I have a 15+ year history of seeing dermatologists because I have several skin and autoimmune conditions that manifest in the skin. I was misdiagnosed by allegedly reputable Columbus Ohio dermatologists at a well-known hospital dermatology clinic, so I stopped going there and eventually found Dr. Williams - thankfully! He correctly diagnosed the rare vasculitis that I have, which manifests in the skin. He proivided me with expert ongoing care and treatment for the past 2+ years. He listens when you describe the symptoms and asks all the right questions, to get the correct diagnosis, create the right treatment plan and prescribe the right meds! He does not treat his patients like they are just another payday - he really cares! The leukocytoclastic vasculitis is at the lowest number of lesions (6-25 instead of 200-300) and less severe exacerbations than in the several years I suffered from it. I used to suddenly get up to several hundred painful, severely itchy, inflamed lesions that last for several weeks, even getting admitted to the hospital for it because it was so severe. Since seeing Dr. Williams, when I do get the very sudden flare-ups, I have fewer lesions which means much less pain and only had one flareup severe enough for an ER visit since seeing him. Until 2022 all of my medical providers, including dermatology general practice in neurology, we're…read moreall provided through OSU Medical Center. All of the doctors that I've had the pleasure of interacting with have been knowledgeable and professional. However, this year I switched all Oh my medical needs to OhioHealth due to OSU's unethical billing practices. Starting in 2021, OSU began billing all of my visits as office off site hospital visit, resulting in each visit costing $180. If OSU would have build these besides as office visit, as they have been doing for the past 10 years, these visits would have cost me a $25 co-pay. To compound this frustration, when I made several attempts to contact OSU's billing department and the medical offices directly I was unable to speak with anyone regarding this matter. The billing department was extremely unfriendly and unwilling to hear my concerns and or provide an explanation other than all of those that's their OSU are now billed as offsite hospital visits. I contacted my insurance company, however I was told that there is nothing they can do regarding how medical providers code visits. If this has happened to you, please contact OSU and or make your concerns known. I cannot be the only one in the OSU is trying to overcharge!
