After my temporary project ended with a certain information management services company, I immediately started looking for a new job. I spent endless days and nights creating targeted resumes and cover letters to send to different companies. I received a few invitations for interviews, and of course I went to each of them. Each time that the interview ended, they'd say they loved me and they're going to hire me. There's even this one company, which I will not name here, that said they're going to hire me a week after the interview and they're just preparing the things I'm going to be working on. The boss of the company even told me how much they'd be paying me and I already agreed. This boss personally told me that he'd call me so I can start soon. Next week came, no call, so I called them to see what's going on. The lady who answered the phone said that the boss was out and I should just call again after a few days. Alright, I did as she said. I waited for a couple of days and called again, only to be told that they already gave the position to someone else. What?! I never even got to speak to the boss again. I experienced a few interviews like that. They would get your hopes up, they would tell you to get ready to start working, only for them to suddenly change their minds at the very last minute. I do understand that companies are not "charities", but at least they need to honor what they say. If they say they'll hire you, then they better do, otherwise they're messing up your plans because if a company says "Hey, we're hiring you, you'll start next week!", of course the natural reaction for you is to prepare for the job and drop everything else, like applying for other jobs. Disappointment really blasted me full on because of my negative experiences with these different companies. I knew being stopped and crushed by these disappointments would not solve my problems at all, so I just continued applying for different jobs on sites like Careebuilders, Monster, and even Craigslist. I'm not sure which site I found it on, but I found an Aerotek posting about a Data Entry position, something that I was definitely experienced with (I've been touch typing way before I was a teenager), especially since most of my previous jobs always involved data entry using computers. Add the fact that one of my favorite genres of computer games are typing games, just like "Typing of The Dead" (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zjka9BnCnJ0) where you kill zombies by typing words attached to the flesh eating corpses, then you'll know just how much accustomed I am to typing all day, all night long. Of course I applied for this very suitable position. One fine morning, I was woken up by a call from a man named Shane Johnson. He's a recruiter from Aerotek. Of course, since I've been sending a lot of resumes and cover letters to many companies for all sorts of positions, I wasn't sure which job this call was about. Fortunately he told me that it was for the Data Entry position and then he asked me to take some online exams, details of which he sent to my e-mail. I realized that my computer was still on, I guess I must have lost consciousness the night before while sending out resumes and cover letters. I was able to quickly find Shane's e-mail and I started taking the online exam while in an almost half-asleep state with a little nervous feeling. After taking the exam, I called Shane. He was really very supportive and encouraging! You know, if there's one thing a man like me needed during my worst depressing moments, it's words of encouragement. Shane made me feel as if I were the best. He somehow re-energized me and got me back to a positive mindset. He made me believe once again in what I can do. You know how too much rejection can make you doubt yourself and your capabilities? That really happened to me. It can really wreck you psychologically and emotionally, but this man named Shane Johnson simply shared this positive energy with me which re-ignited my self-confidence. He asked me to meet him the same day after I finished the online exam, and of course I agreed! When I arrived at the Aerotek building, I was met by the really pleasant Shane Johnson. He's just so full of energy and positivity that you can't help but also feel good about yourself! We talked about what the company needed for me to do, where it was, and all sorts of important information. Shane was really nice, friendly, warm, and very reassuring. Everything I needed to know, he already prepared in advance. Shane got me hired right away and now I work for a really great and big company where I'm very happy! Shane Johnson DESERVES recognition for being a good person and an effective recruiter! I was hired by Evan Johnston to work at Advanced Financial, in Carlsbad and was told my salary would be $24 hourly. At my in-person Interview with Carla Litton, at Advanced Financial, she asked me, what they told me my salary would be.  I reviewed my notes from my phone call with Evan and told her what he told me, $24.00, hourly. Carla Litton told me, it's actually $21 hourly- I asked Carla, "Is this still a work from home position?"  She assured me it was, after completing my 2-week training, I would have to be on the collection floor for 30 days and then I could work from home.  Then she turned around and pointed out to the empty desks and told me, "See, look, we have a lot of people working from home."  I asked her, "Why are those few working here?"  She told me, "Those are the ones who have had some challenges working from home." On day 3 - Training with Delbert Reed, he stated, "This is NOT a work from home job." He suggested I stay late that day to discuss it with Carla, and so I did.  Carla told me, "The boss wants us in now, we won't be allowed to work from home anymore."  I asked her, "Are there usually this many inconsistencies, or miscommunications, when hiring through Aerotek, because it seems like the most important aspects to consider, when finding a job is, 1) Salary & 2) Location."  Carla just brushed over my question by offering me more of a demotion, from Account Representative, to Customer Service, and then that way I could work from home after training, but then the pay drops even more, to $17.00, hourly. At that point, I wanted to be done there, but I planned to hang in there until I found another place to work. We, (myself and two other girls) sat through training with one of Advanced Financial's drunk employees. I mean, this lady was plastered and even spilled her alcohol on the training room table, from her "water bottle," then she stepped out to take a call, but instead took a 2-hour nap and never returned to the training room. The next day, our Trainer, Delbert Reed told us all about the drunk woman's issues and why they had to let her go. Mind you, this is Day-4 with Advanced Financial. Carla, Delbert and Danine, all Managers at Advanced Financial, spent at least half an hour complaining about some guy Aerotek hired, who used to work with them, (Advanced Financial,) some guy by the name of Aaron, or something like that - Who knows, it could have been Evan, or Ervin, or something like that.  Advanced Financial stated, we had to fire him for being a no call/no show and now he's working over there for Aerotek. On day 4, I was terminated for stepping out of training for an emergency call, because my son was hit by a car, off his skateboard. I even told Delbert after training, I had to take an emergency call - I apologized and I thanked him for his understanding.  Delbert said, he understands, life happens. That day, Evan Johnston called me to tell me Advanced Financial let me go, for taking that call. He asked me to email him my final hours, so I did, for 2 days of pay, June 15 & 16, 2021, at $21.00 10.25 hours, total and I HAVE YET TO RECEIVE MY FINAL PAY.  Today is June 22, 2021. It has been over a week and Evan Johnston, with Aerotek, has yet to submit my final pay: California State law governs, an employer must pay final wages to an employee who separates from employment, either voluntarily or involuntarily. I sent Aerotek my FINAL DEMAND for my final pay.  My next step is to reach out to my Attorney, to seek civil and criminal penalties for failure to comply with California Labor Laws, but also to collect my penalty interest payments, which California calculates at the employee's daily rate of pay and is calculated by multiplying the daily wage by the number of days that the employee was not paid. I have not been paid for the two (2) final days I actually worked, which were Tuesday & Wednesday, June 15 & 16, 2021 PLUS the four (4 ) days Aerotek has let pass by, without giving me my final pay.  The four (4) additional days are: Th, Fri & Mon, Tues, June 17, 18, 21 & 22, 2021. $21.00 at 5 hours per day, for two (2) days worked:  6/15 & 16., PLUS 6/17, 18, 21 & 22 = 6 Days total x $21.00 hourly, at 5- hour days: So far, Aerotek is required to pay me $630.00, provided they pay me no later than 6/23/2021. DO NOT WORK FOR THIS SHADY, LOW CLASS, DECEPTIVE, MONEY DRIVEN COMPANY.  It's no wonder they are doing the hiring for a sneaky, deceptive, collection agency, called Advanced Financial, which is under the umbrella of Grand Pacific Resorts. YES!!! That crooked, suffering, grimy, timeshare agency.  They're still at it, trying to sell timeshares, as if anyone needs one in this century. smh Questions, or concerns, I am here to help anyone from jumping into the coals of these two companys. I would like to say that this is my first time ever using an agency which works with people looking for a job in the medical field. I was recruited by a wonderful lady named Amie and in order for me to be hired in her medical office she referred me to this agency Aerotek and that I was going to be contacted by a recruiter name Gina Fling. The following day I spoke with Gina who is very professional with a positive attitude with an uplifting spirit that assured you she would be with you throughout the process from orientation all the way through the first day of employment with your new employer and even if I had ANY questions she would be there to answer them. I wanted to thank Aerotek for the opportunity of employment, and this I felt was the best way to do that. I became a machinist and my goal was to enter the aerospace industry. I thought going into an industry/career would rid me of agencies (I used to do a lot of physical labor through agencies) and looked forward to not using their services anymore. When I started looking for work I found most entry level machinist jobs were held by agencies to my dismay(many of them with Volt which I've had horrible experience and service and some others). Enter Aerotek and their Santa Ana office and I found an agency that was far more professional and proactive in their goal to help their people than any that I have tried before. I came to Aerotek 4 months ago. With high hope of looking for a hospital job. I filled out an application on line and within 3 weeks I was notified by a recruiter name Sil. He was very nice and very thorough. He explained everything about what he does and what he can do to help me get a job at a hospital. Within one week of meeting with him he set up an interview with me and the company. I am very pleased and satisfied with his willingness to work hard and get me started right a way. I can't believe the whole process went so fast. And by the next week I landed a temp position at a hospital. The contract is 6 month. Bait-n-Switch/Catfish Establishment! After filling out an application online for "No Experience Machine Operator" & not hearing anything back, I called this office. I spoke to Ashley Roskelly who said that this position requires experience. She said that she would check with her "Manager" to confirm. She asked me to send her my resume. I had to text her to get an answer. She said that her "Manager" confirmed it. She then threw out that they have other positions for a company called Medtronic in Lake Forest, but for less pay. I asked her for the job title/link...never got it! I also left 2 messages for someone named Louise Castenada who handles "Medtronic"... no response. I searched for this position on both their site & Medtronic...nothing listed!. This office is just collecting info & messing around with people. Don't trust the 3.7 rating on Indeed! read more

Never did I think that I would consider being a part of an employment agency.
