy's processed, cut, stained and ready for the pathologist to screen. She's amazing! I had a total of 10 skin tags on my eye lids, under my eye, and under my armpits. I knew insurance would not cover them since they were cosmetic, but I wanted to see what it would cost to have them removed. I called explained I didn't want any surprises, was paying out of pocket, asked for a price, and she could not provide one, and recommended that I come in for a consultation to get a price and then I could decide if I wanted to do it once I had the price. So I did, came in, they were quick to get me in, and the nurse asked me what I was looking to have done. I told her, asked if she knew how much it would cost, and she said no, but the doctor would be in. Then Dr. "K" came in, went straight to laying me back and removing the skin tags, and I said "wait, wait, wait, I am just here to get a price", and then the same nurse I had asked for a price and told me to wait for the doctor says, "1-15 skin tags removed is $200, and for each 10 additional is $...". How can something that is so black and white require me to get to this point before someone can tell me the cost? So I decided to go ahead (although I thought it was expensive), because I was there and wanted to get them done, and the doctor was ready to do it anyhow. The nurse said I would have to pay today, and I said it was fine. Dr K removed them, didn't say a word, and left, missed one right on my face and nurse had to have him come back in. Once I finished I sat down at the billing desk, they did all their computer stuff, and I paid the $200 I was quoted. Nothing else was ever mentioned or said by anyone along this whole adventure about anything else, and I left. A few weeks later I was shocked to get a bill for another $85 for "first time patient consultation fee". No one mentioned such a thing, it says nothing about this on the website or the paperwork I downloaded from the website to bring in "as a new patient", and now I get a bill!!! So I called and someone had to call me back. The lady basically said that the lady that I spoke to on the phone to set up the appointment had been there for many years and would never lead me to believe there was no charge...she was condescending and rude, told me that I had to pay it, and I signed some document that I would.... I asked her for a copy and she told me all I could do was write a letter to the doctor asking for him to waive it (are we in 1950?), so I used the "contact us" email on their website to send the Dr an email explaining that this was deceptive and wrong, and that I would like this taken care of....I have not heard anything from anyone, and still have $85 bill that I will not be paying! read more

I had come here to get a couple of moles checked out. The PA that was checking me was pretty nice and knowledgable. I had another appointment set up to look at another problem I was having but later I had to cancel it because something came up. When I had called to cancel, the lady on the phone seemed normal about it. But a couple of weeks later, I got a letter from them saying that I can't come back to their office because I had cancelled my last appointment. This was crazy and has never happened to me before. I wasn't too angry though because there are a hundred other better dermatologists around the area, so I just ended up going to a better one. read more

I brought my daughter here a couple of times with skin problems, and I've been here a few times for a dry skin condition and fading cream for facial imperfections. All times we have been seen by a medical asst. who's authorized to write prescriptions. I have to say, we've been to see Dr. Chambers and assoc. when they were located at Mid-Ohio Dermatology on Gettysburg Rd. in Cols. and I've been to her office on Bethel at Elite Dermatology. Every time we've gone we waited for at least 1-1/2 to 2 hours, and yeah, it seems like everybody turns up the volume in that dermatologist's office. Affiliated Dermatology is great. I waited 10 minutes at the most. The med. assts. we'll seen are professional, curtious, and they don't push you out the door, they patiently answer your questions. There's more then 1 receptionist to check you out, so you're not waiting forever to leave. I found Affiliated Dematology by reading reviews on yelp (so much cheaper then Angie's List!) and its been a great find. read more

I've never written a review for anything before, but I want to warn people to stay away from this office. I had an issue with one of their bills and my husband was working through it with our insurance company. In the meantime, I had a follow up appointment scheduled, took time away from work to go, and when I showed up was told that they had canceled my appointment, because of the billing dispute. I had not been notified, and when I spoke to Jody in their billing office, while I sat in their lobby, she was beyond rude, condescending, and unapologetic for canceling my appointment without notifying me. I had been a patient for a number of years and only continued to go there because I did like the PA that I saw, although it always felt like the place was more of a money grab, instead of an ethical doctor's office. They constantly try to up sell you on services that are not covered by insurance and try to sell you expensive products. Find yourself a real, ethical dermatologist's office that actually cares about their patients from a medical stand point and has people working in their office with some compassion and customer service. read more

Today I called at 7:30 with a severe skin reaction on my face and they actually had an appointment with Sarah at 8:00 - how great is that!? Sarah was very helpful. She asked the right questions, quickly diagnosed what was happening and sent me home with prescriptions and great direction. They're close to my house, responsive and carry Jaffe - moisturizers for my face. Also they removed warts from my daughter's foot a few years ago - fast, thorough and patient. read more

I was referred by my primary care physician in Bellefontaine to Affiliated Dermatology in Dublin, Ohio 4 years ago and have been a patient ever since. I found the process of making an appointment simple by making one one call and jumping on their website to download new patient application forms. The staff is always very professional and courteous upon arrival. I was thankful because they helped identify an atypical mole and quickly scheduled me for surgery to have it removed. I highly recommend them and will be referring them to my friends and family. read more

3 visits, nearly $600 dollars to have a small piece of skin cancer removed. its already looking to leave a bad scare and the area of surgery, my nose, tingles to the touch now, I think they damaged nerve. never again. they should tell you the cost up front like dentist do. that thing would have just stayed there. what a bunch of bull for some thing that don't spread is scaring and have lost most feeling there. read more

I have been disappointed with both my visits to Affiliated Dermatology. The first time, Dr. K gave me Botox and Juvederm but left a bruise that took quite some time to go away. The second time I received the same treatments from Dr. Scarborough but they left me with lumps along my lip line and in my naso-labial folds. I made an appointment with a new same gender dermatologist at Affiliated to assess moles I can't see on my back. I arrived early AM for the appointment but they were already behind schedule. I was escorted to the exam room and politely asked to take off my shirt. After that, an opposite gender PA (not the doctor) entered and began a skin exam without explaining why I would not be seeing the dermatologist. This deceptive and inconsiderate office behavior left me in a position of feeling ambushed as a patient. In a non-emergency medical setting, trust and protection of patient dignity should be presumed. Not one person communicated to me that my gender-concordant specialist appointment was not being honored before I traveled there, when I arrived or until after I was partially undressed. Had there been appropriate advance communication, I could have easily rescheduled. Considering this confusing incident and the anxiety it caused, my pcp helped me find another specialist for future care. read more

Stay away. This office is ONLY about the money. My son has a benign skin lesion on his face that 3 representatives at my insurance company says will be covered at 95%. However, this office will not submit it to insurance because they get more money if they charge you directly. In my opinion, this is not looking out for the patient and is extremely unethical. Who gives them the right, when my insurance says it will be covered? THis is the most absurd thing I have ever heard. Lori, the supervisor there, actually told me "we reserve the right to code it cosmetic." I always do my homework and I am thankful that I didn't gve them a dime. My insurance, Aetna, even found me another dermatologist who will cover the procedure. Affiliated Dermatology gives ALL physicians a bad name. read more
