2/19/2020 Let it not be said that Downtown Dermatology isn't doing their very best to move heaven and hell in their efforts to serve and address the health care and dermatological needs of our very diverse and growing global community right here in Columbus, Ohio. I love this place! In a nutshell they are a team of very conscientious, beautiful, talented, caring, energetic, and qualified professional women! They know how to do their job and they do it so very well. And you can tell that they enjoy working together!!!! From the moment that I first made contact in 2015, I was greeted by a very welcoming receptionist and an attentive office staff that got me in quickly but also helped me with the processing of a very challenging billing and health insurance issue that I had to address as a newly classified senior citizen. I would not have made it through the complications of my insurance claim process without them. A very knowledgeable team for sure. The office locale and parking (FREE) is easy to access. Aside from having a very modern and professional office décor; the office environment and climate is one that radiates a very up- to- date, positive, welcoming and supportive energy. They care about their patients. In short; I am simply blown away at how quickly Dr. Sheri Hicks Graham was able to analyze, to diagnose (in just 20 minutes) what 3 other prior dermatology office contacts were not able to do in helping to resolve my rather complicated skin disorder and concerns. While I ( like so many others) am excited about the advancements made in cosmetic dermatology and the anti-aging industry; this arena was and is the least of my concerns. I am a patient that has an autoimmune disorder and presented with a host of rather serious medical concerns relative to complications from Rosacea, potential hair loss issues and the potentiality of Cancer skin tag concerns that had/have to be addressed. Consequently, having to deal with the potentiality of serious/life-threatening medical issues and the accompanying very public damage to my skin that I presented with was both physically and emotionally complicated, debilitating and stressful. I don't know how they dealt with me BUT they did! Knowing very little about cosmetic dermatology, I was indeed very skeptical when Dr. Sheri Hicks-Graham and Medical Aesthetician Kourtney Willis collectively prescribed "micro needling/RF" as a course of action for my severe hyper pigmentation related to Rosacea. These guys were and are amazing. What a team! The two of them together worked with me through my fears ( ups and downs) to resolve my severe skin damage . Much to my surprise and blessing! The end result is: " I CAN NOT SAY ENOUGH GOOD ABOUT THEM OR THE AWESOME OUTCOME! MY SKIN IS ABSOLUTELY RADIANT." The demarcations and dark spots are gone and no longer noticeable. The dryness and scaly skin - gone. I can function in the world without the use of makeup if so desired. The Tightness of my skin and hydration is amazing. I have a very natural lifting of my skin as they projected and told me. I am very glad that I took their advice and followed through with the treatment plan as recommended. These guys are great. Thank you Dr. Graham and Staff! You and the Downtown Dermatology team are Simply World Class Professionals. I affirm the other 5-star reviews! Indeed it is a very busy and growing organization simply because their quality of service is top notch and they do strive to provide service beyond measure. They are diligent in their efforts to get patients in and out of the waiting room while also doing their best to provide courteous, accurate and responsive individualized attention to all of their clients. I am fortunate to have Dr. Graham and Downtown Dermatologist as my dermatologist! I have thrived because of their positive energy and spirited vibrations of excitement and integrity about their work. Her medical recommendation and advice has served me well. Their teamwork and collaboration is refreshing and respected. Again, a Special thanks for taking extra time to methodically and accurately diagnose the problem and for prescribing a treatment regimen that has my skin in the best condition that I have seen in years. I simply cannot say enough good about this office! YOU HAVE ONLY JUST BEGUN! read more

It was a very quick appointment, professional, and very happy with treatment. It is nice, clean, and ready to get to. Convenient location

I have been going to Dr. Hicks-Graham for nearly 17 years. She has provided the best care and couldn't have done a better job. The office staff is amazing (shout out to Linda) and there is never a long wait. I have had several melanomas and the Dr. has done an excellent job keeping me safe and healthy. The Dr. Referred me to a surgical oncologist just for good measures and that doctor said Dr. H-G has done an excellent keeping on top of the cancers and there is nothing she could recommend at that time My life is in her hands as my dad and my uncle both passed away from undiagnosed melanoma cancer. You can't go to a better doctor than Dr Hicks-Graham read more

My first appoint with the office went really well. They sent me a link to fill out the paperwork before my appointment. I arrived the recommended 15 minutes early, and I was seen at my appointment time. Though to be fair my appointment time was at 8:30, so not a ton of time to get behind. The office was modern and nicely decorated. I ended up seeing a PA, and she was great. She inquired about my treatment history and current issues. Together we agreed on a treatment plan, and that was that. Simple and hassle free. They didn't try to sell me any cosmetic products. I ended up needing a blood test, and while they don't do that in office there was a lab downstairs, and I was able to walk in and get the blood test within 15 minutes. They promptly followed up with the results via their online messaging system. The medical assistant followed up within a few hours when I had a follow-up question. Overall, a really good experience. read more

Kourtney Willis is absolutely the best!!! I have never felt like I have someone on my side in my skincare journey and Kourtney not only makes me feel understood, she is also extremely knowledgeable, so incredibly kind, always professional, and will ultimately treat your face as if it is her own. There is nothing better than that. She truly wants the best results for you with what you are looking for. She deeply listens and focuses on your concerns. I have always felt welcome, relaxed, and have full trust in her skills. Kourtney goes above and beyond and I am so thankful! Dr. Shari Hicks-Graham is the first dermatologist I saw (out of many) that didn't rush in and out of the room in under 2 seconds. She truly takes time to listen to her patients and think "out of the box" which I appreciate. Her experienced knowledge is always evident. She caught things other dermos did not! The entire staff is extremely efficient and can get you in and out the door promptly. I am never concerned about anything taking too much time out of my day. Thank you, Downtown Dermatology! read more

I had three moles removed and all were done without any anesthetic, then cauterized to stop bleeding. One of the wounds they cauterized was approximately 1/2" wide. Another was on my scalp, at the crown of my head. I am 5 feet tall, so that's cool. Fast forward 3 weeks, I have a bald spot, a skin infection, swollen lymph nodes, and I am on antibiotics after visiting my doctor. Good news: no skin cancer. Bad news: Everything else. They should have at least used some anesthetic and stitches. I would actively discourage going here unless you really don't mind rolling the dice. read more

Dr. Shari Hicks-Graham and the staff are phenomenal! I got the Vanquish done by Kourtney and she is the best. She played music for me during my session and made me feel so comfortable. 10/10 recommend. Thank you ladies for such a great experience! read more

Easy and convenient. Scheduled an appointment (virtually) about a blemish on my scalp. Got an appointment scheduled within a month (only due to Covid-19). Scheduling was easy through Klara. In patient visit went smooth and fast. Arrived at 8:30 for my 8:45 appointment, was seen by 8:37 by a nurse then followed by Dr. Shari Hicks-Graham. Very personable and made the appointment comfortable. After procedure care was thorough and answered my questions/concerns. Really enjoyed the atmosphere and staff. First time getting any procedure as this and they made it very simple and efficient. Have a follow up appointment in two weeks of which they scheduled the same day as my departure. Highly recommend. read more

I stopped going to Downtown Dermatology a couple of years ago, but I forgot to update my review. I truly love Dr. Hicks-Graham -- she's a great doctor and treats her patients with kindness and respect. She has helped me out with many issues over the years, and I'm incredibly grateful to her. There were a few things that made me stop going though: 1. It became very sales-y. I understand that's the trend in dermatology these days, but it's just not for me. I don't want to be up-sold. 2. The wait times got a bit out of control. 3. The staff never was all that friendly or helpful. Nothing bad... just not great. Add all that to the fact that you have to schedule months in advance, and it was simply time for me to move on. read more

The off street non pay parking is nice for central columbus and the offices themselves are beautiful. Its like Ikea did the interior decorating and it really gives a calm feeling. Dr. Nixon is very knowledgeable and has a good bedside manor. Nurses are all very professional and they hit appointment times without much delay. I find them very easy to work with and get strong results. read more

I see Ms. Jana Shaffer and cannot say enough good things about her and the establishment. I was a patient of Dr. Homer Williams until he retired. The staff, the establishment, everything about this place is 5 stars (besides the slow elevator). Everyone is so kind and they actually care. Thank you all! read more

This is our family's second visit to Downtown Dermatology in the last two weeks. Must be the winter weather, but we've needed to see a dermatologist of late! I experienced several melanoma episodes mainly in the 1990s. When Dr. Williams retired, I met Dr. Hicks-Graham and have been under her care ever since. The care has been thorough and the office very well run. Furthermore, my upcoming post-retirement move to Colorado will create certain skin risks and Dr Hicks-Graham has found time in the very busy morning schedule to helpfully counsel me on those issues. Its comforting to see how many people have been there for years...like I said, a well run, professional office. Tom B. read more

I have severe acne outbreak, I had about 5 visits with this place the doctor and staff are nice, price was fair (I have insurance to cover part of it). however, I don't see any improvement al all and it gets worse with the same medication. I think the medication looks like Walmart brand. read more

I love this office. The employees are really nice. Yesterday, I had my first hydra facial and it was spectacular. My face felt so unbelievably clean and smooth. Rating: 3.5 rounding up I have been seeing Dr. Shari Hicks-Graham every 3 to 6 months for a couple of years. She has done everything from write me prescriptions to clear up eczema on my hands and mystery rash on my back to doing a biopsy and removal of a dark spot on my face. Every interaction has been great! I have zero scarring on my cheek even after a stitch required due to the biopsy. Parking is convenient and the service I've received has been worth the drive from New Albany. So why not 5 stars you ask? It is because of the 2 star experience I witnessed my husband go through this past Thursday. I accompanied him to Downtown Dermatology to have Dr. Hicks-Graham take a look at his face and neck which appeared to have spots of eczema. His appointment was scheduled for 2:00 pm. He was called back into the exam room at 2:30 and the doctor didn't see him until 3:10 when she spent less than 5 minutes with him. He was written a prescription for eczema. However, when the student accompanying Dr. Hicks-Graham inquired about other possible causes for the spots on my husband's face, she said there was a very slight chance that it could be some skin condition which causes lesions and has a long scary name (which I have already forgotten). This terrified my husband. Internet research uncovered that less than 1 in one million have this condition. Really?!?!?! You upset my husband for those odds. I also have detected via email advertisements that the focus of the practice is shifting to cosmetic procedures which, like it or not, is where the money is. I have been recommended several over the counter products during my visits. These SkinMedica products (cleansers and lotions) are terrific, but will run you $50.00 to $75.00 each. In summary, I would still recommend Downtown Dermatology if 1. you can get an early morning appointment (before they begin to fall behind), 2. you don't mind some additional people checking out your skin (there is always a student or esthetician along for the ride) and 3. you are willing to ask lots of questions to gain understanding and peace of mind. read more

My appointment was scheduled with Dr. Hicks-Graham at 2:15p and she finally came in to see me at 3:15p. However, I guess that is pretty common for any doctor's visit. I was there to discuss dark marks with her and she did not fully address my concerns. When I was ready to ask her another question, I noticed that she had already left and her assistant tried her best to answer my questions. She stayed in the room for 10 minutes. She showed no empathy and did not understand how frustrating it is for me to deal with the skin disorder that I had been dealing with. Never again. read more

Waited more than 45 minutes after scheduled appointment time with Dr. Homer Williams. Then it was a simple "here's a prescription". Oh yeah, even though we were very late and did almost nothing, that'll be $100! read more

They're usually good but I arrived 10 minutes early to my appointment and sat in the lobby for a full 40 minutes (30 minutes after my appointment start time). Some of us have jobs to get back to and they showed no regard for that. I'm so annoyed with them right now. But if you're late or have to reschedule last minute you get a fee. This is ridiculous. read more

Was kind of shocked to see the mediocre-negative reviews. Today was my first experience there. I was a little frustrated because I thought it was clear when I booked (referred by physician) that the procedure I was in for was being done today and it was not just a preliminary thing since it was cut and dry. I guess there was still some confusion but they bent over backwards to accommodate me and everyone was incredibly nice. I even ended up with two copies of my aftercare instructions and one was left with my paperwork and someone found it and called my cell to make sure I had it. Will gladly return. read more

I've never been to a dermatologist, but it was high time to go, and I turned to my trusty Yelpers to help me figure out where to go. I wish I had a 5-star experience like many others, but I certainly didn't have a bad experience. Let me explain... First, the location was as if I was going on one of my many trips to Dirty Frank's, but then I turned right on Main St and two blocks down, it's a different world - a little sketch, but fine. There were zero signs outside marking the building, except for a Nationwide sign, but I pulled behind the building my Google Maps app was chirping about, and found the parking lot they said I would. After a quick call, they confirmed I was at the right place. "It looks empty in the front?" Yep. You're in the right place. I made it to the 3rd floor waiting room, was greeted by a very friendly receptionist and waited less than 10 minutes until I was called back. I waited about 15 more until the physician's assistant who was seeing me came in. As we began discussing my visit, there was a knock, and another physician joined us, without much explanation, but I didn't care. She sat down and seemed to be taking notes. My "main" doc diagnosed me in two seconds and after explaining next steps for one more minute, started to edge out of the room while I still had questions. She passed me off to the second doc, whom after discussing a few more things, also started to leave the room before giving me a chance to clarify some things or without telling me I was good to go until I asked. It was a little strange. The actual appointment took a total of 5 minutes (not even exaggerating), which is fine, but I was expecting a full exam being a new patient, or at least to not to have them run out of the room. They referred me to an online pharmacy and said they'd be calling me, but it's two days later and I'm out of the sample they gave me for the meantime. Overall: everyone was definitely friendly and nice, the office was nicely painted and modern, and calling them efficient would be an understatement, but for my checkup, I'm hoping for a little more patience and thoroughness. read more

Dr. Homer Williams was very very nice, and he did a great job. He was so friendly and calming, but professional too. They lose one star because my appontment was at 9:45, but I was told to be there at 9:30 to do paperwork. I showed up at 9:30, but was not called into the exam room until 10:10, and Dr. Williams didn't show up until nearly 10:30. read more

I saw Dr Hicks a few times and although she is nice and beautiful, my experiences were not great. she took a cyst off my back and left a huge quarter size scar I believe because of her terrible stitch job. My other experience was I had a weird spot on my face and she just said its fine without explaining what it was or testing it. read more

My first visit went... just okay. I had never been to a dermatologist and my first appointment seemed pointless. It was more the dr asking me what I was concerned with, not her checking me out. The second visit was a follow up 6 months later. I arrived and didn't see anyone till 45 mins later. At 9am this is unacceptable. No one from staff told me there was a delay. I asked what was wrong and stated I couldn't stay much longer. They then put me in a room where I waited another 15 mins for the dr. Dr Hicks came in and didn't apologize. She asked how I was. I mentioned I never had a full body scan. She looked at my back and surging 4 mins she was gone. I was highly upset and walked out. Staff stopped me to ask about follow up. I told them I will not be back. Seems like a great place but I'm very disappointed and finding a new dermatologist. read more

Update to say that Dr. Ramona Nixon has moved elsewhere and is no longer with this practice. Hopefully I'll be able to get in with Dr. Hicks-Graham for my next appointment. Still 5 starts for the helpful staff- the other day I had a question and they were able to get me an answer from one of the doctors rather quickly over the phone. You don't get that from a ton of places. read more

I had the best experience at Downtown Dermatology. The office was clean, pleasant and very modern. Everyone in the office that I interacted with was very professional, courteous and friendly. I was taken back very promptly by my doctor, Ramona Nixon, who listened to my questions and concerns about my skin problems and skin health. Once we went over my questions she examined me over thoroughly and we discussed any moles and other problems that I brought up in question during my visit. She gave me advice and treatment options for any of the skin issues that I have. Her assistant that came into the room was also very professional and friendly. They also offer a wide array of services and products that I eagerly asked about. I specifically asked about Botox, treatments for my varicose veins and possibly dermabrasion. Dr. Nixon was able to do the Botox which produced excellent results by lifting my eye lids a little so that they don't droop; it took the fine lines from around my eyes and the more major lines from my forehead. They do not offer dermabrasion at all at this time, but Dr. Nixon was able to do a skin peel which did wonders for my skin, by further minimizing some of the fine lines, fading the brown spots on my face, making my skin tone more even and just giving me a really nice illuminating glow. As I am getting a little older, I want a doctor that is able to discuss these issues with me and find the best route for me to take. I am concerned about my skin's health and about my appearance; Dr. Nixon was able to fully provide me with a service that was complete, by treating my skin issues and providing the cosmetic treatments to improve my appearance. I am 100% satisfied with Dr. Nixon and Downtown Dermatology. I have referred multiple friends and have no problem letting anyone know what a terrific doctor she is. read more

My sister found Downtown Dermatology in her search, and saw Dr. Hicks-Graham. I went in a few months later for an appointment with Dr. Nixon, who is no longer there. Since she left, I have switched to Dr. Hicks-Graham. She is a great doctor. She, and the entire office staff, are very friendly. Yes, some of the medicines that are recommended are a bit pricey, but there are a lot of alternatives out there, you just have to ask (which I frequently do). I have recommended and will continue to recommend Downtown Dermatology to those who are looking for a great dermatologist's office. read more

Dr. Hicks-Graham has been my dermatologist for the last 5 years. She, and her staff, have really helped me through a tough time with my condition. Dr. Hicks-Graham insisted, for several visits, that I had alopecia. She gave me several very expensive shots in the scalp, despite zero improvement over several months (and several hundred dollars later). My symptoms (redness, pain, itching) are not common for alopecia, but Dr. Hicks-Graham ignored my assertion that I was not suffering from alopecia. I saw another Dermatologist who diagnosed me with sebhorreic dermatitis, and one $17 bottle of shampoo later, I was cured. Seeing Dr. Hicks-Graham was a waste of time and money. She did not listen to me when I told her I thought I might have a different condition that the one she was treating me for. read more

Dr. Homer Williams is the most unprofessional and rude doctor that I have ever come in contact with. He has no empathy for patients and does not want to hear what you have to say. He has his mind made up before you open your mouth. I went in with an allergic reaction all over my face and he would not hear anything I had to say. He just told me to use Dove Soap and a hydrocortisone cream. I wanted to know the source of the rash, like have an allergy test done, so I would not continue to use whatever it was that was irritating my skin. Turns out it was a new detergent I had bought (found out through trial and error on my own). He was convinced it was the Obagi product line I was using and would not entertain any other thought. Terrible doctor. read more

I've heard nothing but good things about Dr. Shari Hicks-Graham. I've had a procedure scheduled for months. One that involves about 48 hours of "inside activity" or "seclusion" as I like to call it! So, at 4:15 I get a call and they have to cancel the procedure for 8:00 am tomorrow b/c they don't have the medication. Brief shock, comparable to our recent election results, I listen to the assistant saying they did three of the procedures today and now don't have medication for tomorrow. They have a new rep, and he was in Kentucky so they couldn't get any more medication expedited to them. It's the holidays folks. I took the day off, and planned my schedule accordingly. As you can imagine, no other weekend really works this time of year, but I have to get it done before EOY for insurance reasons. So, what should I do? Reluctantly, suck it up and forego another weekend last minute? Call them back and ask for someone in charge and say, now what else can you do for me to make me feel somewhat better about this shi*ty experience? read more

been going to Downtown derm since Dr. Homer Williams.. he suggested i start to see Hicks gram.... this has been SEVERAL years ago, early in her career. so i've been a patient for her's for over 10 years. the office was once a nice low key derm office for several reasons. but over the years it's turned into a cosmetic place that tries to sell you everything on the shelf.. my most recent visit, 9.17.18... i see they have new space just for the cosmetics, oh wow... the customer service is the worse- they didn't have my appointment- that i set a month ago, the young Hispanic lady at the desk was not friendly, was ready to send me on my way and i did show anger, i left work for this appointment and you don't have it, "well you can see another doc" it just wasn't a pleasant visit, after i gave my consent on the ipad she basically snatched it away from me. and i heard her and Courtney discussing me... NOT professional! i think it was my last visit. i wanted a dermatology office not a cosmetic counter. not to mention my last visit a year ago, i paid out of pocket 300 bucks and SHE CHARGED ME 20 DOLLARS TO REFILL A SCRIPT. i called to ask about it and was told its a office fee... for writing a script??? Dr. Hicks Gram, it's ok to go with whats new, what popular, but don't forget us loyal patients and why we chose you for so long. :( i think you lost the customer service that is all so important. read more
