I see the previous reviews and I'm sorry historically this has not been a good experience. I'd be remiss if I didn't jump in and share my own experience. I saw Dr Carlson as a new patient during the pandemic. Precious physicians had incorrectly diagnosed me having dermatitis. I was getting worse. So off to find a different specialist. I was fortunate enough to see Dr. Carlson and his team, who correctly identified my issue and with proper treatment, I no longer am suffering. To share more tales of this epic adventure, a plastic surgeon wanted to do plastic surgery and cut, instead Dr Carlson correctly identified a scar tissue issue and I was treated right there in his office. No downtime, vs being cut open and at least 2 weeks of downtime and a nasty incision! This office for the win! I would absolutely recommend this office without reserve and I've been a faithful patient ever since. read more

The practice has many physicians but as far as I know, Dr. Julio Cruz, is the only Spanish - speaking Dermatologist in the city. The various physicians offer many varying services and accepts most insurance plans. Red headed gingers have a higher susceptibility of skin issues so I've been a Dr. Cruz patient for years and am thankful for all he's done with me. read more

I have been seeing Dr. Stephanie K. Fabbro at Buckeye Dermatology for the past year and have nothing but good things to say about her. I have struggled with acne for the past 10 years and for the first time in my life, I have clear skin. During my struggle, I have visited at least 6-7 different dermatology offices and have never had any success with anyone else. I completed a course of Accutane with Dr. Fabbro that took around 8 months. I have visited this office once a month during my 8 month course, and twice after being off of Accutane. In total, I have visited this office between 10-12 times within the last year. There has only been 1 time that I have had to wait to be seen for my appointment. When I arrive, I check in and am taken back to be seen within 10 minutes. Dr. Fabbro is always on time and very professional. She really cares about her patients and works hard for them. The front desk personnel and other employees are very friendly and helpful as well. I love this office and recommend anyone to visit Dr. Fabbro. As long as I live in Columbus, I will continue to be a patient here. read more

I went to get my face Blue light Treatment and I was at the counter and the lady took my $75.00 copay and told me to get a mask so I picked up one and laid it on the counter she then said (You gotta put it on) I then showed her my Letter from my Medical Doctor stating I cant wear masks and she ignored the letter still telling me to put on the mask I said NO I WONT WEAR THE MASK so I told her to refund my $75.00 Immediately which she couldn't get done but man she could sure run that credit card machine and TAKE it from my account within seconds so I'm filing with the BBB and state Attorney Generals office on not getting my money returned and WONT EVER BE RETURNING TO BUCKEYE DERMATOLOGY until they respect my rights and personal freedoms as an FREE AMERICAN WITH A LEGITIMATE DOCTORS EXCUSE. read more

I had my first - and last - appointment at this office in mid-April. I strongly urge fellow yelpers to explore other local dermos first. This front office is a scramble - the patient in front of me in line was filling-out a form while the receptionist was reaching around her to take my information while yelling for someone else to come back up to the desk. It's a scramble, not professional and not personal. It got worse. I have never been rushed through a medical appointment like this. The doctor did not want to stop to introduce himself to get started. It was obvious he had not read any of the information I filled out when he commented that my neck skin discoloration was hereditary - I had to tell him that it was caused by radiation treatment - he then said "oh, that was why" without asking me about my cancer or talking about the impact of the radiation on my skin. Next - without asking or explaining what he was doing or what to expect - he squirted liquid nitrogen on my two spots on my head. I never understood why until today when I got the bill for $230 for those two squirts of nitrogen and the 60 seconds he took to spray it on me. Then he ran out the door, leaving some instructions on a standard form on the table for me to take and then go find my own way out. I would bet that this staff gets together for their meetings and their primary discussion topic is dollars billed per hour and not how good of care they are providing. Go find a dermotologist interested in your well-being - they are out there - when I find a good one I will update the comments. read more

I think it's time to warn fellow Yelpers about Buckeye Dermatology. The facts: -- Spent $500+ For Worse Skin Than 1 Year Ago -- $40 Copay Per Appointment -- Scheduling Appointments Takes 3-5 weeks, Minimum -- Must Schedule An Appointment for Every Prescription Refill -- $75 Refill For Every Prescription at Pharmacy -- Doctor Went on Vacation. No Prescriptions For 2 Months -- Unfriendly Nurses/Staff When I went to refill my prescription, The Giant Eagle Pharmacists told me that I could have been prescribed a FREE, generic form of the medication all along. The Pharmacists told me I should simply call Buckeye Dermatology and request it. I called Buckeye Dermatology and waited a week, then called again, and waited another week. The nurses never called me back, and sounded angry while I was on the phone with them, as if my attempt to save money was a burden for them. On the third phone call, I have finally got to the bottom line. At this point, in order to remain a patient at Buckeye Dermatology, I will have to wait for a $30 fine in the mail, for missing an appointment once. Once I receive the bill, pay it, and it's accepted by the collections agency, I'll have to wait 3-5 weeks for a new appointment at Buckeye Dermatology, and pay the $40 copay. Then, I'll have to petition my doctor for a generic form of a medication that I could have been prescribed all along. I'm filling this out because I saw the score was much lower than it should be when pulling up the address for my insurance enrollment. It's not a fair assessment of their work. I couldn't disagree with 'Joey H.' more. Dr. Shen initially diagnosed my skin cancer, and was friendly and effective. After the biopsy, I had Mohs (spelling?) surgery scheduled with Dr. Cruz. Dr. Cruz did a great job. He did a great job during the surgery, limited the scarring as best as he could and then gave me a great suggestion to reduce the visibility. My cancer was on my forehead in a visible area, so he and one of the nurses recommended that I use Mederma 3x a day for 2-3 months once the site healed. I did exactly that and now you can't easily see my surgical scar. When I tell people about it, they have to look for a bit to notice the area. I've been going back for annual checkups each year since my surgery and love the place. The Nurses and Doctors there are top-notch and I plan on going for as long as I live in Columbus. As mentioned, MAJOR shout out to Dr. Cruz. These guys rock!!!! read more

The service was totally fine! I can't remember what doctor I saw, but the initial appointment went great and then the follow up was just fine. The issue I've had is their billing is not good. Took forever to finally get a payment made on my bill only to have them send it to some collection agency or something. Been a bit of a nightmare dealing with them after the service. read more

The doctor was okay. But when I had questions about a prescription, I was transferred to the manager, Alisha, and she did not handle my concerns well. She insisted that she and the doctor were right and I was wrong. End. Of. Discussion. Click. I really just wanted her to listen to my concerns, specifically about my phone call not being returned and questions about prescription not be addressed. But this was not to be. Alisha, Alicia, whatever..... refused to listen to my concerns. Oh well. Plenty of dermatology clinics around. Just wish this one wasn't such a waste of my time. read more

My first visit I waited 60 minutes to see Dr Hearn. He told me it wad because I was s new patient. I arrived early and all forms were completed and turned in before the time of my appointment. Today I waited 50 minutes just to have stitches removed by his nurse. My recommendation is to find a Doctor who cares about their patients. read more

It is such a shame that Dr Carlson moved to this practice. He is such a good doctor but this practice is terrible. I had an appointment and when I got there they advised me that no doctors were in and that they tried to reach me by calling an old number which when I scheduled she asked for my number and I gave it to her. Dr. Fabbro and all of the staff at the Grove City location are absolutely wonderful. Each member of the team I interacted with took the time to answer my questions and make me comfortable regarding the care I received. HOWEVER, I was shocked and disappointed by the lack of care and professionalism by the billing department in Dublin. Melissa was rude during every discussion and even gave me information that was incorrect. I chose Buckeye Dermatolgy as an in-network provider for my primary coverage. Melissa told me there was no way for them submit to my secondary because they aren't credentialed with them. This is NOT correct; a claim may be submitted, at the provider's discretion, as a courtesy. My secondary coverage even reached out to the billing department, spoke with Melissa, and was told they would not file a claim because the balance was zero. Basically, they have their money (because I paid the balance of each visit) so it doesn't matter that I would be reimbursed the hundreds of dollars paid out of pocket, just by filing a simple claim. Again, Dr. Fabbro and the staff at the Grove City location..... wonderful! read more

I had been going to see Dr. Cruz for at least the last 7 years and trusted him. The main purpose of the visits has to do with psoriasis on my scalp. I started to develop redness at my hairline in 2009 and he said I had dermatitis. I trusted him and took whatever he prescribed me, typically ranging from Locoid lotion to Clobex solution; Group IV to Group I steroids. These range from 200 to 600 times more potent than the 1% hydrocortisone which you can purchase over the counter at any pharmacy. You may ask how do I know this? After my face kept getting worse and my trust in Dr. Cruz waned, I did my own research and figured out the problem. I used to spend between 5 to 10 hours a week trying to learn what the problem was. Eventually, I figured it out! I told Dr. Cruz I had steroid induced rosacea and it was because of the prescriptions he had given me and the initial redness was from the beginning of steroid induced rosacea at my hair line from using Clobex shampoo for years. I quit going to Buckeye Dermatology in January. Dr. Cruz told me to stop taking everything and within 36 hours my face turned into something unreal. My entire forehead was pure acne, the worse acne I had ever seen. The doctor I am currently seeing has over 25 years of experience and when she diagnosed me she immediately said it was steroid induced rosacea. Today, I am approaching 5 months of recovery and looking at another 9 to 12 months; I hope!!! I am a State of Ohio employee and from November 2009 to January 2012 I saw Dr. Cruz every 2 to 4 weeks; many times he would prescribe me something different. It cost me approximately $2200 in prescriptions and another $300 in co-pays. I told you I am a State of Ohio employee, because the public has to pay too. The insurance cost for the time period was over $10,000; I do not know about the office visits. My recovery regimen is strictly antibiotics. I take 150mg of Doxycycline every day and antibiotic cream. The pills cost $728 for a 30 day supply; $50 if insurance. So this whole thing will cost the State of Ohio $30,000 and will cost me about 10% of that. Unfortunately, I may not fully recover and my current doctor is suggesting that I may need laser surgery as well. That would cost between $300 and $500 a visit and would probably take up to 10 visits. So I might be down $8000. But the worst thing of it all is not the constant burning of my forehead or even the cost; it is the social impact on my life. My woman of 6 years left me and didn't even tell me why; I already knew. Additionally, my professional life is in the sewer. I have gotten harassed at work and excluded from meetings and many friendships. I can't leave and get another job because even the weakest stress turns my steroid rosacea into an inferno. So my suggestion to you is, if you are not a Spanish speaker and you don't have any dermatological problems worse than poison ivy, then stay away from Dr. Cruz. And if you don't believe me, go to Buckeye Dermotology and take a look at the special parking spot right next to the front door. It is not a handicapped spot, but a spot for Dr. Cruz's Nissan GTR or Audi A5; depends on the weather conditions. He cares about himself and writing prescriptions for kickbacks. The front staff at the Grove City location are beyond rude. The only nice one is Shannon!!!! Then the staff that greets you and brings you back to room barely greets you or makes eye contact with you. The doctors seem fine work kinda fast and explain things too quickly but what doctor doesn't now a days. I recommend finding a place where the staff where names tags and owns their performAnce, greets you when you arrive and smiles. Snarling and snapping isn't appropriate. read more

I have been very pleased with Buckeye Dermatology. I had skin cancer on my face. It took some time and exacting patience for the dr. to remove it as it was right on the inside corner of my eye. The staff was friendly and kind and helpful . It took all day to get all of the cancer and the office even served me lunch. She ( Dr. Ravitskyi) had to do reconstruction on my face and took her time . She called me at home later that day to make sure I was doing ok. ! I am also able to make payments on the part of the fees that were not covered by my insurance. Now I have had a few follow ups and everything looks good. She ( Dr.Ravitskyi) did an excellent job on reconstruction. Jump to a new year and my 6 month scheduled check up. I canceled due to the fact I am still paying on the bill and didn't have the money to go . My new insurance deductible is $5600.00...go figure, and so I know they will not cover any of it. Buckeye Dermatology called me back after I had canceled. Told me with my history I really did need to stay on top of these appointments. So I made another appointment. Canceled it again for same reason. This time I got a very caring yet stern letter in the mail telling me that with my history of cancer I really need to get in there. I called and they agreed to piggyback the appointment cost on to the bill I am paying. Said it did not matter to them could I pay at time of service. Told me to set it up with billing. Now I ask you...how many drs. office go to this link and care to this depth? I haven't ran across many if any! AND they have been taking excellent care of my grown daughter for a lot longer than I've been going to them. It was my daughter who not only recommended them but insisted I see them because she was sure it was cancer. I wish to thank the doctors, staff and my daughter. I definitely recommend this office, to anyone who needs a good caring dr. backed by friendly helpful staff. read more
