This review is for the Express Employment Pros Anaheim South location. I was initially unaware that this company was a staffing agency. When I applied for the position in question, I thought it was through the actual hiring company not an agency. The office was nice, and the staff was friendly, so I had a good first impression; albeit I never go through staffing companies. The position I had applied for was listed as part-time, but upon my interview it was disclosed that it was a temporary assignment. I was told that after the assignment the agency could place me in a more permanent position, which is what I wanted (and the main reason I applied), so I decided to go through with the lengthy onboarding process. It has been over a month and the agency has failed to place me anywhere. They might be able to find some people employment faster than others, but they should still maintain integrity with people that are waiting for a job. My overall experience was disappointing. I think the hardest part is having to rely on a third party to find something for you. read more

PLEASE READ!!!! Well the review below me sure looks and sounds like an Express Representative. I don't know about everyone else who was/is thinking of attempting to be employed by Express Staffing, but I seriously recommend GO ELSEWHERE. I have every damn good reason you can think of to be this upset. Story starts like this: I was out of a job for 8 months. When I was asked to come in for a interview BY THE COMPANY (I now work for) at the end of my interview my employer says to me "I'm not gonna lie I wanna hire you!" I replied "Awesome let's do it." He then says to me "You have 2 options get hired through the company or go through Express Staffing. If you go through the company you'll start in about 2 or 3 weeks, if you go through Express you'll start immediately. What would you like to do?" I replied "Well, because I have no experience in this field I'll go through Express for now. While my paperwork through the company is in the process" PROBABLY THEE BIGGEST MISTAKE I'VE EVER MADE! I went to Express thinking this is going to be easy I've gone though a couple Staffing Agencies this year already with no problem. I get to Express and stand at the front desk for a bit (not to long) a woman comes from the back and says "Do you have an appointment?" (I thought to myself why would I need an appointment for a Staffing Agency...) I replied "No. I don't." She replies "Ok. Well walk-in applications are only accepted on this day. *she hands me a card* Thanks for stopping by" (I was a little shocked that she had said this) I quickly replied "I was sent by (Managers Name Here)." She then says "Oh, ok here fill out this application and we'll get back to you tomorrow" A week passes. No contact from Express. I contact with my employer. He says he'll look into it. I contact Express a woman tells me they're waiting on a background check I say ok. I have a criminal background. That is long but haven't been in the system for roughly about 8 years since that time I've worked straight through no breaks. Express contacts me 3 weeks after my application was submitted. Sara Marticorena says to me "Hi, Travis this is Sara with Express we received your background, and I have to say we're NOT going to be able to place you at (Company Here). I recommend you get your background expunged or sealed for future placement. Until then good luck Travis with your search for employment. *hangs up the phone* I literally laughed so hard it was crazy. I relayed the message Sara told me to my brother who works at the same company I do and he laughed right along with me. LOL The way I saw it was the hell with Express I'll do it myself. I went to my employer and told him the story and he laughed as well it was hilarious that A STAFFING AGENCY would NOT employ a man with 2 misdemeanors from 8 years ago but a Billion dollar company would. LOL so my manager contacts Express (mind you I'm sitting right in front of him) and says to Express I want Travis employed with (Company Here). I got a call the same day from Sara. Lol she says "Hi Travis this is Express. (Company Here) would like you to start tomorrow." I replied "No Shit..." She says "Yes. Don't forget your steel toe boots. Do you have any questions for me?" I replied "Absolutely NOT. I think you guys are a horrible Staffing Agency and I don't expect any of my questions to be answered by you. The only thing I want from you guys is a paycheck other than that don't ever contact me again." *hangs up* The thing is I know what's on my background and there's no reason for me to hide it I accept my past and if you seriously get to know me you'd understand that I'm no longer that same person my employer saw that but A LAME STAFFING AGENCY couldn't? Hmmmm I wonder why....maybe cuz they're lazy and uninvolved I don't know but it really makes me think how is this company even real...they only take walk in apps on such and such days and if you don't have an appointment GO AWAY is the vibe that I got. I was sitting in an EMPTY LOBBY filling out the app at Express looking into a window with 4 desks behind it a man and 2 women the man was on his phone texting or email or playing a game I don't know. Both the women looked hard at work faces into their monitors and typing BUT every single desk was empty. As I'm filling out the app at Express the receptionist sent 3 people away because they didn't take walkins on that day...WOW really? I Was promised a job with a decent pay rate after I passed my drug test and they had me waiting for this supposedly job for over a week for nothing. This place is very unprofessional. They interviewed my brother over the phone, emailed him all of the paperwork to fill out and told him to go in the next day for the drug test. He filled out his paper work, emailed it back and went to his appointment the next day, which he thought was only to take the drug test and it would be a done deal. Well, to his surprise they interviewed him again and was asked the same questions that he had been asked over the phone. Oh, and he didn't get sent to get his drug test. It's been almost a month and supposedly they were waiting to hear back from the company. I applied for a position on Craigslist and got a call from Express Employment Professionals on 5/29/19. They explained to me that they were an employment agency (even though on Craigslist they don't say that) but since Maribel was so professional I decided to speak with her and interview over the phone. Maribel set me up the very next day for an in person interview with an employment specialist. They wanted me in immediately because they felt I was a great candidate for a position that needed to be filled by the following Monday. I went in on Thursday, 5/30/19 in the morning and was interview by Sally. The interview was pretty fast nothing too complicated but I was immediately asked for all my personal information even though I wasn't given the temp position yet. Sally stated that she was going to get me in the same day to meet with the employer and in the meantime I was to take the drug test. Immediately after I left their office I went to take the drug test and waited on Sally's call she said she would call me in a few hours. She didn't call me I had to call her and according to her the employer hadn't gotten back to her to see when I can go in. I waited and waited and finally in the late afternoon Sally called me saying she never got a hold of the employer but that she'd get back to me the next day. On Friday, 5/31/19 I did get a call from Sally but just to tell me that the job had been taken by someone else! I understood and trusted that she would find me something else soon. On 6/25/19 I emailed Sally because I had not heard anything from her regarding any job opportunities almost an entire month later! I immediately received an auto reply that she was out of the office and wouldn't be back until 7/1/19. You'd think that if you were going to be gone from 6/18/19-7/1/19 you'd leave someone in charge to help your candidates or at least have the decency to advise people that you would be out for so long. Today, 7/12/19 she had the nerve to send me a job opening that they have available. It has been over 6 weeks since I interviewed with them and they're barely now remembering they have candidates needing jobs?! No thanks Sally I already found a job on my own. These people are supposed to have connections with employers yet somehow I was able to find myself a job before they ever could.
