Amazing time! We had Eric as our guide. He was funny and very knowledgeable. He's been doing it for 5-6 seasons now and knows the water better than anyone else around. Clean equipment, rafts were nice, prices were great for the experience. Picture package was awesome. Amazing photos. Changing rooms and showers were very helpful. Side note to AU FIX YOUR ATM!!!! I had an absolutely fantastic time white water rafting with this company. First of all, check in was simple and fast. So, that started things off on the right foot. Then, our guide, Josh Lemon, was SO GREAT. I was trying to be cool, but I was terrified. Josh was so laid back, friendly, nice, and right away I felt more at ease. During the trip, he was really knowledgeable about the history of the area and told us interesting stories. He always made sure we were well informed about our options with regards to directions to take or levels of skill involved with different pathways. That being said, I never ever felt like he was not in complete control of everything every moment of or trip. I would 100% recommend Adventures Unlimited and specifically Josh as your guide! read more

The rafting adventure portion is nothing but amazing! Chris R is an awesome raft guide and we always request him - funny, friendly, and flexible! The on-site Mexican restaurant is good, too! Shoutout to Jordan - excellent customer service. (Almost) the entire experience is organized from orientation, bus ride, lunch, and time on the river. The only portion that needs some work is the front desk. I do not feel welcome or valued as a customer when I interact with them. Customer service is very important in my opinion, and would be a 5-star rating if not for the impoliteness of the front desk. read more

Wow! What a great whitewater rafting experience. This was by far the best time we had rafting the middle Ocoee river run. Our guide Jake was great as well, nice guy and kept us entertained. We went on a Friday, Aug 17th, it was a beautiful day and we got lots of rapid action. During a calm section of the river we were able to take a swim and floated along side the boat. I would definately recommend Adventures Unlimited for their rafting tours, we'll be back again for sure. read more

We had a group of 8 that we were able to split into 2 rafts. Payth was our guide and he did an excellent job. He always gave an overview of what we could expect before each 'wave' of rapids. We had a raft-ful of all women and he was good about coaching us through each stage. He added fun and frolics along the way as well. The middle Ocoee "Classic" booking was fun and perfect for those of us that had never whitewater rafted before. Staff was very friendly. From booking online until we got there everything went smoothly. Check in was so easy! The only small complaint I have is that our group paid separately but the 4 of us checked in together. They had us down as a group of 2. I was not thinking and when they organized the rafts they did not have us on the same raft. Verbal communication on both parts. Thankfully because of other accommodating guests it worked out. So make sure they are aware of this when you check in if you don't have your group booked together ahead of time.. Our tour guide, Paul is a seasoned guide and knows his stuff! Have done a couple other white water rafting areas/companies in the US but this by far was the most enjoyable. Entire staff are very personable and friendly and very reassuring about safety. Our guide, Cole, was super fun and really showed how much he loves his job. Besides my husband and I we had 2 younger boys and Cole made the trip fun for us all!! He made the whole experience crazy, exciting but at the same time safe. You can see how great the guides work together to make sure accidents are avoided. Brought my youth group out for a summer retreat and had a great time. The staff was extremely helpful and polite. The bears den cabin was perfect for our group of 10. We did rafting and paintball. both were super fun and laid back. no heavy crowding on the river. Overall great place and I would definitely visit again. read more

AU provided a great experience for our group and made sure we were safe at the same time. We had a very crowded day on the river with beautiful weather and a high flow rate. Yet our guide was able to navigate us through with some extra adventures, such as "surfing," since our raft had a higher than average experience level. We also had one of our group ejected during a particular stretch but our guide ensured everyone's safety while pulling the rafter back in. I love rafting and these people are very good at what they do and help you enjoy yourself independent of your experience level. read more

Our guide Alec was so nasty.he put the fear of god into the 2 that were with me and they backed out.ifelt bad and 3 of us wIted in the bus for 2 hours and that ass went down alone . Apparently nis girlfriend is a guide too and we were caught inbetween there argument that put him in a bad mood. Ne was so u n pleasent .a guide can makea trip so much fun but he was screaming at us before we even got on the river. There are so many better places to raft .we had the groupon so we should have know they were in trouble .the owner was worse than him. I have. Done the ocoee 8 times and tnis has never happened. These people will never raft or try again. He told them he had no confidence in them and they would probably die on the river. We are in our 60, s and he was so disrespectful. My dad and I went several years ago and talked about doing it again so when the groupon came up I knew I found the perfect birthday gift. Ordinarily the full day of rafting we did would be $81 per person and then a photo CD an additional $50 - Groupon was $75 a person with the photos, so basically it was like getting the photos for free. The trip lasts 6 hours but that includes the bus ride to the drop point, lunch and the bus ride back so they say its about 4.5 hours on the water. Because the river was high on our day we finished a little fast but still got a good 4 hours of water time. All rafters have three pieces of equipment - a helmet, life jacket and a paddle; after grabbing all three and meeting our guide we loaded onto an old school bus for the long ride up the mountain. Once at the drop off we met the other 4 people that were in our raft and got some safety instructions, after 15 minutes of taking care of business we were off! In our raft were two couples probably around my age from Georgia, they had never been before. Bless her heart but one of the Georgia girls fell out 10 minutes into the trip, she was pulled back in with no injury and we continued on our merry little way. The early portion of the day includes the Olympic portion of the trip , don't be too impressed y'all - the real athletes were by themselves going up river, recreational rafting is down river with 7 paddlers. It is rough though and a persons greatest risk of falling out, it's also the most dangerous place to fall due to all the rocks. We made it through the course fine but then the same girl and her bf fell out right beyond the course. Poor thing, in most of the pics she does look terrified. Although the roughest rapids are in the morning they are more spaced out, except for the Olympic course so there was also time for some leisurely rafting, a lot of people even got out to swim on the "lazy river" portion before lunch. It was refreshing but very cold - I was already pretty wet from being splashed in the rapids so I figured why not. Lunch was a picnic of deli sandwiches and sides, I think it's strategic to not feed people until after the Olympic course - it makes first timers really nervous In the afternoon we walked the raft down past the Dam that separates the upper and middle river sections. Most people consider the Olympic course to be the main attraction but if you can only do one portion I actually recommend the middle river, it has a most consistent volume of rapids. Level 4 rapids are pretty intense and level 2 are mild bumps so only level 3s they will allow people to "ride the bull" - which means sit on the front of the raft like a mechanical bull. The BF of bless her heart attempted to do this bit fell into the raft right before we hit the actual rapid. Next time, I totally plan on giving this a try. No one fell out of the raft in the afternoon - although it was presented as an option on a level 3 if we wanted to flip but the general consensus was that we were all good. When the rafting was done we had a shorter bus ride back to the base. On the ride we were reminded that our guides had not "over tipped us and its impossible to over tip your guide". I already had cash in anticipation of a tip worthy guide, I gave $20 to cover me and my dad and our guide gave us both hugs so this must be considered a good tip. The base had a gift shop where one can buy "evidence of survival" aka souvenirs, shower and see the pics. Since I knew we were getting a whole cd I didn't bother viewing at the base but we had fun looking at them back at the hotel. Overall dad and I had a good time, no one got hurt and we didn't fall out. Our last time we did fall and were riding in front, I think it's the most likely position to fall as an FYI if you are considering rafting. You're wearing a helmet and a life vest, as long as you're ok with the possibility of falling out you'll be fine, the cold of the water is the most shocking part. My strong suspicion is no one has ever gotten hurt following the rules and not acting like an idiot. read more

I've always loved rafting the ocoee and at this point I've gone with the majority of the outfitters. Adventures Unlimited has always been my favorite. The guides are very well trained and know the river inside and out. They make it obvious that they want you to have a safe and fun trip. Two trips ago with them my group and I asked our guide to make the trip as rough as possible on us. He did. Sure enough I ended up falling out during one of the rapids. Without missing a beat my guide along with all of the other guides threw life lines to me. I made it back to the raft unscathed and we went back on with our excursion. This was my fourth trip down the Ocoee, my second with Adventures Unlimited. A middle river trip SHOULD take around 2 hours. We were only im the water for just over an hour because both our groups guides had second trips schedlued just a half hour after we pushed off. While our guide was nice enough we were rushed down the river, and he tipped us!. Quite disappointing; we won't use this company again. Our guide was Reverend Dean the Dunkin' Machine and he was a hoot!! Loved him! My daughter got to ride the bull on the front of the raft and she couldn't have possibly had more fun than she did! This review comes a little late since my trip to Ocoee was at the beginning of September. Nevertheless, I didn't want to miss the opportunity to sing my praises for Adventures Unlimited. This was my second water rafting trip with this company. The first left such an impression that I couldn't wait to go back. AU is very professional, but the guides make the trip exhilarating! Before leaving base, a guide gives VERY THOROUGH safety instructions, so if anything should happen, rafters are prepared. My guide Dawn was so patient with those of us rafting with her. Plus, she gave us really interesting information about the river and surrounding area. However, be prepared for the ride of your life: several of the rapids are Class 4. After rafting, I spent the night in one of the cabins on site. It was rustic, but very charming and peaceful. The only thing I needed was a place to eat since the on site cafe was closed at the time. Staff was very helpful in recommending nearby restaurants. So, overall I couldn't recommend AU Ocoee more highly. I can't wait for my next trip. read more

An awesome experience, we took the Middle/classic Ocoee expedition. It is longer than you would expect, about 1.5 hours on the water, and well worth the money.
