Aegea has the best pizza and gyro meat in the area! I'm a long time customer and I love their gyros since day 1. They have a million options for every item and tons of specials to use on their website. So worth it! Everything is always delicious!! read more

I got the lamb souvlaki platter with rice and honestly it was just alright. It was not the best Greek food I have ever had, but it also was not the worst. Some of the pieces of lamb that were on my platter were burned and just did not taste that great. The pieces that were not burned however tasted fine. The rice and Greek salad that came with the platter were also just alright. The rice was a little bland and the Greek salad would have been better if it was on the side rather than mixed in with the rice and lamb. I ordered on the phone and picked it up which was quick and easy which is always nice. However, for the price this food is just not worth it. It is a little expensive and for the price the food is just not worth it. The food at this place is just mediocre and I probably will not be going back because of the price and quality of the food. read more

Very disappointed with my $40 order. I asked a small tzatziki sauce to dip the bread which comes with the Greek salad. Management said sauce is an extra $1 charge. Seems very petty and poor business practice to charge for this. I will not go back instead I'll choose Gyro Corner or WildFig which are both generous with sauces/dips. Management's attitude is take it or leave it. My business doesn't seem appreciated so why hand over my hard earned money to this establishment. read more

The gyros and falafel sandwiches were great. (The falafels had a bit of hot spice to them.) The salad was fresh. We asked for a few modifications and they were all honored. We'll be ordering from them again. read more

THE WORST ! This is my 3rd time ordering from this place and I LIVE rite around the corner. I order something to be delivered and they calling to ask me if I tipped the guy ? HOW TACKY !!! Also...who serves French fires in same dish as soggy wet salad !!! So disappointed with the food choices on this block. Scum read more

I love their gyros and their spring salad is a MUST TRY! My friends and I used to hang out here for a slice before the whole pandemic almost weekly but i'm glad their doors are still opened and takeout is always hot and ready! read more

I placed an order for a Greek burger deluxe this evening. I have always supported Aeggea as my family and I are frequent customers of this restaurant. Tonight we were very disappointed. When I bit into my burger I noticed the meat was very red and looked rare. I do not eat rare meat and was nervous that the burger was not cooked enough as I was afraid of getting sick. When I called Aeggea to let them know, the manager came on the phone informing me that all burgers are cooked medium unless stated otherwise, that this burger was cooked medium, stated that these are good quality burgers, and asked me what I wanted him to do. His tone and response lacked empathy, seemed testy, and unapologetic. Instead of doing right by his customer, he chose to lose one which is a shame since we have been ordering for years. We appreciate fast service which Aeggea has always provided but we felt that this order was rushed. From the time that we placed our orders, the food was cooked, and delivered to us, was all within 15 minutes (which I believe is what resulted in the burger not being fully cooked). I was pretty disappointed about how the manger handled this particular situation, especially after informing him that we order from them all the time. read more

Aegea West - Was informed over the phone this was cooked "medium". The inside of the burger looks rare. - Mediterranean Near Me - Douglaston, New York

Very good food but not cheap. Delivery service is terrific! They would have gotten 5 stars but because of the unpleasant women who unfortunately answers the phone. She consistently makes you feel like she's doing you a favor and makes it difficult for you to order. You are clearly bothering her. read more

I will start with saying we have ordered here several times a month since we moved to the area, we always enjoyed the food. Our LAST order the driver delivered the wrong food & after an hour and 30 min of waiting, the employee/owner? fought with my husband on the phone when he told him he didn't want to take the food that was sitting at someone's house for a half hour...mistakes happen I get that but it's bad business to have the delivery guy tell you he's going to pick up your food from someone else's house...gross! It was our LAST order at this place...beware! read more

So delicious every time. The best hummus and the best veggie burgers! And the delivery is always perfect. I could eat Aegea salads every day. read more

Ordered in tonight from Aegea. The owner took my order and everything was delivered promptly and perfect! The food was delicious. The kids loved the tender souvlakia and the gyros were out of this world. My wife loved the Christmas salad and the Aegea platter was on point. Thanks Mike for another great dinner! read more

I have been coming to this place for about 5 years everytime I'm in the douglaston area for work. I always order the Greek burger which is awesome and the hummus and feta which tastes fresh and very good. I've also had pizza and gyro as well both very good. I highly recommend Aegea west! read more

I am a long time customer of Aegea and now I will never order from them again. Because I had a promo through seamless I ordered from them through there instead of through their ordering service. And upon arrival my shrimp kebab sandwich had my French fries inside the sandwich instead of on the side.... I called Aegea expecting them to at least be helpful and help rectify this, and they snubbed me and told me that I should order from their service instead and that there was nothing that can be done. So now $15+ later I have zero food and I am disgusted. read more

Absolutely with out a doubt the worst pizza in the 5 Boroughs. Just got a pie delivered and it tasted like cardboard. The half with the mushrooms and onions was especially bad. The kids barely ate a slice each which normally they inhale 2 or 3. I took 2 bites and had to put it down. What ever was left which was more than half the pie went right into the garbage. Will never order from this place again. Any frozen pizza would be 10 times better. read more

Aegea West - The worst pizza in NYC - Mediterranean Near Me - Douglaston, New York

*3.5 stars* Aegea is like Greek fast food. Food is decent. I remember when they first opened the food was incredible, but over the years its gone downhill. They have an amazing "recession" deal, large pizza for 10 bucks. Appetizers are all good Avgolemono soup is meh, they make it with too much lemon. Gyro salad is really good (always ask for extra white sauce) Spinach pie is HUGE! thats your whole meal right there Wraps and gyros are okay. They tend to undercook the chicken, its really gross. I always tell them to make it well done. Falafel is pretty good. They make it really crispy. I HATE the fries. They always make them soggy. Owner is very nice and works really hard. Dude is there 7 days a week. Parking is hell read more

You know, although I drive by on Northern quite frequently, I would have never found this place if a friend of mine didn't recommend checking this place out. The restaurant is really small, it's right across the street from CVS with a green awning over the front entrance. I'm a pretty big fan of Greek/Mediterranean food; I would say this is one of the better, cleaner, best bang for your buck type of place. We usually order the 2 or 3 meat combination platter which is more than filling; if you get a side dish, definitely is enough to split for 2-3 people. I haven't tried the pizza but I've heard that it's also definitely worth a try! read more

Aegea West - 2 meat platter combo; comes with pita and tzatziki sauce - Mediterranean Near Me - Douglaston, New York

Combination restaurants usually do not turn out well. I'm not talking about 'fusion,' but stuff like Chinese and Mexican. Or Taco Bell/Pizza Hut. KFC/Taco Bell. However, Aegea breaks this rule with the weirdest of all, Greek/Pizza. Then again, I haven't had their pizza and don't know why I would want that in the first place. Their Greek food is quick, cheap, and delicious. The platter of chicken, gyro, or kebab are a great value. It comes with a simple house-made tzatziki. They also have refreshing salads. Just as a little bonus, I have no problem staring at the attractive waitresses they have. Whoever is doing the job of hiring those fine ladies needs a beer, on me. read more

Tastyish. I ordered garlic knots and got sour garlic knots. There needed to be some salt on the knots. Some how the parmesan was there but did not taste like anything. The flavor of sour garlic was overpowering everything. One good thing was the spanakopita. Once again needed a little more salt or something. Nonetheless was flakey and buttery. Would come again and try something else. read more

Whenever I go to Aegea's I always order a falafel sandwich and stuffed grape leaves. Both of which taste amazinggg!!! The falafel sandwich has the right amount of salad and falafel in gyro style pita break. It's very fulfilling. The stuffed grape leaves are also perfect (never too soggy or chewy). The pizza here is ok. I've tasted better but it's decent. I've also tried their plain pita bread with hummus. The hummus is fresh and taste really good. Pita is both soft and warm just the way I think pita should be with hummus. I'd recommend this place to my friends and will keep coming back for more good falafel. read more

I usually don't review places where I haven't checked in, but the takeout we picked up last night was so bad I feel it's my solemn duty to do so. The tzatziki sauce had virtually no flavor on my chicken gyro sandwich, though it was absolutely smothered in it and dripping. Looked like mayo. Buffalo chicken sandwiches (hard to screw up) were huge but tasteless, and the feta on the Greek salad was of poor quality, while the house vinaigrette was more a akin to straight up oil than anything else. Even the fries tasted off, and had zero seasoning. I'm sorry to say it, this was our first experience here and we will not return for a second. read more

I wanted to like this place, I ordered once via delivery and the second time I decided to check it out in person, to my suprise no one that works in this restaurant wears a mask! Not like they have the masks half on or wearing it like a chin guard... no they don't have them on at all! And if you've been in there you know they're on top of each other behind the counter bc of the limited space. I don't care how good a place is, we are in a pandemic in a state with a law requiring masks. I even asked them about it and they said "no we don't need masks here"... well I guess you don't need business either read more

Aegea, I remember when you first opened up in the mid-2000s. You were GREAT back then. Buffalo chicken pizza was absolutely killer and among the best in the hood. Gyros/kebob was great. What the hell happened? Used to be my go-to Greek takeout/delivery for years, but things are going to have to change. read more

By far my favorite take out place. It's located in Douglaston right on Northern Boulevard. It offers a variety of foods, each with fantastic flavor, quality and price. It very small but has a nice decor. They offer burgers, pizzas, salads, sandwiches, greek food, and a variety of sandwiches and wraps. I've only been disappointed by one thing offered here and that's the burgers. A few years ago, the burgers used to be soooooo great. The past two times i've ordered a burger I have been so let down. The first time they cooked my burger to a hockey puck and the second time I gave it a chance I was again let down. Bad luck I guess. Their gyros are fantastic. As other yelpers have stated, the meat is perfectly cut and has a great taste. Their chicken kebab has to be my favorite. I've never gotten a piece of chicken that was too dry or bland tasting. Their dressing is great along with their dressings. My favorite thing to pickup is the grilled chicken hero. It is so loaded with flavor with grilled chicken, cheese, tomato, mayo etc. So worth it. Keep in mind that parking isn't too great. It's very limited street parking with no parking lot. Yes, traffic officers love to give out tickets here. I've never eaten in here because it's very small and I don't like feeling cramped. Unfortunately I moved away and I miss this place. Hope it continues good business! read more

I order from here regularly, usually dont hav an issue. Today I placed an order for my mother who cant leave the house, and the manager had the nerve to call and tell me he wouldn't deliver because the tip amount wasn't enough. Is that a joke? 1st of all, I dont have to tip at all, 2nd, thats really how you want to run a business? And then to top it off when i told him fine just refund the money to the card if you're not going to deliver and please provide me with a receipt he hung up on me. Had to call back 3x and still did not get a receipt, and got hung up on all 3x. Worst customer service I have ever experienced, they should be ashamed. These are difficult times for people. You have no idea what my financial situation is. How dare you. read more

If you're looking for quality Greek food on the go, Aegea's the spot. The Greek Salad with Grilled Chicken is one of my favorite options on the menu. It's one of those great guilt free choices that's perfect lunch or dinner. The chicken is grilled to perfection; it isn't dry or charred. I also love the REAL black olives, sliced tomatoes, red cabbage and feta cheese; (although, I'll admit they've started to skimp on the feta). The dressing is really, really good and the portion is huge. Even the small Greek salad could be eaten in two sittings, so with that said, the price isn't too out there. And, it comes with this warm and sinfully delicious pita bread that I have to try my hardest to resist devouring, but if you're not watching your carb count or waistline, the bread totally compliments the salad. I prefer take out over delivery, and while the restaurant has some seating, the tables tend to fill up quickly, so you're better off eating your meal at home. Parking around Aegea is also a major pain, so be sure to have someone wait in the car when you go to pick up because there are a ton of cops cruising around, just waiting to ticket you, even if you're away for only a few minutes. read more

Ive had food there NEVER great, now OVERPRICED for GARBAGE. Person on the phone is just SOOO rude! I gave them a $1 tip and depending on speed and how food arrives I give them extra BUT they actually had the audacity to call and DEMAND MORE! THEY SAID IF I DIDN'T I WAS A TERRIBLE HUMAN BEING! First off tip is optional, but the fact that they demanded more is just nasty and bad customer service. THEN when they hung up they made it seem as they were going to do something bad to the food(why would i even want it after that DISGUSTING) I was still going to give them a chance due to difficult times, when they changed the amount as "taxes" to an extra $5 in addition to the tip i had already given all of this for 1 $16 gyro! I mean what did they want $10 tip for a damn gyro?! I ofcourse canceled and they were harassing me all night long calling me for 2days straight! Who the hell does that?! These people are DISGUSTING AND INSANE STAY AWAY ITS ACTUALLY SCARY! I made sure to double lock my doors, the harrassment was un real! BE CAREFUL WITH THIS PLACE! read more

Things have changed drastically since my first review. Portion size has decreased tremendously. Most importantly, my daughter, while eating her meal found a piece of plastic in her food. Thankfully she saw it before ingesting it. It could have resulted in a real tragedy. I won't be ordering from Aegea West anytime in the near future read more

Aegea West - Beware!!! - Mediterranean Near Me - Douglaston, New York

So we're on our way to eastern Long Island from NJ, late afternoon, July 4th weekend. Hungry when getting over the throgs Neck bridge. Have no idea were to eat, use my Yelp App and we drive to Aegea. Little place, in middle of bunch of businesses, hard to find. What a score!!!!! The place is small , maybe 8-10 tables, big takeout, people coming and going. The food is outrageous. Both Greek and Mediterranean - Italian. the young lady who served us was great, the owner made sure we had everything, the portions family style. And from NJ, we want to go back, super. read more

I've been going to Aegea since just after they opened. Foursquare says I've been here something like 80 times in the past howevermany months. Yeah, I love the food. I started coming for the convenience, kept coming back because of the salads. The seasonal salads are thoughtfully done. I'm a big fan of the Spring, and I like the Summer and Winter too. I skip the Fall, but I can understand why people would like it. I just don't do apples. I always top with grilled chicken, sometimes with tasty pork. I love the staff, and they always treat me well. There's plenty of other options in the area, but I take the trip from Whitestone because it's worth it. read more

One of the best pizza place in littleneck with delivery. They have pos system where you can order online, which makes it really convenient. They also send out coupons through emails. Never really tried their entree but hoping to order soon. Price is okay(around $20 per special large pie), but just make sure to order around hour before. It usually takes about minimum 30 mins to a hour. read more

EXTREMELY rude guy solicitating our office with your menus. Helped himself to walking around our office leaving menus without introducing himself. When I told him this was not allowed he got nasty with me! I'm sorry but how would you like it if I walked into your kitchen and just started placing my company flyers all around without asking permission or announcing myself? Very unprofessional. I happily accept menus from local businesses and keep them in our menu folder whenever they are politely given to me. PS - to the business owner, I collected them and tried to give the menus back to him because of his attitude and he said, "throw them out, I don't care". Looks like you picked a winner! read more

It is open again!!! Open for 2-3 weeks already. We come here every once in the while when my family has differing opinions about what to eat. This little restaurant offers Greek and Italian classics, along with some American food, like burgers. Very reasonable prices. Love the remodeling after a fire. Looks much different. Very friendly service that work efficiently. Love their menu. The hummus platter is very good. It comes with both whole wheat and regular pita bread. Never seen whole wheat pita bread before, especially not that hot and fresh. Great gyro platter. So much meat, and comes with a small Greek salad and a choice of rice or fries. Such a good deal. Almost as good as Gyro World. Pizza is okay. We have also tried other things over the years, but I can't possibly recall them. Try my suggestions. read more

Love this tiny local "to go to" Greek restaurant. It's more like a pizza place in atmosphere. I go there quite often and grab a small table for two and really really enjoy a casual bite. 1. Greek salad... Amazing dressing! Plentiful! 2. Hummus with warm pita as well as whole wheat pita. Delish and quite a generous portion. 3. Pita Pizza! Better than thin crust pizza..I love the spinach and feta. Price is so reasonable too! Tonight I noticed that the name is a Palindrome....meaning the name of the restaurant is spelled the same frontwards and backwards. I highly recommend this for a quiet very casual meal.
